18. MILITARY CAMP [PT1]

While me and Sophie ate our food quietly in a corner

"Hey Kate, I've been meaning to ask you, are you still going with your plan?" Sophie asked

"Plan?" I asked confused

"Yeah, your plan to remove the skin of the spider."

"Oh... about that, I don't think we can pull through with the plan. I mean, if what you guys said was true, then I wouldn't want to risk anyone life."

"So what do we do now?"

"...to be honest, I really don't know. I think we should just make a run for it, if we can take all the survivors to the bus alive, then we'll be able to get out of here.... I think."

"But..."

Sophie was interrupted by the sound of the survivors fighting.

"Enough of this, why do they get to eat more than us?!" One of the male survivor with black hair and a muscular build said

"I didn't see your ass out there when we were going from classes to classes, so why do you complain." Another male survivor with a skinny looking body said

"What do you mean Phil, before the apocalypse began, Johnny here used to be a very respected student, so he definitely deserves to eat more!" Another survivor said

"Aren't you going to do something about that Kate?" Sophie asked

"Why should I, I really want to see where this is going." I said with a large grin plastered across my face.

"That pig deserves nothing, if you're too lazy and scared, then you deserve nothing!" Another survivor said supporting the skinny looking boy

"What did you say, did you just call me a pig?" Johnny, the boy throwing a tantrum said pulling out a gun from his pants pointing at the skinny looking boy

*Swish!!*

Unfortunately for him, before he could pull the trigger, Mia had shot an ice arrow that pierced through his hands making the gun fall from his hands

"Arghhh!!" He screamed in pain as blood gushed out of his hands like they were happy to be free.

"Fuck!!" Johnny cursed as he pulled out the arrow from his hands

"You got what you deserve." The skinny looking boy said looking at Johnny with disgust

"Fuck it! I'm going to kill you!" Johnny screamed while picking up the gun with his other hand

*Swish!!*

Yet again Mia had fired another ice arrow piercing through his other hand

"It seems like she's enjoying this, I thought she was a big softie who cared too much about other people." I said

"I don't think so, bcak in school, Mia had troubles interacting with other people, she normally spends her time reading or doing what she loves the most.... Archery" Sophie explained

"So you mean she was a lonely nerd?"

"I won't say so, she had rejected many proposals from many students and even teachers."

"Hmmmm, that's interesting."

*Arghhh!!* Johnny screamed in pain

"Fuck!! Fuck!! Fuck!!" Johnny screamed

"Help me Seth." Johnny said looking at the boy who had supported him

"I-I..." Instead of helping Johnny, seth turned his head ignoring the screaming johnny.

Mia walked up to them, wearing that expressionless look on her face.

Shifting his gaze towards Mia, Johnny had no other option than to beg for his life.

"P-please don't kill me, I'm very useful." Johnny treid to reason with her but she didn't respond, instead she opened her palm and ice particles began hovering, taking the shape of an arrow, Mia then proceeded to plunge the sharp ice arrow deep into Johnny's throat and then walked away with the gun in her hands with no remorse.

"Cool." I exclaimed

In another corner of the gymnasium, John was seated reading a book

"The books says I should be nice to her...."

"I'm nice... Right?, Yeah I'm the most nicest person she has ever seen." John said with a smile

"What's next?" John said reading the contents of the book

"Be a hero and always help her."

"How the hell do I do that? I can't be the hero of someone who does everything herself, she killed a giant spider, how am I supposed to help someone who killed a giant spider?"

After the event that happened earlier and the disposing off of the body of Johnny the same way they disposed off the body of Gary, by feeding them to the zombies, the whole gymnasium was filled with fear and silence.

I was currently in a room with both Sophie and Stacy,

I didn't have an option, they dragged me here saying they needed a little girl time

"I'm really starting to feel like a boy now." Stacy said

"Why?" Sophie asked

"For the past few days, we've not showered, it's like I'm being eaten by germs." Stacy said

"Me too, I've been wearing the same clothes since the apocalypse started, unlike a certain someone who packed some clothes." Sophie said staring at me

"... what, I had to be ready for anything."

"But do tell me how you got all those things ready before I came? And you also mentioned an apocalypse when we were at the mall, how did you know?" Sophie asked

'Is she getting suspicious?' I thought

'should I come clean, after all there's no harm in saying the truth... But even I don't know why I'm here or why I'm in this body.'

"I-I..." Interrupting me was a voice from inside the gymnasium

"The military! they're here!"

"What's going on?" Stacy asked

"Let's check it out." Sophie said as both her and Stacy left the room

In the large gymnasium, there were about 10 men in the military uniform.

"So much survivors, how did they manage to survive for so long." One of the soldiers said.

The soldiers seemed to be looking for something or someone.

"Sir! we can't protect everyone in here, they're too many." Another soldier said.

"So the government really thought of us?" I said as I approach the soldiers wearing a very assuring smile

"We're here on a mission to save only one person, we're not here to save all." The leader of the soldiers said, his face had seriousness written all over it

"And who might that be?" I asked

"Stacy Parker."

"Why not take us all with you?" I asked

"Sorry miss but our resources and vehicles cannot sustain all the people in here."

While I was talking to the captain of the soldiers, Mia walked up to us

"What's going on?" Mia asked

"M-miss Mia, you're alive." The captain's expression changed from a serious to a shocked one

"Why? am I supposed to be dead?" Mia said

"N-no, it's just that... Never mind my words miss Mia."

"Your father would be so pleased to see you." He said

The rest of the group approached us

"Miss Stacy, we've received orders to bring you back home safely." The captain said

"Finally, what took you guys so long Raphael?" Stacy asked finally relived that her father really sent someone to bring her back home.
