Waiting at the table, Hua Meili saw Guo Zhongcheng and Zhongcheng Qingren coming down first.

The two sat at her left side.

Following behind them were Du Hexi and Mu Hexin, they also sat down.

Even though both are her Black Shadows and can go on without eating as long as she is alive, they also need to eat to act normal.

If others notice that they are not even eating a single grain of rice, would they blame her for being heartless for not letting them eat?!

"Xiao Mei, are you happy now since your brother came back." Guo Zhongcheng asked.

He smiled at her, happy that finally, her brother is home after all those 'years' that he was gone from her side.

"Yes, I am very happy since he is back safe and sound."

Hua Meili forced a smile on her lips trying to act overly happy about his return.

Even though her body misses him, her soul feels awkward because she is not that close to him.

Even the original is not close to him, then what about her?

"We're glad that his finally back." Zhongcheng Qingren said as a rare smile crept up on his face.

Talking for a while, Jin Hua and his friends arrived at the dining hall clean and proper.

They sat one by one on the right side of Jin Hua since he is seating on her right side.

Jin Hua does not seem to dislike having the both of them sit at the host seat, instead of disliking, he seems to really like the idea of having her sit right beside him.

"Wow, there's so much food!!"

The green-haired man was so excited to see so much food right in front of him that drool seem to escape from his mouth. His eyes were sparkling as he looks at the food.

"I'm starving!"

The brown-haired man beside the green-haired man looked at the food with sparkling eyes also drooling.

"It's a feast!"

The red-haired man put his two hands up and muttered some praise about some Deity above that she does not understand.

"It's very nice of you for preparing a feast for us. Since the Apocalypse started, food has been scarce and could be considered the most important thing for all people. I thank you from the bottom of my heart." The blue-haired man said solemnly.

Even though he no longer looked at her with wariness, he was still stiff and straight as a pole right in front of her.

"Don't mention it. You have come from a very far place and I bet you must be all hungry for rushing over here. The road was long and the path dangerous so you might have exhausted yourself very much. At the least, as friends who accompanied my brother throughout his journey, I could only thank you with food to fill your stomachs and a house to stay."

Hua Meili smiled at them warmly.

She was thankful that they accompanied her brother all the way home so she prepared a feast for them.

She knew just how hard the journey was so she was really thankful that they accompanied Jin Hua during his journey back.

But even so, she was still cautious and wary about them since people cannot be trusted easily.

Even though different thoughts run inside her heart, she did not let them be seen on her face.

She just kept on gently smiling at them.

Hua Meili was definitely wearing a perfect mask, no one can see through her, only if she let them.

"No no no... You don't have to thank us! It was Brother Jin who save us and if not for him, we would probably be all dead by now!"

The green-haired man immediately waves his hands in front of him very quickly trying to avoid her praise.

"Yes, he's right! Jin is our savior so it's only right for us to return the favor!"

The red-haired man also agreed as he scratch his cheeks in embarrassment. He did not dare to claim such high praise.

"Even so, I thank you all for being with my brother all this time."

Hua Meili smiled and then look at Jin Hua who was also looking at her with an embarrassed face. But, it can't really be counted as one since his poker face was still on.

His embarrassment could not be easily deciphered if she does not know the antics of people who have a facial paralysis.

Just take Zhongcheng Qingren for example, he also has facial paralysis but she can completely understand the minute changes in his face.

This skill of hers really helps her time and time again from avoiding danger coming from facial paralysis people.

"How about we start eating now before the food turns cold."

Hua Meili suggested which everyone agreed upon, they started eating with a harmonious yet awkward atmosphere around them.

After the warm and delicious launch, they all gathered in the living room to chat about life.

Sitting beside Hua Meili at the front was Jin Hua while her subordinates were on her left side and his on his right. The awkward atmosphere slightly lessened a little after they had their launch.

"Meili, I want to introduce to you the people who were my comrades in life-and-death situations since the Apocalypse struck. The Red-haired man is Gao Hou, the Blue haired man is Mingque Shui, the brown-haired man is Yu Diqiu, and his brother Yu Feng is the green-haired man, and lastly..."

Somehow when Jin Hua was about to introduce the blonde, he paused but then continued as if he was just taking a breather before speaking again.

All of his actions were done normally but still, Hua Meili noticed the slight pause.

"...the blond-haired woman is Lan Pian." Jin Hua said.

He may not say it in words but she could see that he did not like the Lan Pian girl that much but still he did not kick her out.

'Is there an inside story?'

"Nice to meet you!"

Yu Diqiu and Yu Feng both greeted her, they put their right hand in the air for a greeting.

"Nice meeting ya lad!"

Gao Hou said sporting a grin and his hands waving.

"It's nice meeting you finally. Jin has been talking about you non-stop during our way here. If I didn't know better, I would have thought that he was talking about his lover." Minque Shui said casually.

He was still as straight as a pole but he had already warmed up a little and was no longer stiff, he even joked.

"Oh really?"

Hua Meili look at Jin Hua whose expression was still indifferent but upon closer inspection, she could see that his ears were red.

'He is embarrassed....' Hua Meili thought and secretly smiled.

"Hi, nice meeting you Hua Meili! It is really nice having another girl around since I was only surrounded by boys. I hope we could get closer to each other!" Lian Pian enthusiastically greeted Hua Meili.

Seeing her so enthusiastic, she only smiled at her a little before looking back at Jin Hua once again.

She doesn't like that girl since in the story she was a b*tch and a sl*t who was after Jin Hua and is one hell of a scheming bitch!

She is a no-good b*tch and it would be better if she were to get kicked out of the group since she is nothing but trouble!

She almost got her brother killed because of her stupidity in the novel!

How could she like her if she's such a troublemaker and also a schemer!

So that's why in the very first place she felt disgusted and an unexplainable hatred against her, it was because of that!

"Nice to meet you all! I also want you to meet my friends who were with me all this time. The beryl-colored-haired guy on my left side is Guo ZhongCheng and the crimsoned haired guy is Zhongcheng Qingren. The white-haired man is Du Hexi and the raven-haired one is Mu Hexin. They are my friends who stayed here with me when the Apocalypse started."

"Nice to meet you." Hua Meili's subordinates said the same words at the same time.

They seem wary of the other group because even Guo Zhongcheng didn't act like a child and was serious and stiff just like the first time she met him.

Also, Zhongcheng Qingren's kind eyes were replaced by that cold and indifferent look. The same eyes that she saw when she met him for the very first time.

And as for her Black Shadows, they were still the same.

Du Hexi was still giving that kind and amiable expression that made him look approachable and kind, the aura around him was like saying "I'm kind, you can trust me".

While on the other hand, Mu Hexin still has his indifferent and grim expression that says clearly 'Just an ant!'.

"Uhm.... nice to meet you, yeh?"

Yu Diqiu felt awkward seeing how serious those people in front of him were except for that kind "old" man. He does not wish to offend anyone of them.

Mingque Shui smiled and was wary of the others.

He was thinking that they are not simple.
