16 In The End, It Became Empty

For the entire afternoon thereafter, no other teachers came to Qiao Lingxiang's class for lessons. There was a rumor that a few teachers from Xiang City High School got fired. This included the teachers with sub-standard teaching abilities from the junior high section.

Having sub-standard teaching abilities didn't mean that their teaching was lousy. Rather, it meant that compared to the entire teaching staff at Xiang City High School, their overall teaching ability was below average.

However, Qiao Lingxiang really liked one of the old math teachers who got fired. He liked to walk around when he was teaching and liked to teach in the Xiang City dialect. Qiao Lingxiang could hear him clearly.

At the end of lessons, when Qiao Lingxiang went to ask him questions, he was never bothered by her figure or the simplicity of her questions.

He would always explain things to her patiently. He treated every single student who came to ask him questions in the same way. He would explain the steps to solve the question clearly to the student.

He always spoke in a dialect so his standard Chinese wasn't on the mark. His overall teaching abilities were ranked very low by the school authorities because of this. Hence, his teaching abilities were viewed as weak.

When Qiao Lingxiang heard that he was fired, she felt waves of sadness.

He was one of the few people whom she liked. Yet, he was going to leave her world. It caused the hole in her heart to widen.

Gradually, the hole in Qiao Lingxiang's heart became wider and wider. In the end, her heart turned empty.

Like Qiao Lingxiang's class which had no teachers to teach them, the senior high section was in a similar state. Qiao Yuelan and Wen Yuansi were called upon by their headteachers and transferred to the genius class.

Cen Yi, whose grades were exceptionally terrible, was left behind along with his friends. Everyone thought there was no point in staying in class anymore so they ran to the fields and played ball.

When Cen Yi and his friends climbed down the stairs noisily, Lu Zhengqing and a few other young men dragged Qiu Chen, Xiong Yangbo, and Zhong Tie along by their necks and pulled them over. They coincidentally encountered Cen Yi and his friends around a corner of the staircase.

"Ah Yi, I've found the person for you."

Lu Zhengqing blinked with his beautiful eyes. He tossed Qiu Chen at Cen Yi's feet before leaning against the wall lazily. He took out a box of cigarettes from his pocket and took one out.

The year three student beside him, who was carrying Xiong Yangbo, threw Xiong Yangbo on the floor too. He complained, "We spent half a day looking for the three of them. Brother Cen, guess what they were preparing to do? If we were a touch slower, they would've escaped through the school gates."

"Were you trying to run away after hitting someone?"

Cen Yi tilted his head and squatted down to look at Qiu Chen. He lifted his hand and slapped Qiu Chen's face. It was so forceful that Qiu Chen started to see stars. He heard Cen Yi speaking to him.

"I heard that you went to see Xiang… because I hit you in the morning?"

He wanted to look for Qiao Yuelan and ask her what Xiangxiang's full name was but before he could speak to her, she got called out by her teacher and was sent to the genius class.

There were many people in front of him so it would be very strange to call her "Xiangxiang".

Fortunately, Lu Zhengqing reminded Cen Yi at this moment.

"I heard that her name is Qiao Lingxiang."

"Oh, right. I hit you but you went to make trouble for Qiao Lingxiang?"

Cen Yi raised his hand and slapped Qiu Chen's other cheek. Then, he freed his other hand and placed it on Xiong Yangbo's head.
