Chapter 10: Low on food

Arriving at the gym, Hu Zhu saw many students huddled together in the corners of the room, some were talking amongst themselves while others were alone muttering incomprehensibly, signs of distress were present everywhere, and psychological damage from long exposure to darkness from the lack of windows made the condition worse than it already is.

Some student manage to keep their sanity but their rope is running thin, as it responsibilities only so long before insanity takes over.

Gazing back to the group talking in the middle Shangguan Bing Xue, Wu Yijun, Chen He, Liang Peng and a few of the university teachers are discussing something.

Shangguan Bing Xue noticing our arrival nodded to herself and Hu Zhu and Bai Zemin joined in their discussion.

"Chen he, I understand your worry but we cannot stay here any longer, as you can see the sanity of the rest is getting thinner and thinner by the day, and our food supply is limited, if we do not move then I'm afraid we can't stay alive any longer" Professor Kang Chao pointed out the problem.

"I understand the problem sir, but the problem is we do not have any destination that we can go to, and with such a large group, wondering around is going to get us in trouble zombies or otherwise" Chen He, in his usual cool demeanor tried to calm down Professor Kang Chao.

"I- I see, sorry for pushing all these responsibilities on you Chen" Professor Kang Chao realized he was distressed and irrational and quickly apologized.

"Don't worry, I know you're worried for all the people, we promised we could find somewhere safe to move" Chen reassured him and Professor Kang Chao left after needing to recollect his thoughts.

Shangguan Bing Xue who was silent turned to Hu Zhu and Bai Zemin "How is your injury?".

"Apart from my shoulder, all the other injuries are healed" Hu Zhu answered first.

"My injury is healing fast, give me a couple of days to heal and I'll completely heal, thank you for asking" Shangguan Bing Xue and Hu Zhu were unsurprised by the news, Shangguan Bing Xue also noticed while treating Bai Zemin his flesh is healing on their own, she knew the stronger you get the faster you can heal.

Take the example of Hu Zhu, she yesterday was un-evenly walking because of her injury but today her walking is normal now.

"So why did you call us?" Hu Zhu asked Shangguan Bing Xue back.

"I want all the opinions of everyone capable of fighting here" Shangguan Bing Xue cut to the chase.

"Should we move now or stay, the situation inside here is getting bad but the outside is much worse, with the constant rain, it will cause many of the students and teacher to be sick likely".

"Or we should wait for the rain to stop, though it's unknown to us when will the rain stop, it might take a day, weeks, months, without weather broadcast we can't predict the weather accurately, for those who want to move somewhere raise your hand, and those oppose keep them down" Shangguan Bing Xue laid the pros and cons of leaving or staying in this place.

All of them thought about it and after everyone seemed to have their answer Shangguan Bing Xue counted down for all of us to vote at the same time.

Wu Yijun and Chen He voted to move while.

Shangguan Bing Xue, Liang Peng, Hu Zhu, and Bai Zemin decided to wait for the rain to stop

"2 against 4, it's decided that we shall wait and see for now".

After that little meeting, all of us scatted to do our things.

One day passed after the meeting: Hu Zhu trained her control with Air manipulation, she learned how rudimentarily swirl the wind, creating a tiny tornado on her finger.

Two days passed: Hu Zhu continued to train her air manipulation and managed to compress a small amount of wind but it exhausted her mana too quickly.

Three days passed, the supply was getting thinner and thinner, and more students were quickly losing hope of a rescue team but like a miracle, the constant noise that had haunted the outside suddenly stopped, some students knew what this meant and celebrated.

Shangguan Bing Xue, Wu Yijun, Chen He, Liang Peng, Hu Zhu, and Bai Zemin are currently discussing something.

"Though I had hoped we could move all the students today, we don't haven't found any place that is better than this place, and also we have another problem." Shangguan Bing Xue spoke.

"Our food supply is running low right?" Bai Zemin said and folded his arms, Shangguan Bing Xue nodded to his words.

"Though we tried what we could preserve the food, we couldn't also make the students more stressed than what they already experienced so we let them eat their fill" Chen solemnly said "By my calculation, the food will only last until tomorrow".

"Looks like we need to seriously scavenge for food" Liang Peng folded his arms.

"Little sister Hu, where did you find all the food you found a couple of days ago?" Liang Peng asked Hu Zhu who was quietly listening.

"I found them all in the storage garden but that place is already cleaned, no more left to find there".

"What about the university restaurant?" Chen proposed that the restaurant is a larger food place, if someone hadn't already raided that place then the university restaurant is our place to find food.

"but the problem is that place is quite far away from the gym, if the 5 of us moved, we most certainly need to make multiple back-forth " Hu Zhu's gaze then landed on the students

"Then why not make the idle one help, they're leeches and we can't keep leeches in our base" Bai Zemin thought the same idea as Hu Zhu

"Indeed, such a useless chess piece only takes up space if not moved" Hu Zhu muttered lowly, both Shangguan Bing Xue and Bai Zemin noticed her muttering

"What did you say" Bai Zemin curiously asked

"Nothing"
