2 Choosing an F-rank Class

Tyler was greeted by a dark frightening atmosphere, the harsh warmth making his clothes soaked due to sweat.

However, a screen had recently popped up in front of him, ordering Tyler to create a Pseudonym for himself.

"Pseudonym? Can I have a description please?" Tyler requested with a calm and polite tone.

--------

[Pseudonym Description: The name a Player shall be addressed with in this game show. However, you are also allowed to set your real name as your Pseudonym].

--------

"Oh, that. I guess this is more like a VRMMORPG game," Tyler reacted and faced the keyboard provided for him to type his Pseudonym.

"A name I would like to be addressed as? Uhm, it shouldn't be nothing but The Hangman."

Tyler indexed "The Hangman" without hesitation and clicked the "enter" button at the side of the text bar.

----------

[You have successfully created a Pseudonym].

[Pseudonym: The Hangman].

[Please, kindly choose your Class].

----------

Shortly, a screen showing a full list of Classes appeared in front of Tyler. Quickly, Tyler attempted to take a look.

----------

[Available Classes:

Bodyguard (D)

Thief (E)

Assassin (D+)

Strider (F)].

----------

Tyler quickly stopped scrolling down the lists when he caught the word "Strider". He quickly ordered a description.

----------

[Strider Description: One who counters crimes and terrorism in the society. They save the society from danger and guard the masses].

-----------

"Oh cool, I think I'll go for this," Tyler decided and clicked on the "select" icon on the system screen. The question was why would a terrible assassin be going for a saving class when classes like Theft and the Assassin Class was in the option?

----------

[This is an F-rank Class, are you sure you want this?]

----------

"Yes of course," Tyler replied with determination.

----------

[You have successfully chosen a Class].

[Class: Strider].

[Player stats uploading... ].

[Do you want to check your stats?].

---------

"Sure," Tyler muttered.

---------

[Name: Tyler O'Reilly].

[Pseudonym: The Hangman].

[Player ID: 40330715].

[Class: Strider].

[Rank: F].

(Progress stats)

[Fans: 0].

[Super Tickets: 0].

[Super ranking: No.18,404,357].

[Fame Point: 0].

[Fame Ranking: No.15,609,043].

[Popularity: F].

---------

Tyler's eyes widened in amazement upon checking his stats. This wasn't actually because of his poor stat, but because most sections of the stats were alien to him.

Fortunately, just after his stats had been erased from the screen, another information flashed onto the screen. Luckily, it was a description of the stats.

----------

[Fans Description: #TheWorldIsWatching. This is the record of the amount of lovers you gain in this game, the more you make sweet impressions, the more you get their humble support].

[Super Ticket: In order to qualify for the next stage, Players would have to gain Super Tickets and climb the Super Rankings].

[Fame Points (Gems): Every day, a Player gets a Gem from a particular fan. It is automatic. As far as you have a fan, a Gem counts and it shall help you climb the fame ranking].

[Popularity Description: A Player shall get a popularity level depending on their position in the fame ranking].

[Gift: Some fans might be madly in love with a wonderful Player, his/her lifestyle, action, and decision and they could give you gifts in order to show it].

----------

"Whoa, is this a joke?! Why would I only have to gain fans and Super Tickets to survive?!" Angered, Tyler questioned in a yell as he stared at the system screen.

"I'm not the kind of person that would be liked by people, and I guess this is a goodbye for me."

Tyler muttered, a little disappointed and depressed.

However, the game system never paid any attention to him. After delivering every important information to Tyler, the system commenced performing direct transportation into the game world.

----------

[Commencing Transportation...]

[Commencing Location... ].

[Transportation completed].

----------

Soon, the darkness faded right in Tyler's eyes, and a visual picture appeared right after. The heat was gone and was replaced by the normal aura of a normal world.

What's more? Tyler found himself in an office. Old and crowded, the office looked messed up and scattered, with a lot of complaint papers lying on a table that Tyler suddenly saw himself sitting next to.

Two other Striders could be seen stopping a lot of people from coming any closer into the office, and Tyler didn't have to be told before knowing that they were his followers, his employees.

"Please, Officer. Our village is being attacked by the Horned Bears for the fifth time. We really need your help or we all will perish."

"Officer, our town has been robbed again and we got ten casualties, please we need absolute security around our walls!"

"Hangman, my daughter was kidnapped by the Thorn Gang and it had been two weeks since she was away! Please I need your help!"

"Off..."

"Enough!" Tyler had had enough. Deep down, he was shocked to have found himself in this situation, but he only just had to act like the boss around there.

Since he chose the Strider Class, he was just going to do his job.

Also, gradually, memories flashed into Tyler's mind as time went on. He suddenly recognized everything and everyone like he had been there before. He also got the memory that he had a girlfriend.

"James, how many unsolved cases do we have at the moment?" Tyler asked one of the junior Striders. A young chap with pale skin and blonde hair.

"Three hundred and sixty-two, Officer," James replied politely and respectfully.

'Holy shit!' Tyler cursed, clenching his fist.

"Alright. Arrange the cases according to the first complaint to the last," Tyler looked at his wristwatch and saw that it was already 6pm in the evening, "we'll begin our operation tomorrow."

"Sure, Officer!" James responded with a slight bow and made his way out of the office.

"Karl, order the people to go home and promise our services tomorrow," Tyler commanded the second junior Strider.

"Sure, Officer!" Karl replied with a polite and respectful tone.

As Karl delivered the message, Tyler got a message from the game system.

----------

[You have gained a Fan].

[Fan name: Dead_Phantom34].

[You have gained a Gem and have up-ranked to No.9,034,641 in the fame ranking].

----------

"Wow, that's so fast," Tyler muttered in surprise as he read the message.

Gaining a fan in just less than an hour after entering ApexRise Online was much of an amazement, and Tyler couldn't help but celebrate his achievement.

"Yeah!"

He stood up from his seat and walked out of the office to catch a glimpse of this game world and just at first glance, Tyler felt the aura of absolute reality.

[First Stage of the First Realm].

[New Claraville].

[Stage Task: Be among the Top 10 Million Players in the Super ranking to enter the Next Stage].

[Duration: 1 Month].

Heaving a sigh, Tyler let out a low-toned and determined statement.

"Let's do this."
