Chapter 34 Fight or Flight (2)

Chapter 34 Fight or Flight (2)

"Arah!"

Your right!

She is scaling the walls, not running the stairs!

Hua Meili used her speed to prevent her from falling and then used her wood ability to stop the oncoming vines and use the frozen ones to propel her up!

She was running so steadily on the walls that she looked like she was just running on a normal ground.

Nothing could stop her advance, not even those vines!

She was fast, very fast, after those heart-bursting experiences she finally succeeded and reach the top of the building where she saw the 'tree' that she was looking for.

As if the tree had sensed her, it immediately bared its fangs and attack her!

Its big and small parts that are more like a vine attacked her creating holes in its wake each time it struck at her!

Each time those ' branches' tried to land a strike on her, she either dodge or used her ability to stop it when she can no longer dodge it.

*Huff* *Huff* *Huff*

"This thing, why is this thing so active and not dead yet?! I am already trying my very best to cut its branches! I also already froze some of those vine thingies but why can this sh*t still move! Do I need to uproot this thing?"

Hua Meili froze as if she just realized something, her eyes wide.

"Wait... uproot, root, f*ck! I was scammed! This f*cker, it was playing with me all along. F*ck!"

Hua Meili could not help but cursed when she finally realized what was going on.

Quickly, she dodges the incoming thick 'vine' that is as big as an adult man's thigh.

"See if I don't pluck your f*cking ass so hard from the ground that you will beg me to put it back but no I won't because I'm going to f*cking shove some trench-like ice pole to that ass of yours to split you into two to f*cking kill you b*tch, f*ck you!!"

Hua Meili kept on cursing as she turned back and run, leaping down the building.

As she freely falls from the building, gusts of winds brush passed her as its cold temperature makes her relax.

As she kept on falling, the vines were also aggressively attacking her as she dodge, sliced, and froze it as she gracefully evades it in midair.

*Boooooom*

A blast of sand and dirt flew up the air as she gracefully landed on the ground.

Even though she was standing inside the building and most of all at the center of that certain building, her eyes glinting with a fierce light, she smirks.

"That was a great trap for idiots but it won't work on me now since I had already discovered what you had been trying to hide."

Hua Meili smiled smugly.

"When I first saw that tree atop the building, I immediately thought that it was the source of the problem. But, never had I thought that it was only a camouflage to hide where the one controlling the strings backstage really was."

Hua Meili explained her discoveries to no one as she laughs like a madman.

"The 'tree' with no leaves was actually not the tree that I am trying to find. Yes, it was the tree itself but it was not the top of the tree instead it was the roots of the tree! I thought that it was a vine at first since it's green in color and looked like a vine but in reality, it was the roots of the tree."

Hua Meili kept on saying to the air as f someone was listening to her babble nonsense on her own.

The more she speaks, the more the vines came at her as if acting crazy trying to catch her.

"To simply put, the upper portion of the tree was the one instead buried on the ground and the lower part was the one at the top. Trees in the old world were supposed to take nutrients in the ground so its root is definitely buried in the soil but things are definitely different now, who says that all tree roots must be buried in the soil to live? This thing in front of me is the perfect example that the tree could be buried upside down and still live!"

This was what Hua Meili thought as she readied herself for her final attack.

Vines or roots of different sizes were crawling and flying in all directions coming from the door, the window, the walls, and most of all the ceiling.

"Since I can't uproot you for being such a big fat a**, then I'll just let you come to me!"

Eyes flashing viciously, she eyed the rushing water that she had punctured from a big water tank that immediately flooded the area like a river.

Since the ground was made of soil, the entrance was blocked by the vines, and the water can't do anything but circle around the building and get seeped by the ground.

"With this, even if my ice ability is still not on a high level, who says I can't freeze such a small pond?"

Hua Meili smirked and jump high above the ground, the higher the better.

With two hands, she used her ice ability to the max.

A gaseous white substance flew out of her hand scattering all around her surrounding creating a smoke screen.

This seemingly harmless gas could freeze a Phase 2 Evolve Human in a second so what more if it's just a small place filled with water?

With a *plop* *plop* noise, her surroundings and even the roots that tried to attack her were now nothing but a mere statue that with just one touch would break at any moment's notice.

She continued on using her ability for over 20 minutes before she stopped, and immediately she fell to her knees gasping.

Controlling her ice ability to turn into a gaseous substance was quite hard because ice is supposed to be solid and not gas.

But by controlling it to turn into a gaseous form, she quickly froze her surroundings though it was extremely strenuous on her part since she just began experimenting with this theory of hers a few days ago.

With little experimentation and was still not tested in actual combat since she never had the chance to, so all in all this was the first time she had used this in actual combat.

But such a risk she took was worth it seeing that plopping figure right in front of her eyes trying to scamper away seeing that it had lost.

"What a naughty little thing?"

Hua Meili stared in a daze at the person who was standing by the door and grabbed the little thing that was trying to escape.

"You're here."

With a helpless smile, Hua Meili fainted but before she hit the ground Du Hexi quickly supported her, his eyes looking at her pale face.

"My lady, you did a good job. Please have a good rest now."
