The Other Woman

"Who is she, she‟s gorgeous"

"I heard she‟s the daughter of Count Lucillris, Pluvia"

"Her dress...it‟s similar to lady‟s Amalthea"

She wore a light baby green dress with magnolias stitched on the hem of her skirt towards her waist, mine‟s a baby blue with gardenias stitched from the belt down on the skirt.

They were similar, similar enough to be awfully compared, and I know who will be the winner already.

"Oh my how dare that mere count‟s daughter wear the same dress as lady Amalthea"

"She‟s lucky Lady Amalthea is kind, if she met with other Marquess‟ daughters, she‟ll probably be exiled from the high society"

Yet there are also words.

"With just once glance, that count‟s daughter won already"

"She‟ll probably go home crying because of this Pluvia"

"The count definitely had some sorcerer to get this offspring"

What hurts even better was him staring at her only, and only her. As if she was his whole universe. But I can‟t do anything, she‟s Pluvia Lucillris, the blond hair and hazel eyes girl, the heroine of the novel, the main character of the story, the one destined to be with him, Iarlaith Tuffinliver.

"Greeting to lady Amalthea and Sir Iarlaith, I am Pluvia Lucillris" she greeted with a smile on her lips.

"Pardon Lady Amalthea" Her eyes widened "It was not my intentions to wear the same dress as you do"

"It‟s fine don‟t worry" My head was feeling dizzy already.

"My lady, will you be my second dance" He offered with a blush on his face.

I knew that he was in love. "The honor will be mine"

When the music started, it allured people to dance and swayed to the rhythm.

In the middle of the ballroom, the two dance together so beautifully and perfectly as if they‟ve been practicing this forever.

With her platinum locks and his ocean blue eyes, everyone idly imagine what their offspring would look like.

"Amal are you okay?" Jonathan asked seeing how I was frowning for a long minute.

"Oh, I‟m great" The corner of my lips creaked a little enough to make me more suspicious.

"Do you like the son of Tuffinliver"

Dancing with your own brother, I guess there‟s nothing to impress. "Kind of"

He huffed a sigh and looked at me in the eyes, "Amal, don‟t lose hope. The two were not engaged yet"

"He fell in love already. From the first moment we met, I know he is meant to be with her"

"Ple-", "If we compare a magnolia and a gardenia together, even though both are white and fragrance, if one is brown and crumbled, people are going to pick magnolia"

His eyes softened as he looked at me. Small glances to the sides, I was bitter seeing how good the two look together.

"If only I was better", "He‟ll never love you if you think like that"

"No, I am just too average to be in his league" at some point, we were debating.

"Amalthea, It‟s good you know how to pick a man, and I‟m happy you fall in love with the right one. But if you‟re acting so insecure then it‟s never going to be easy to make them love you back"

"Stop it John. I know I‟m boring and plain looking, I came to accept it already and it‟s the truth."

"You‟re ignorant"

We continued to dance waiting for the finish. After the whole debate, or fight rather, we avoid eye contacts.

The two of us was frowning and mad at one another. Not that I hate him but why convince when the truth was right in his face already.

I‟m so bland and plain, so simple and boring, the boy of my dream will never love me.

Iarlaith will chase after someone in his league, as attractive as he is.

Pluvia was the perfect example of a fairytale princess, the one that will end up with the hero. They are the protagonists. And I, was just the side- characters that no one will remember.
