APOCALYPSE ONLINE: I Became Over Powered Thanks To My Clones

Alice received an invitation from her friend Vanessa to join a new open-world VRMMO. Despite Alice's inclination to laziness, Vanessa's insistence compelled her to participate. "Hey, there's a skill that lets me create clones of myself," Alice mused, her interest piqued. "I absolutely need to get my hands on this skill." With a mischievous laugh, she contemplated the possibilities of having free helpers through her clones. *[Ding! Your Clone has practiced [Sword Arts] while you were offline. You've gained 1,231 experience points in your [Sword Arts] skill.]* *[Ding! Your Clone has been busy chopping down 2,567 trees and gathering 4,152 pieces of wood during your offline time. Your [Wood Chopping] skill has gained 5,321 experience points.]* *[Ding! Your Clone has successfully defeated 100 level 1 Slimes, granting you 100 EXP.]* While other players grappled with the challenges of surviving in the game's apocalyptic setting, Alice's clones industriously farmed resources in the nearby vicinity. "Hmm... What an intriguing game!" she thought, recognizing the unique advantage her clones provided. ==========================

Volume 1 Chapter 4: Skill Selection (Edited)

Volume 1 Chapter 4: Skill Selection

After finishing reading the pop-up warning, I opened my status screen again to check if the 'name' column was not 'N/A' as it had been from the start.

[Name: Carmilla]

[Race: Vampire]

[Title/s: N/A]

[Level: 1]

[HP: 20/20]

[MP: 10/10]

[STA: 10/10]

[STR: 15]

[DEF: 10]

[VIT: 20]

[AGI: 15]

[DEX :10]

[INT: 10]

[MAG: 10]

[MAGDEF: 10]

Observing that the name column now displayed 'Carmilla' instead of 'N/A' as it did at the start, I closed the status menu. I believed everything was completed, but the AI's voice resounded in my head once more.

[Displaying the available Skills Selection for the user.]

Upon hearing the AI voice in my head prompting that the configuration was not yet complete, I asked the AI about what the Skills Selection entailed, just before hearing the AI's voice again.

[Skills Selection is a crucial aspect of the configuration where players choose their skills. As an inhuman entity, such as a vampire, you gain access to racial skills exclusive to inhuman: Vampire characters.]

Though the AI's explanation about skill selection was brief, I gathered that all players have the freedom to choose their starting skills. As an inhuman entity, specifically a vampire, I am able to access the unique racial skills reserved for vampires.

Alice: "Proceed to skill selection."

I voiced a command to the AI, seemingly talking to thin air. Fortunately, I was alone, and it would've been extremely embarrassing if someone had seen me. However, since a menu appeared in front of me, it's certain the AI heard me. If nothing were to appear, it would be quite embarrassing, and I might just try to erase and seal that memory from my mind forever.

But let's just ignore the potential embarrassing moment and pay attention to the menu in front of me, which has three pages: [Skills], [Racial Skills], and [Unique Skills].

After scrolling down for a few seconds, I saw a bunch of different skills, but it seemed endless. I got bored scrolling down because there were no descriptions for the skills. Therefore, I didn't know what each skill would do. Some skills had simple names, which gave a basic idea of their purpose, but not their exact uses. So, I decided to change to the other page, which focused on racial skills.

[Racial Skills]

[Immortality] [Cost 5 skill point]

[Bat Transformation] [Cost 1 skill point]

[Charm Lv: 1] [Cost 1 skill point]

[Night vision Lv: 1] [Cost 1 skill point]

[Strength Enhancement Lv: 1] [Cost 1 skill point]

[Speed Enhancement Lv: 1] [Cost 1 skill point]

[Vitality Enhancement Lv: 1] [Cost 1 skill point]

[Magic Enhancement Lv: 1] [Cost 1 skill point]

After switching to the [Racial Skills] page, I noticed there were only 8 skills listed. Among them, 7 skills cost only 1 point each. However, I was intrigued by the skill [Immortality], which costs 5 points. The name suggests 'the ability to live forever or eternal life,' but I'm certain the game management wouldn't allow something that unbalances the game. Since it's a racial skill, it's unlikely to grant actual immortality. There might be another meaning or effect to this skill, but it seems potentially overpowered considering its high cost.

I haven't purchased any skills yet because there's another page titled [Unique Skills]. Judging by the name of the page, these are probably exceptional skills, given the use of the word 'unique.'
