"Saving a Girl in a Forest"

He woke up in the morning. Luckily, nothing attacked him while he was asleep. He also felt that his own mana has been restored. 'So, the only way to restore mana is by sleeping? I wonder if there are any mana potion like in a game.'

After he did a little exercise, he started to wander through the forest again. He encountered many enemies. Their number is in fact much more than last night but they felt weaker. Nothing really gave Raka trouble.

His sword is also helped. It seems that the sword helped him to use mana more efficiently. All he did was make the sword enchanted with an electric shock so it paralyzed the enemy as he did with the orc. It seems like electric shock didn't require much mana and also it can be enchanted to the sword right before the fight so he can use world mana to charge it.

What happened next is basically him defeating many minor monsters. 'It seems that this place is only dangerous at night,' he thought. However, he hadn't found the monkey-like monster that he faced before he can use magic.

Then, at the noon when the sun was right above him, he heard a sound. It was a sound of battle. He never saw a monster fight each other, so he thought it must be human. He ran into the direction of the battle sound. Then, he saw five monkey-like monsters were surrounding a fire vortex.

'A mage?' His hope was raised. He finally found another fellow human being. However, things didn't look good. Five versus one is just unfair. He also doubted if he could make it against three of them, let alone five.

Then the vortex exploded. All the monkey took a defensive stance and suddenly a fire was shot into one of the monkey's heads like a bullet. The fading fire vortex revealed a girl who was pointing his staff to the dead monster. However, the girl didn't realize there was one monster behind her. She defended herself from the first attack but failed to defend at the second attack. She was blasted and are about to get attacked again.

She won't make it for another attack! He decided to interfere and started to conjure an electric bolt. He needed time to conjure it and right before the monster destroyed the girl's last defend, he conjured it and paralyzed the monster.

"I'm sorry, guys," said the girl.

"What are you apologizing for?" Raka stepped in by taking a leap for dramatic effect. The rest of the monkey hesitated to move.

Nadia couldn't believe her own sense. Not because she was saved but because she saw a human that has his own mana flow.

'That's impossible,' she still couldn't believe her own sense.

"What are you?" she asked.

The man turned around and approached her. "I am a fellow human, just like you."

"Bu- But a human doesn't have mana flow!" she didn't believe him. As she said that, the paralyzed monster started to move but before it was able to make any threat, the man cut its head off.

"Huh? Interesting. Let's save that talk for later. Now, we have three monkeys trying to kill us. Do you have any idea of what are they?" the man ignored her remark and instead asked for her cooperation.

After being silent for a while, she finally replied, "I know what they are. They are called Mony't. One of many monsters that live here in this Forest of Illusion."

The man nodded, "… ah, Forest of Illusion. That must be why…."

"You don't even know this forest?"

"I didn't. But now I know. I'm kind of a tourist that lost in this forest"

"Tourist?" she was confused.

"Nah, forget it. Let's kill these monsters."

"Before that …," she paused, "who are you."

Raka readied his weapon. "I am Raka. Just call me Raka. How about you?"

"I'm Nadia."

"Okay Nadia, Rest a bit. I will be depending on you."

With that, Raka lunge to one of the Mony't and paralyzed it. 'First, I will paralyze them all and then killing them one by one easily. However, I must do it quickly. They have quite enough amount of resistance. I didn't expect that monster that attacked her would start moving again in a short time.'

The first Mony't was paralyzed. Then, he lunged to another Mony't and tried to hit it. Unfortunately, his attacked were dodged easily by the two Mony't. Realized he couldn't paralyze them, he quickly rushed to the paralyzed Mony't and kill it.

'They are smarter than I thought.'
