Chapter 37 - Demon's bride no 2?

After carefully reading through the status windows of the girls.

He realised that they each have decent base stamina, intellect and agility.

Thinking back about their occupation. That explains the stats.

Then he signalled for the girls' attentions and explained a few things to them:

"Have you seen your own status window?"

The girls looked up and nodded at him

"Now I want to explain to you a few things based on what I know.

When you reach level 10, you could apply for class change when you challenge the tower.

There are no real formal categories but I think we can divide them like this:

Melee fighter, range fighter and support.

Then those are either physical, magic based or a combination of both.

Physical fighters focussed on either or a combination of these stats: Stamina, Strength or Agility.

Magic based fighters focussed on: Stamina and/or Intellect

People will adjust their stats based on how they see fit.

There were numerous basic classes and there were some rare hidden classes, like the one I had, SwordMage, which is a melee fighter class that uses a combination of both physical and magic based abilities.

Now, you girls will have to decide on which direction you want to head, then I can help guide, fine tune and test your style.

Since you both are fortunate enough to have learnt spell casting, have high base stamina and intellect points I would recommend going the hard way on the magic path.

It would be harder at the beginning, but when you have built enough power, you will power up exponentially."

Soeyoon nodded thoughtfully and remarked:

"So this is like an rpg game, gain class, gain skill and level up to be stronger?"

As expected of the gaming country, Kiel thought:

"In essence, yes."

Xue Er had a conflicted look on her face and asked:

"What is the use of a class? What should I choose?"

Kiel leant on the pillar behind him and explained patiently:

"Bonus stat, stat multiplication and special class abilities.

When you level up, you will gain a set amount of stat and free points.

Having a class will first give you a bonus in the prioritised stat and each time you level up, your stat gain in those important stats are multiplied.

So, the faster you gain your hidden class the better as hidden class gives higher stat multiplication and extra bonus stat on top of your basic class.

Class will let you become powerful and determine the kind of power you will wield.

So your future will very much depend on how you choose your first step.

There are those that eventually become strong enough to send dragons flying with a punch, cut a giant beast with a slash, blast things up with a magic spell, summon creatures, cast powerful buffs, support spells or even heal. It's up to your imagination and luck of finding the right classes."

Kiel kept quiet after that letting the girls digest the information he unloaded on them.

Pulling out the "Hidden Class Certificate: Necromancer" scroll, he showed the girls and explained:

"This should allow one of you to get the Necromancer hidden class.

But from what I know, you need to be a mage class first then learn this after.

These kinds of certificates are hard to come by and usually you need to pass a gruelling test to gain a hidden class.

So one of you is very lucky. I'll give it to whoever first to convert to the mage class.

However, think carefully if you really want it.

You will probably have to deal with corpses, death energy, poison and worst you might turn into a zombie.

But remember, regardless of the class, how you develop is up to you.

If neither of you wants it. I'll sell it.

Take your time to consider. There is no rush.

Kiel finished his offer and pointed at Xue Er, at the corner of his eyes, he noted Seoyoon pouted.

Life has been very great for Li Bing Xue.

First time feeling complete despair.

First time crying so desperately in public hoping someone would save her.

She hated how no one helped. Weren't they supposed to love her?

Weren't such beautiful weak women like her supposed to be protected and cared for?

For the first time in her life, she hated her beauty. Her confidence crumbled.

She was left questioning her self-worth.

Until he came and rescued her. The grey haired boy named Kiel Sinclair.

He was like the devil. On one hand he offered honey, but the other hand was poison.

He said :

"There is no free lunch. I can protect you but from now on, you are mine."

She felt indignant, she never wanted to sell herself.

She had always despised those who sold their bodies for fame.

What was the difference now?

She had wanted to slap the smiling bastard.

But remembering how she would be left for those beasts behind her. She shuddered.

She knew there was no one else. Those few good men who stood up for her had died miserably.

Those thugs behind her made sure they died a painful death and had her watch her saviour die one by one.

It was awful.

Those 10 people behind her were no joke. They were so strong she felt completely hopeless.

In her heart, she felt some doubt. 'Can such a skinny boy defeat those 10 monsters in human skins behind her?'

Then she noticed the girl behind him.

She knew the girl, she was Kim Soeyoon, a globally famous K-Pop Idol.

She hates to admit it but Kim Soeyoon was even more famous than her.

Looking at her torn clothes and miserable looks, she must have suffered a similar fate like her.

But seeing that she had no fear in her eyes instead, it was filled with respect and adoration for the boy.

It made her understand, this boy must have saved her.

He smiled at her like a devil and warned again:

"Choose, I will not ask twice."

Gritting her teeth, she nodded:

"I'll join you. I am yours, but I want them dead."

She will join him, for now. But she wanted her revenge, she couldn't swallow the anger and hatred she felt for the abuse and torture those guys did to her.

He walked past her and pulled his sword out of nowhere and said:

"Don't regret your choice."

The thugs were threatening him, but in a blink of an eye, a head flew up and blood spurt everywhere.

Kiel seemed to flash between the thugs and they were like chicken waiting for him to cut them up one by one.

He was fast, strong and ruthless.
