7 A New Path
Tyler was stunned.
He spent a while staring at the system screen, wondering what sort of ability he had just obtained.
"What the hell is that?! Is this an ability or a mathematical feature?" Tyler questioned himself, his gaze stuck right on the system screen.
"I expected an Elemental Control Ability, and now I got this?!"
"Shit!"
Tyler cursed, his face painted with looks of disappointment. "For a weak Player like me, this ability is useless," he added.
Tyler looked at the emptied crystal lying on the rocky floor... He sighed. He tried to consider the fact that this crystal was a unique one, and decided to get a description of this Ability.
Although both useful and useless things can be unique, and Tyler didn't expect anything amazing from an Ability termed "Probability Influence". In his entire life watching fantasy movies, playing video games and reading various web novels in his younger age, Tyler had never heard or seen an ability like "Probability Influence".
Inquiring for a description of the unique Ability, the game system popped up in an instant.

Tyler froze in shock. His eyes widened as he stared at the game system's description on the screen.
"Whoa! This is... Remarkable."
Tyler felt his aching heart at rest. He had already considered his Ability as a useless one, and now, he could really punch himself in the face for making such consideration.
"This is really good, I guess I was lucky," Tyler said with a smile on his face.
Without even sparing him more time to celebrate, the game system sounded loudly in his ears.

Having nothing to say, Tyler made the game system screen vanish and made his way outside the den.
Truthfully, Tyler didn't understand the whole aspect of the Probability Influence Ability. He had no idea of how to use it, and also had zero idea of how to make it work.
"But, if magic truly exist in this game world, then it should be mana," Tyler guessed.
Anything it could be, he was determined to understand and become fit to use Probability Influence in no time. Because it was certain that without a magical power, Players can't excel in ApexRise Online.
The mysterious world was full of competition, and only the strong shall prevail.
Walking out of the den, Tyler got no sight of his men. The entrance was deserted, and not even a single shadow was seen.
"Where have they gone?" Tyler wondered. "We were hear to slay the Horned Beasts, why the hell did they evacuate the den without my orders?"
Tyler was disappointed, slightly angered. He glanced around the area and peeked through every corner but still found no one.
Sigh...
He then thought for a while.
'I should go kill those things on my own... Maybe with my Ability, I can kill them all.'
Sigh...
He attempted to walk back into the den but halted. "We have searched around the den and there are no traces of the Horned Beasts. Maybe, they don't reside in the den," Tyler assumed.
He turned to look round once more, and just as he switched gazes, he caught a glimpse of a tiny path. This pathway was covered by tall carpet grasses, making it not quite visible from afar.
Taking a long look at it, Tyler believed that this path was leading to somewhere dangerous and hidden. He slowly made few steps forward, observing the inner area.
As he got closer, he could see footsteps of some unidentified creatures. They were kind of cyclical just like the footprint of a footless figure.
Here and there, these footprints smashed the muddy ground, causing chills to run down Tyler's spine.
"It must be them... The Horned Beast," he muttered.
"If they truly aren't in the den, then they must be somewhere in that bushy region."
Sigh...
Tyler only had to believe that it was only the Horned Beast that are in the bushy region. If by any chance he run into a deadly beast other than a Horned Beast, he would be a deadman.
He just have to take the risk, and practice the act of braveness... Tyler had been a brutal killer lately, he had been one of the world's greatest misery. But now, he wanted to change that point, and become the world's greatest joy.
This was why he chose a new path in ApexRise Online: To show his change of lifestyle, erase his past and make his present matter.
Even though he dies in the process, Tyler was ready to do anything to make the people happy.
Yeah, they are just NPCs... But Tyler didn't care. He aimed to reach the last stage of ApexRise Online and get a chance to live a new life in the real world.
Regardless of everything, he decided to let go of his pursuit for revenge.
Yes, Tyler didn't just became an assassin for no reason.
Literally, he only wanted those who caused him so much pain to feel it in double fold.
Nonetheless...
"Now, let's just reach the last stage of this damned game."
