Chapter 21

"The earth opened and swallowed it whole," Sophia uttered as she was now with her knees and palms on the floor, looking for the object that Jamie lost.

"If we do not find it, what are we gonna do? Let's just make sure it does not fall into the hands of Shiro because I will be misunderstood and he will most likely want to kill me. I am too young to die~." Jamie passed his hand through his hair in absolute stress, as his body halted in front of Sophia who was trying to look under the nightstand.

"I found it!" Sophia exclaimed happily, bringing the storm on his head at a stop as she picked the unused condom up from the floor and showed it to Jamie with a smile on her face for her achievement.

"Sophia, Jay has- ..." Lisa sudden opened the door of her bedroom and froze in place witnessing the scene that could be highly misunderstood as Sophia was basically standing on her knees before Jamie and was holding a condom in her hands. It literally made her mind travel to places she shouldn't and as such panic and quickly enter the room and shut the door safely behind her.

"What's going on in here? I missed one night from this house and you turned it upside down?!" Lisa yelled at them in a low voice as Sophia hurried to get back on her feet.

"What are you thinking, you idiot! It's not what it seems. This silly person here apparently doesn't care where he forgets his belongings and that's all this is!" Sophia threw the object at Jamie's forehead, now angry with his stupidity and then she went to her friend and slapped her shoulders, as a punishment for daring to think something so inappropriate about her.

"That's great then, I almost fainted from shock" Lisa left a breath of relief before a thought popped into her mind and brought her panic again.

"Sophia, if hypothetically speaking, if we tell Jay who is waiting for you in the living room that Jamie is here to get the condom he forgot in your room, do you think he would take it calmly, huh?!" Lisa pulled her closer and whispered to her ear, only for her to hear, for she had gotten into her room, to begin with only to tell her that Jay was looking for her.

"My God, what the heck does he want? What sins am I paying for!" Sophia lost her cool for this morning surely had started chaotically for her then she rubbed her forehead as the headache she had felt like it instantly got worse.

"Well, this time I'm going to help you out just because I pity you cause you are also hangover from yesterday." Lisa offered her help and Sophia couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at her in disbelief.

"Okay, don't look at me like that. I confess you will ask a favour in return. Go to your desperate boy now and just keep him away from this room." Lisa admitted then opened the door and pushed Sophia out, closing the door again immediately and facing Jamie who was looking at her with confusion for they have been ignoring his existence and whispering to each other, letting him feel left out and curious.

As Lisa starting lying to him and occupying him from leaving the room, Sophia in the meantime had reached the living room, where she found Jay waiting for her with a bouquet of red roses in hand and a soft smile on his lips.

"Good morning Sophia. How are you feeling today?" He asked her kindly and Sophia just gave him an irritated look.

"Seriously, what you do not understand? I thought I had clarified my position towards you Jay." Sophia cut him short as she really had no appetite for other trouble in her head.

"I know, I just wanted to bring you these flowers since I know they relax you." Jay reached the bouquet out towards Sophia but no matter how much he waited, she does not seem willing to receive it.

"I don't accept this." Sophia rejected him dryly since he didn't seem to be taking the hint no matter how many seconds ticked by but Jay didn't seem surprised by her words, instead he just pulled back the bouquet in his embrace and passed her by, intending to go to Sophia's room.

"Eh, where are you going? Bring them here, I'll take them!" Sophia yelled at him as she prevented him from going to her room for obvious reasons and just rushed to block his way and grab the flowers away from him.

He smiled at her after she took flowers in her hands then leaned in and kissed her tenderly on the forehead, making Sophia get stunned in place by his unexpected action.

"I wrote a note for you, so please read it." He turned around and left immediately after he spoke those words for he had achieved his small goal of the day which was nothing else but to deliver those flowers which he was aware that held many memories of them for her. Memories of their good days that he was hoping that would creep back in her mind every time she looks at that bouquet.

"I hope they make your mood the way you make mine, every time your kisses come to my mind" Sophia read the note that was placed between the roses and found herself pursing her lips in dissatisfaction for in her mind she ended up cursing at herself because she became instantly aware that her words didn't match the beat of her heart.

Dimitra shared her script with the people who have all gathered in Christin's apartment and the other girls who will participate in her mini-film.

"Dimitra, let me ask something. What business does she have here if she will not participate?" Christin voiced her little complaint as she glanced at Lisa, who was sitting upright, with her back to the wall, eating chocolate chips, looking unbothered.

"She had nothing better to do, and since she is just sitting there and promised she won't bother anyone~. Just ignore her" Dimitra replied politely for it was Christin's apartment but also her project and as thus she had a saying to whom she brings along at meetings.

"So listen carefully now as I will explain more or less your roles and then everyone will be taking home a script which you should study." Dimitra made sure to get the conversation going along with the main reason that they had to meet up, to begin with, by standing from her seat and walking around the room.

"Theo here will play Antre, a Frenchman who has come as a tourist to the small village and stays at the hotel which is owned by Anna, called Lyra in the play." At the sound of Dimitra's words, Anna raised her eyes to meet Theo's their eyes meeting briefly before they both broke eye contact abruptly.

"Lyra and Antre, one night, go out late at night together to go to a cave, along with some friends that Andre met in town recently." As Dimitra continued her explanation, Lisa threw a chocolate chip on Christin's head, to bring her to reality, since she totally looked like she was zoning out somewhere while staring at Jamie which was concentrated on the script and Dimitra's words. A combination that somehow made the guy look serious and attractive.

"Christin will play Lyra's girlfriend, and her name will be Hero and Reina is Jin's Girlfriend, who is one of Andre's recent friends. And Jamie -which is called Lian in the movie- will be Jin's brother who decided to go with him to visit the cave. " Dimitra smiled as in her mind her movie played great and the more she thought about it the more she was sure that she will get A + for this project.

"Ooooh, I smell a thriller" Lisa commented, laughing wickedly as she imagined the fun she will have on set, with the girls screaming all the time.

"Yes it is, that's why I expect a lot in terms of your acting. I wish you good luck." Dimitra ended her speech and Christin felt a rush of nervousness take over her, at the thought and only that she had to act something like that. She had volunteered to help but nor she nor her roommates were actresses and Dimitra's expectations sure sounded scary.

"Dimitra, love I wish you the best, and please make sure you make a certain someone suffer extra." Christin just threw an irritated look at Lisa as she knew that she was referring to her.

"Will you bicker a whole life?" Reina asked with a teasing smile on her lips that faded from her lips as soon as she noticed Jamie looking her way.

"Christin, don't worry, after all, Lisa has her own project to do, so even if I torture you, I don't think she will have time to come and see the shooting." Dimitra's words brought a smile of joy to Christin's lips as she felt relief that no matter how many times she fails at acting, at least Lisa won't be around to make fun of her.

Lisa on the other hand fell unhappy upon hearing the reminder that she had a project simply because she was partnered with Shiro on that.

Everyone around her started discussing about dates and further information about the film while Lisa took out her phone and texted Shiro to remind him of the obligation they most likely are both willing to avoid but it had to be done.

At the end of this project, there will be no reason for the two of them to interact and that was all she needed. Distance from him and the feelings he causes to her.
