Bear Attack

Hurley woke up as well. Just as the two approached the roll-up door, something outside collided with it, causing a section of the door to bulge inward.

"Don't go out yet," Hurley said, but before he finished speaking, the window was shattered, and a bear jumped inside, eyeing them menacingly. The roll-up door banged as the bears outside continued to ram it. They could feel the door on the verge of collapsing under the constant assault.

Seemingly ravenous, the bear inside the room had glowing green eyes and lunged at them in the next moment.

Alice and Hurley dodged left and right. Alice quickly took cover behind the tent, retrieving two guns from the space. She tossed one to Hurley. "Here, catch."

While tossing the gun, Alice immediately fired at the bear, which surprisingly agilely dodged her shots. "Bang!" Hurley followed up with a shot, finally killing the bear.

With a final crash, the roll-up door collapsed, revealing three bears outside. Alice, who had never seen so many bears at once, immediately opened fire on them. The two cooperated, swiftly dealing with the three bears before rushing outside to rescue others.

The air was filled with the scent of blood, staining the snow-covered ground red.

"Help! Somebody help me!"A man was surrounded by five bears, and one of them lunged at him with a gaping mouth.

Terrified, the man closed his eyes, but the expected pain didn't come. Instead, he heard a series of gunshots. When he opened his eyes, all five bears were dead, and Alice and Hurley stood nearby with guns in hand.

Dumbfounded, he slumped to the ground, and Hurley walked over with a furrowed brow. "Hurry up, follow us."The man finally realized the danger and crawled away from the dead bears. One of them, seemingly not completely dead, struggled to stand, frightening him to run even faster. Alice fired another shot, bringing the struggling bear down for good.

Others with guns joined in the firefight, but there were too many bears. They couldn't reload fast enough, and some were knocked down before they could shoot again. Fortunately, those behind them quickly opened fire, preventing them from becoming bear fodder.

Alice dodged them, climbing onto the roller coaster tracks, and then retrieved a Gatling gun from the space. The bears around noticed her and rushed towards her. Alice opened fire, and the bears were mowed down. Ten minutes later, the bears seemed to give up on her and turned to run towards the shops.

Craig shouted, "Everyone, disperse and find places to hide!"

Everyone immediately scattered. Some climbed onto the Ferris wheel, while others climbed onto the pirate ship. The bears were agile, almost climbing up after them, and they had to shoot while evading.

Alice swept the area from the rooftop, and suddenly, she heard climbing sounds behind her. She sharply looked back.

"It's me!" Hurley quickly spoke as he faced the barrel of the Gatling gun.

Alice noticed the frozen blood on his fingers and frowned. "Are you injured?"

Hurley glanced at his hand, casually grabbing some snow and wiping it off. Soon, his skin appeared clean. He chuckled lightly, "No, just accidentally got some on me."

Alice nodded and continued observing the bears around them. They stood on the roof of a building near a crossroads, offering a good vantage point.

"They're afraid of your Gatling gun and won't come near," Hurley remarked. After waiting for a minute, the dozen or so bears in the vicinity stared motionless at them, as if in a standoff.

"Then let's take the initiative," Alice said, opening fire and causing the bears to turn and run. The two of them descended from the roof and chased after the bears.

The entire amusement park was filled with the smell of gunpowder, and the snow was covered with giant paw prints, creating a chilling sight.Twenty minutes later, the attacking bears heard a whistle, and they simultaneously froze. The whistle sounded again, and all the bears retreated, turning away.

Five minutes later, once it was confirmed that the bears wouldn't return, Craig climbed down from a higher place. "Gather!"The group walked over with shaky steps, panting heavily. Some had lost their hats while running, their hands and feet were stiff from the cold, and their noses were red from continuous sniffling.

"How many people are left, report in."After counting, it was discovered that three people from the supply convoy had died, two were injured, and the rest were also quite shaken, unable to recover from the panic.

It was their first time encountering so many bears and being attacked by a bear group. Even with guns, they had missed several shots due to extreme tension and almost fallen into the bears' mouths.

"Craig, these bears appeared too mysteriously," Hurley spoke up. "Did you guys hear the whistling just now?"

"I heard it. I thought I might have misheard," someone in the group raised their hand.

"I think I heard it too."

Craig quickly asked, "What did you notice?"

Hurley replied, "I suspect someone is controlling these bears."

The whistle was the command.

"There are countless experts in the world, including animal trainers," Craig pondered.

"That person is clever, hiding behind and using animals for looting," Hurley added.Fortunately, they had guns. If it were ordinary people, none of them might have survived the night.

Unable to determine the position of the animal trainer and unable to take any action against them, Craig sighed, "For safety reasons, we can't stay here tonight. Pack up immediately and leave."

Others nodded in agreement. No one knew if those bears would return, and nobody dared to stay. Even staying in their cars wasn't an option.

Alice and Hurley returned to the convenience store, which had already been extensively damaged. Shelves were knocked over, and kitchenware was damaged, but thankfully, the tent was unharmed. Hurley returned the rifle to Alice, questioning, "Why do you carry so many weapons when you go out?"

"I've modified these guns. They can be folded, and carrying them doesn't take up much space," Alice casually fabricated an explanation. The matter of the space couldn't be revealed to outsiders, as it would lead to endless trouble. This was also the reason why she killed Beryl.

Hurley didn't doubt her and quickly packed his belongings. After half an hour, the supply convoy resumed its journey.

Before long, the convoy disappeared into the night.

In the surrounding woods, a man sat on a large rock, surrounded by a dozen bears. The man clicked his tongue disappointedly, murmuring, "What a pity!"

...

At eight in the morning, the convoy arrived at a small town and found a place to park.

"Find a place to rest on your own, but don't go too far," Craig yawned.

After a night of tension, the group was exhausted and sleepy. In the small town, some residents emerged upon seeing the arrival of the convoy.
