"I thought the robbers were humans..."
"What the heck are these?!" The Hangman had to question James the moment he caught glimpses of the robotic figures.
James walked closer.
"They aren't humans, sir. They are Techspawns," James said with a serious expression. "These figures seemed to have their creator undiscovered yet, but with believable guesses from SSS+-ranked researchers, they are also NPCs in this game, and are created for a different purpose."
Tyler's brows furrowed.
"However, the Techspawns are figures with the highest crime rate in New Claraville. Up till now, no forces have been able to counter them, even the FBI, much less we, the Striders," James added.
Tyler nodded.
"The gunshots are coming from their hands, they seemed to have a gun programmed within their arms," The Hangman said as he glanced at the robots.
"The Techspawns are created with high-level technology that man couldn't imagine. They've got all kinds of weapons programmed within them, and this has made them unstoppable. Their intelligence is top-notch," James said.
"Damn, how is it gonna be possible for us to capture them?" Tyler kinda questioned himself, but James heard and replied.
"That's why we should have come in bunches, sir. With two of us facing this thing, I'm afraid we might be the ones to be captured, not the Techspawns."
Tyler chuckled inwardly.
Sigh...
He stared into the distance... Suddenly, their conversation was interrupted as Tyler noticed the opponents against the Techspawns' move. It was the S.W.A.T team.
Somehow, the S.W.A.T team had arrived before the Striders due to getting noticed that the Techspawns were going to rob the Grand Trust Bank.
Tyler only stood calm and watched.
James also watched in silence.
Although the S.W.A.T team was vastly skilled and the Techspawns find it hard to make free moves to escape... They were the highest criminal-countering body in the city, and truthfully, it hadn't been recorded that Techspawns had escaped a S.W.A.T counter before.
Though there wasn't a time when they had met, it was just certain that it was hard for them to escape the bank with the S.W.A.T team on board.
Literally, this was a moment of utter chaos.
Tarr! Tarr! Tarr!
The gunshots got louder, making Tyler feel as though this gunshot session wasn't going to end. Not a single Techspawn was killed, however, not a single S.W.A.T man was shot either.
The area was only enveloped in gunshot sounds and screams of bank workers who were doing nothing but running for their lives.
Sigh...
"I think I should join the fight," Tyler spoke after watching for a long, being ashamed of himself for just sitting back and watching while NPCs do his job.
To him, it was shameful.
But to James, it was just some kinda safety precautions.
"You shouldn't do that, sir. The S.W.A.T team is already here to do the job... We just have to sit back and find safety," James advised.
"Can't you see that the S.W.A.T team's force isn't doing any remarkable damage to them? Soon, they might run out of bullet and the Techspawns might end up killing them all.
In a way, I have to try."
Tyler said with determination without expecting any reply from James.
"Sir..."
"You can stay back if you want to, I'm not forcing you to go with me. I can do it on my own," The Hangman interrupted, only to be bombarded by several messages from his fans.
----------
[Deathmage: Don't go, Hangman, you are gonna die].
[BunnyTheButcher: Ready to die? Then go, hehe].
[Shadow_Slave56: I wish you had a shadow ability, it could have been useful at this moment. Sigh].
----------
Tyler withdrew his gaze from the screen and made it vanish as he felt his brain on the verge of bursting into shreds.
"Truly, seeking opinion from fans is really not the best decision to take," he muttered.
Sigh...
Suddenly...
Thud! Thud! Thud!
A black metallic object landed from the distance, rolling down the spot of The Hangman and James.
"A bomb!!!" Looking at the mysterious object made of pure metal, James shouted at the top of his lungs as he pushed Tyler to the ground, causing him to fall face-first into the graveled ground.
They waited for a while, and there was no explosion.
It took a minute, then minutes until several countless periods... Yet, no explosion.
"Shit!" Tyler raged in a mutter.
"It wasn't a bomb," he quickly stood up, stared at the object and commented.
It was a spherical-shaped structure made with two buttons attached to the middle side, red and green. Rainbow lights seemed to glow on the sides with a low chiming sound, making the object look like a tech device.
"Oh yeah, it should be," Tyler, as the fearless figure that he was, picked up the object and made some inspections using the Player Personal System.
----------
[Name: Star-1 Techspawn Activation/Deactivation Switch].
[Rarity: Uncommon].
[Function: Used to activate or deactivate Star-1 Techspawns. In every Techspawn army, one Techspawn must have this device on their storage circuit].
----------
"Whoa... It might have fallen from one of them," Tyler said as he smiled.
'I can't believe that Star-1 Techspawns are these brutal, the higher grade must be as bad as destructive... I'm sure they wouldn't be in New Claraville.' Tyler hoped.
Tyler turned to look at James. "Hey, I got some snacks for these bitches."
James walked close. "What's this?" He asked.
Tyler looked at the red button, knowing that this was actually going to be the deactivation button.
"You will see."
Without wasting time, Tyler pressed the red button with as much force as he could... And yeah, great storming thuds could be heard at every nook and corner.
The Techspawns lost their vitality after the unexpected attack, falling flat on the ground as they made loud storming thuds...and for the first time failed their mission to a mere F-ranked Strider.
Tyler smiled, meanwhile, James's eyes widened in shock as he found it hard to believe what had just happened.
