16. I KILLED A ZOMBIE

The group seeing both Sophie and john sprinting towards them were alerted.

"Why are they running?" Kyle asked

"Maybe they're running from the zombie." Mia said

"But, if it really was a zombie, they could have killed it easily." Kyle added

"You're right... We have to get ready for anything." Mia said bringing out her bow and magically made an ice arrow appear out of nowhere.

Kyle also brought out his sharp daggers.

Seeing this, the survivors started panicking

"W-wait, y-you mean a real z-zombie?" One of the survivors asked

"Don't panick, just get behind us, if you make too much noise you'll only attract more zombies." Mia said raising her bow

"I-I can't believe this, w-we're really going to d-die." Another survivor said

"I knew I shouldn't have gone on this mission." Another added

Mia, and Kyle readied themselves as John and Sophie came closer

"Run! Run!" John yelled out while running

"What the fuck is he saying?" Kyle asked

"I don't know, but my instincts tells me it's not good." Mia said

"Run you dumbass! Run!" John shouted towards their direction.

Suddenly

"Hey Mia, what's that chasing after them?" Kyle asked

"What the hell is that?"

As John and Sophie drew closer to the group

"Shit!" Mia yelled while shooting her ice arrow towards the figure chasing after both John and Sophie

*Swish!!*

The arrow flew straight towards John missing him by a hair length but it had successfully hit it's target

"Let's get out of here!" John yelled as they got to the group

"Don't worry about it, I killed it." Mia said confidently

"You don't understand, that thing is not an ordinary zombie." John tried to explain

"What do you..." Kyle was interrupted when the strange zombie stood up after being shot by Mia's ice arrow

"How's that possible?" Mia was left bewildered

"I can take it!" Kyle shouted raising his two daggers

"That thing is not ordinary, you can't kill it easily."

"What do you mean, have you met this fella before?" Kyle asked

"All you need to know is we have to get out of here, now!"

Suddenly a shadow appeared right behind John

"Watch out!" Sophie screamed taking out the kitchen knife slashing at the zombie's head.

The knife had cut through the zombie's head like hot knife through butter

*Gasp!*

Sophie immediately dropped the kitchen knife after she realized what she had just done

"I-I k-killed it." Sophie was traumatized after killing for the first time

"Guys, I'm telling you we should go now!" John warned

"What were you afraid of, it's gone now, you can relax." Kyle said

"I'm getting scared." One of the survivors said

"Me too, that zombie almost killed someone." Another added

"Why didn't my arrow kill it? it hit it's head." Mia mumbled

Suddenly the group saw about 30 more pale orange coloured zombies approaching them with great speed

*Swish!!* *Swish!!* *Swish!!*

Mia shot multiple arrows made of ice towards the incoming zombies and they had all hit their target, but the zombies didn't care about the arrows that pierced through their skull as their only target were to munch on the juicy brains of the people in front of them.

"I-it didn't kill them!" Mia was shocked as her arrows had done practically nothing to the zombies that were charging towards them

"Everyone run!" Mia ordered and everyone began running towards the Martial arts class except Sophie who was still traumatized.

Immediately John held her by the hand running towards the Martial arts class.

"Help me!!!" One of the female survivors screamed as the zombies cornered her.

"Arghhh!!!" A pain filled scream was heard as the girl was bitten from different zombies

"I have to help her!" Mia yelled as she raised her bow, forming an ice arrow, trying to shoot at the zombies who were attacking the girl

"No Mia! She's gone and we can't do anything about it let's just get out of here!" John screamed at Mia.

As much as she hated it, Mia knew that she couldn't do anything to save her, after one was bitten there was no going back.

"Help me!! I don't want to die!" Another survivor yelled as he tripped over a stone leaving him vulnerable to the zombies

Immediately Mia raised her bow

*Swish!!*

Mia shot an ice arrow towards one of the zombie that was about to pounce on the poor boy.

The arrow had hit the zombie's head and the impact was so strong it decapitated it, killing it instantly.

Seeing the opening, the boy ran towards the rest of the group

"I killed it... The head! Guys it's the head! Take out the head!" Mia shouted to the rest of the group as she had found the only way to kill the new zombies

Immediately Kyle pulled out his double daggers and John pulled out his spear still dragging Sophie by the hand as they ran towards the Martial arts class while killing every zombie that got close by decapitating their heads.

As the group got closer to their destination, they were met by a large number of orange coloured zombies.

"These things are everywhere!" Kyle yelled out of frustration

"We can't die here, I can't die here." John mumbled

The group came to a halt as the zombies closes their distance

"What do we do now?" John asked

"I don't want to die this way." Kyle said.

Mia paused for a while before saying

"I know, everyone follow me!" Mia commanded.

The group managed to maneuver through the zombies who were approaching them from both sides

Back in the gymnasium

[Gavin's pov]

"Miss Kate, I need to speak with you." Said a voice behind me.

"What's the problem?" I asked as I turned to see who it was

It was one of the female survivor who had been chosen to distribute the food equally

"We have a problem." She said with a worried look forward on her face

"Please be a good problem." I mumbled

"With the new survivors, our food supplies has been consumed faster, I'm sorry to say that our food supplies could only serve us for one more day, after that we would have to starve until we can find another food source."

"This is a big problem, we can't stay here much..." I was interrupted by a loud knock on the door
