Antagonist of My Heart

Standing under the big chandelier, both of them stared at each other. The calmness of the church couldn’t conceal the cold atmosphere. The priests’ words ringed in her ears. She batted her eyelids of boredom as a small sigh escaped her lips. ‘For all the efforts I made to have you in my life, you called me a Villainess. But you never realized, all I ever wanted was a happy ending for you. I gave up. When I look back, I realized I never fought for you, and I never tried to be the happy ending for you. Now that I know, I will have you no matter what it takes.’ She thought to herself as she stared at his dark orbs. Her heart tingled with mixed feelings. She raised herself and pressed a kiss against his lips. His usually stoic expression was rather a sad one. His dimmed eyes fluttered with weird emotion. *** She was serious when she kissed the man she loved goodbye and that marked the start of a new journey for her. She was sure that this time, It was all going to end on a happy note for her. No drama, no hate. It was meant to be simple and sweet romance but expectations could only disappoint her. Instead of a new sweet romance she was brought back to the square one with her first love. Was she sure she had moved on? YES. *** Sang Qian sighed. “Ugh!” She let out an annoyed grunt. Before he could step away. She held the collar of his shirt and pulled his torso closer. Wang Zhao was careful of her moves. Her eyes had a cold glint in them. She leaned in, her acting bossy was something that made his heart skip a beat. She was so close to him that he was ready to kiss her. She brushed her lips against his. Their lips touched. He leaned forward to press them together but she leaned backwards. He paused and looked up. He saw her smirk. “You’re not the only one who can play with me..” she sighed. Wang Zhao held a sudden urge to take her down. He gulped the lump in his throat. [NO CLICHES & NO LONG BORING CHAPTERS GUARANTEED] Add it to your library!! Read my other book - Totally opposites? Sang Qian’s rivalry (FB)

(Flashbacks continues)

A month later,

Sang Qian was working in her office when she got a call on the landline. She lifted it up to her ear," Yes?" The receptionist's voice was a bit shaky," Chairman is here. He seems furious and wants to see in the meeting room." Sang Qian hasn't been home since the accident, nor has he visited her in the hospital.

Her father and herself never had a sweet relationship. He always demanded her to be perfect and she kept up with his standards. He loved his older daughter more than Sang Qian. She pressed her lips in a thin line and sighed," I will be there shortly."

She lifted herself up from the chair and looked at herself in the small mirror. She noticed the dark circles visible under her eyes. She panicked and hurriedly pulled out some concealer, applying it under her eyes. Satisfied with how she looked she walked straight to the meeting room, greeting back employees on the way.

When she entered the room," Surprised to see you here, father." Her eyes swept over his cold face. His eyes beamed with anger and frustration. She noticed a few other board members with him. She bowed lightly to them," My greetings."

Mr. Sang banged his hand on the round table in the meeting room. Sang Qian's body shivered in surprise," D-dad.." he cut her off," How dare you mix your personal life matters into your professional life?! You cancelled the project in between with the Wangs?! Did you ask for my permission? I am so disappointed in you Sang Qian."

Sang Qian gulped lightly as surprised washed over her. She felt anxious when she heard the news. According to her she didn't take any action. Every transactions has been going smoothly. She didn't contact Wang Zhao but she was sure everything was going well.

Mr.Sang threw the newspaper on the table," what is this?! Seriously?!" Her hands shuddered with anxiety as she lifted the paper and her eyes went wide when she read the heading.

'The New CEO of Wang corporations Cancels the collaboration with newly engaging Fashion line.'

'His statements make it clear, that it was the CEO of 'Beauty with Boldness' who initiated it.'

'Sang Qian's rivalry with his mysterious Girlfriend might be the reason.'

'Sang Qian was seen dressed as a beggar trying to spy on someone in the slums.'

'Was Sang Qian rejected by the CEO of Wang Corporations?'

Beneath it was a picture of her, Wang Zhao; and Mi Chan's face was blurred. She curled her fists and threw the paper aside," that's not true dad. It's all fake! I swear."

Her father stepped further and slap! He smacked her across the face," You better remember this Sang Qian. You have to get out of this mess on your own. From now on, you better not call me your father. You have always been a disappointment to me. Didn't I warn you not to come back?!"

Sang Qian's cheek stung with pain. It burned, not only that, but her eyes and heart burned too. The pain of betrayal was too much. There was only one person to do all of this, Wang Zhao. She gulped down the pain and looked back up at her father," Fine. I will make sure, I take care of it completely. I won't be a disappointment this time dad."

Mr. Sang nodded," you better not be. If you fail, you will again be an orphan for life." Sang Qian could care less about the humiliation. She wanted to run away but her feet were nailed to the ground. She curled her fist on her sides. Her heart ached as if it would fail any moment.

She took a deep breath. Without any further thoughts, she walked outside the room and ordered her secretary," I want to visit Wang Zhao's office now!" She yelled and Mr.Xia bowed his head. She bit her lip and her Hand traveled to her heart which ached very bad. Her body was shaking with anxiousness. Once again she was hurt and slapped in the face.

***

Sang Qian walked through the corridor. Her eyes were red, blazing with anger, frustration and sadness. She felt everyone comment on her, mock her and shame her. She could care less about it.

She reached the too floor and without thinking anything else she barged straight into Wang Zhao's office. She witnessed something that pierced her heart even further. She witnessed Wang Zhao kissing Mi Chan's forehead before they both looked at her.

Wang Zhao started at her for a few seconds before he nodded," I was waiting for you." Sang Qian smiled," and I answered." Her eyes were red. She gulped lightly and looked at Mi Chan with the same smile," Can you please leave us alone? Don't worry, I no longer wish to be someone he likes."

Her body was shuddering with anger. Mi Chan smiled back," Okay!" As she passed by Sang Qian, she gave her a slight smirk which made Sang Qian want to smack her but then she controlled herself.

After the door was closed, she looked back at Wang Zhao. He leaned against the table with his arms crossed over his chest. She blinked away the tears," why did you do this?" He nodded," good question to start with. But before I answer this question, you have to answer mine."

He stepped ahead, his eyes cold, head raised with pride," why did you send those men to attack Mi Chan? Why did you spy on her? Why did you.. try to hurt her when she lived with you? Why did you play that publicity stunt? Only because you liked me? But you know what, you were degrading in my eyes every passing day because you... never deserved my attention. You are a filthy person. You hurt someone I loved and adored. How could I let that slide?"

Sang Qian's lips curved up and a laugh escaped her lips," You know what? Yes I did everything for you. But you never asked me if all that you knew was the truth or not? You never once came to me and..." she was cut off," You have no right to speak here. Leave. I can't help you."

Her eyes widened. No, she couldn't just go away like this. She needed to get things settled because if not, her father would hate her more. She gulped lightly," I know what you want." He raised a brow.

She clenched her fists and got down on her knees. She kneeled her head with her hands in front," Please get me out of this mess. My father will kick me out of the family. I don't want to lose my family. Just this once, help me." She begged him and felt so vulnerable.

Tears rolled down her eyes and she sobbed. Not because she wanted his help, but because she wanted to be vanished. She had lost her self respect to the man she had loved. He won. It was truth, everything is fair in love and war. Even losing oneself so much that they can never get back their real self.

Wang Zhao was looking at her slightly surprised but all he did was utter his final words," I will help you this once. Now that you begged to me. But remember Sang Qian, You will never win against me. You are just an antagonist."

Sang Qian's heart clenched when she looked at him through her teary eyes. She nodded her head," Just an antagonist."

'who wishes for you happy ending.' Was left unsaid.

She had lost the war she thought she ruled. She had lost her pride and everything. She gulped the pain down and stood up. Wiping he eyes, she put on her shades and mask before she left.

After that incident, the rumours died down. Wang Zhao made an open statement about himself being single and Sang Qian not having an interest in him. He also made clear that the project was canceled with mutual consent due to their own reasons, but he also promised to work things out between the brands.

Sang Qian on the other hand, disappeared completely for two to three months. When she returned, she had changed a lot. She had turned weak. She dressed in casual attires; always had mask and shades on. Her skin was rather dull and she had developed a habit of drinking. Her wrists were covered in bandages.

She was sitting in a club when her phone ringed. She noticed Wang Yuhan's number flashed on her screen. Her lips curved up," Oh Yuhan, I am back." She heard a crisp voice on the other end," Are you at the club again?! Qian this is the last time."

She nodded her head, ended the call in midst and smirked; she switched her mobile off, before she ordered a drink. After she could no longer feel the pain in her heart, she decided to stop drinking. Sang Qian sighed as she leaned against the counter.

Her eyes focused on a particular someone who was staring back. She frowned," Wang Zhao?" She asked herself and raised her head up. He was staring at her, standing not too far away. She blinked as she smiled at him. Her first love.
