Establishment of Large Groups

A few moments later. Seth again walked alone, leaving the hospital canteen area. Nancy didn't follow him and was more focused on caring for the corpse of the dead man who had been shot by Seth.

Malcolm told Nancy and several nurses to throw the body away, precisely to the hospital's backyard, which is usually used to throw away used-up medical equipment.

Nancy obeyed what he told her. Malcolm himself would arrange food rations for all patients, the old man would be assisted by several doctors except Seth.

The horrific events shown earlier were enough to prove that Seth had thrown away his humanity. A doctor without humanity would not be able to help anyone. Instead, he could potentially become a great criminal.

"Are you sure you want to keep him out?" asked Doctor Lussie to Malcolm after the old man chose to let Seth go.

"We cannot let him stay in the hospital, especially after he killed someone. Malcolm said that people would see him as a criminal and wouldn't believe us if we let Seth stay," Malcolm said.

"It's a difficult decision. Doctor Seth has been a great help in treating the patients, but his actions this afternoon destroyed people's perception of him," Malcolm continued.

Henry and Lussie nodded, both understanding the consequences Seth had to accept. The two doctors were still looking at the cafeteria floor, which was stained with a pool of blood from the dead man.

"We must try to control the people here. Don't let the peace in here turn into a catastrophe," Lussie said.

"Right now, it looks like utopia is just a fairy tale."

Seth finally arrived at the hospital's third floor, walking towards his office with his white doctor's coat visibly stained with bloodstains. The men began to avoid Seth, word spread widely among the residents of the hospital's treatment rooms.

Some patients didn't believe the rumors, but others did. The community of people there was split into two factions, believing and disbelieving in Doctor Seth's case of laser handgun usage.

The door to Seth's office opened, revealing the figures of Laura and Alfred having a warm conversation. The two sat on separate sofas, facing each other with glasses of water on the table.

"Oh, it's you, Seth. I thought it was someone else," said Alfred.

"Have you eaten?" Seth asked.

Laura and Alfred shook their heads, having not eaten anything since last night until now. Laura initially thought Seth would invite them to eat at the hospital cafeteria, but the reality was different.

"Then prepare yourselves. We'll go outside to look for food supplies," Seth said.

Alfred nodded. He stood up swiftly while stretching his body, feeling quite refreshed even though the stitches on his head still hadn't dried completely. Laura was the same. She didn't think she could stay in the hospital for long when she was fine.

Because they were too focused on their conversation, neither of them had time to hear the news circulating among the patients of this hospital. That's why they didn't know what really happened on the hospital's first floor.

The door to the study opened, revealing Seth coming out along with Alfred and Laura. The woman seemed friendly to the people along the corridor, but her friendliness was not returned to her.

"What's wrong with these people? Do they hate us?" asked Laura, whispering softly to Alfred.

"I don't know, but the look in their eyes makes me feel uncomfortable. Did anything happen while both of us were in your office?" Alfred asked Seth.

"Just a small check on the patients, nothing more," Seth said, smiling broadly, trying to hide the truth.

The three continued to walk down from the third floor to the first floor, of course, by going down the stairs on the emergency stairs. Arriving on the first floor, Seth was immediately greeted by Malcolm and two other doctors.

"I'm sorry, but it's best for the people here," Malcolm said, apologizing and feeling lost when he was forced to kick Seth out of the hospital.

"They may be able to survive as long as there are food supplies, but eventually, this place will be a mess when the supplies run out," Seth emphasized.

"The world has reached its end, Mr. Malcolm. They will try to fulfill their needs by ignoring the people around them," Seth continued.

"We'll try to hold their attitude," Malcolm said, smiling lightly as he ushered Seth away.

Laura and Alfred were so innocent, staring back and forth at Seth and the hospital behind them. Laura began to ask questions about their unusual behavior.

"Why did they have to take us? Did you manage to heal someone important?" Laura asked.

"Even their demeanor seems reluctant and afraid of you. How much influence do you have in the hospital?" asked Alfred.

Hearing the questions from his two friends made Seth unable to hold back his laughter. He did not answer either of them and continued walking through the quiet city streets without a single car passing by.

"We'd better find a shop that sells food before it runs out," Seth said.

Laura and Alfred sighed softly. They seemed to have to wait a long time for Seth to answer their questions. In the end, they decided to go with Seth to look for stores that sold groceries, especially instant and canned food.

Seth looked up, he saw that the giant alien airplane was already flying high away from the Chicago sky, not as close as before, around 25,000ft.

He walked in the other direction to the street where the shopping center stands firmly. Seth turned his head to the right and left. Several people were seen gathering supplies in large quantities; people used to know it as panic buying.

"They almost took all the food available in the supermarket," Laura said.

"I have to admit, they will have a hard time living their lives with that much inventory. They'll be so lazy and reluctant to complete floor tasks," Seth says.

"Speaking about floor tasks, isn't the 2nd floor already unlocked? Where do we find out what the game on the 2nd floor is?" asked Alfred.

Seth was hooked on knowing where the second floor was. He raised his right hand. There were three main menus: status menu, status transfer menu, and main quest menu.

He pressed the third menu, displaying a blue holographic screen that appeared from the small projector attached to Seth's system bracelet.

"What? Washington?" gasped Alfred.

"No way, we cannot possibly go there on foot. There isn't a single car that can be used after the alien invasion," Alfred complained.

"I don't think we can join the game on the second floor," replied Laura.

"You're right. We should focus on finding our food supplies," Seth said.

Alfred and Laura nodded. It seemed more realistic to them than walking from Chicago to Washington D.C. Seth and his two friends entered a supermarket, seeing that the goods inside seemed to be emptied by greedy people who had taken them without remaining.

"Those people. I wonder what will happen to them if the food runs out in this world?" Seth asked, complaining.

"Then we'll rob," said a man, startling Seth.

The man came out with five people behind him. They had formed a party with a large, blond-haired man as the leader. He seemed to be standing dressed in jeans, with a leather shirt and a bandana around his neck. Behind his back was a black stick that he had gotten from a pile of scrap metal somewhere else.

"It's too early to do that," Seth said, trying to stand before his two friends, protecting them.

"Woah, I didn't expect you would think that too. Join my group," the blond man said, reaching out a hand for Seth to join.

"Sorry, I already made a group with these two."

"Too bad, I thought we could do some fun things in this world," the man replied, stepping past Seth and his two friends.

"Be careful, the Skywatchers released their monsters. Right now, they're roaming all over the city!"
