5 A Unique Ability Crystal

Tyler slowly walked further, approaching the winged beast with his gaze fixed on it. The beast itself also had its gaze fixed on Tyler, however, it didn't seem to have made a single move.

Not even a roar was yelled.

Enzo had left Tyler without hesitation after noticing his determination to confront the SS+-ranked winged beast. He knew how deadly battling a Demonic Beast God would be, much less fighting an SS+-ranked one.

Although it wasn't like Tyler had full confidence in himself... He was just an F-ranked Strider with no Ability. Nonetheless, Tyler knew that running away was never the best option.

After all, he was sure he was going to die one day. It just only depends on the exact time. Because he knew deep down that he that kills by the sword shall die by the sword.

A deadly assassin like him has destroyed too much, and he knew that he would never be spared.

Upon approaching the beast, a few messages popped up on the system screen. Tyler only read them in a few seconds, trying not to be distracted.

'Well, I am confronting this beast and that is final.'

Tyler declared inwardly with a look of determination and continued approaching the Demonic Beast God.

As he got closer, the winged beast suddenly started making moves. The beast moved a few times around the same spot, letting out a slight growl and flapping its wings.

Plus, the beast tried leaning tightly against the wall as though trying to protect something behind. It was as though the rocky wall behind it was an openable structure which made Tyler more curious.

"I expect the beast to have charged at me, even before Enzo had left. But it seems calm and collected and wouldn't leave that particular spot."

Tyler muttered in astonishment, his gaze hitting the rear of the Demonic Beast God's standing spot.

"If it truly won't leave that spot, it surely means that it's protecting something," Tyler guessed.

Shockingly, while Tyler tried peeking through behind the beast, it used its wings to obstruct his view. The Demonic Beast God's face showed a clear indication of suspicion and wouldn't just stop guarding the wall behind it.

Tyler tried all he could to catch a glimpse of what was behind the winged beast, but it was visibly clear that the Demonic Beast God was faster and smarter.

The Hangman kept trying until he got pissed off and decided to do it the hard way.

"I guess I would have to kill it now and know what it's hiding behind it."

Although, Tyler had no magical powers and no potent weapon to use. It was just a mere dagger with a common Rarity. He had never known how dangerous Demonic Beast Gods were and had never come across it before so this was his first confrontation since his life as a Strider... Anyhow and anyway, Tyler believed he could slit the throat of this thing.

He has no magical skill nor a treacherous weapon, but he has the high-class skill of an assassin.

Tyler had to climb to the top of the den by following a different path not close to the beast's spot. However, the beast still didn't withdraw his gaze from Tyler.

Tyler slowly walked towards it after reaching the upper area of the den. Yet, even though Tyler was approaching with an act of killing intents, the beast was still standing its ground without leaving that spot. It would only let out a slight roar and lean tightly to the wall.

"This thing is crazy," Tyler commented, wondering why the beast was so immersed in guarding the wall.

After getting about seven meters away from the winged beast, Tyler halted and looked deep into its eyes.

Only what Tyler could observe was a desire to defend. This Demonic Beast God never acted like the demonic creature that it was. It was as though its demonic essence had been snuffed out of it, and had been replaced by a calm essence that manifests the desire to protect.

"How could this be? Who could have done this?" Tyler couldn't help but ask, but unfortunately got no answer to his question.

"Just low-ranked creatures like Horned Bears would raid an entire village and kill as much humans as they want in an instant, and an SS+ Demonic Beast God couldn't do anything in front of a single person... Someway and somehow, there must be something wrong."

Tyler heaved a sigh and decided to make a move. Right now, killing the tamed beast and finding what it was securing behind was Tyler's prior aim.

Holding the grip of the dagger tight, Tyler charged at the winged beast and jumped, landing on its back with a great impact. The beast quickly reacted by flapping its wings and struggling to bring Tyler down, but it was too weak to stop The Hangman.

Without wasting a second, Tyler cut through its throat several times, causing a gush of thick blue liquids out of its neck. The beast stumbled instantly while Tyler quickly jumped out of its back before it landed on the rocky floor.

Rrr.

The so-called SS+ Demonic Beast God wailed in pain, gradually losing its vitality.

"Sorry buddy. I just have to see what is in here," Tyler said with a look of pity, withdrawing his gaze from the dying beast. Actually, Tyler didn't want to watch it die in his eyes... He might have been a merciless assassin lately, but now, Tyler was really a changed person.

He had been trying to stop being heartless, however, it always seemed like it wasn't working.

Shortly, the wall behind the winged beast suddenly opened, and a massive portion of lights gleamed from the inside. It was so harsh that Tyler had to cover his eyes with his arms to prevent himself from getting blindfolded.

"What the hell is that?!" Tyler mused. The lighting seemed not to be fading away at any moment, and this made Tyler more angered.

Now, he couldn't help but shield his face and go take a look at the source of the immense lighting.

Tyler only took a few steps forward before noticing the source of the mysterious light. Just as his gaze met the perplexing substance, Tyler's eyes widened in shock.

And the game system sounded.
