Battling Remnant

" Heh, heh, heh, behold, my Rose Reaper Gundam!"

Ruby declared excitedly as she revealed her ambitious Gunpla. Its base was from Gundam Dynames with several modifications from Rose Gundam and Deathscythe Hell Gundam EW. Version. Its legs only had minor changes, such as sharp points at the toes like Deathscythe Hell and additional GN Thrusters on the back of the kegs. The waist had a longer front skirt now and smaller GN Thrusters behind it. The torso had heavier frontal armor that protected the GN Drive and was outfitted with more GN Thrusters in the back.

The most significant changes were the arms, as both arms now had red GN Shield Cloaks that were a cross between Rose Gundam's cape and Death Scythe's Active Cloak mounted on the shoulders. Additionally, on the arms was a set of Beam Tonfas to give it more close combat ability. Its head was heavily modified, as the typical Gundam eyes were obscured with a Gundam horn visor with an added long-range scope and sensory antennas on both sides of the custom Gunpla. Finally, its armament was a Beam Sniper Rifle-Scythe hybrid that resembled Cresent Rose.

Rose Reaper Gundam's colors are primarily black and red, with some gray accents.

Summer then presented her Custom Gunpla.

" This is Gundam Grounded Rose."

The elder Rose did minimal customization to the Ground Type Gundam she picked out. It now had thrusters on the sides of its legs to allow for space mobility and hovering on the ground. Additionally, its backpack was replaced with one resembling the Sinanju, and its primary weapon was a Beam Rifle-ax hybrid identical to Sundering Rose. The biggest change was its torso, which it was now outfitted with dual chest vulcans for improved range combat.

Silva quietly displayed his GN-X Charger as he already knew what was coming next. Ruby then declared with unbound excitement.

" Let's fight!"

" Good thing I have a Gunpla Battle System installed at my residence."

The snow leopard man said as he got up and led the two Roses to the game room. The Gunpla Battle System booted up, and the three set their GP Bases down with a system request coming through.

[ PLEASE SET YOUR GUNPLA]

Ruby was anxiously fidgeting as she could not wait to start, and she grabbed the controllers while muttering.

" So cool!"

The launch sequence started; Ruby, Summer, and Silva made their own launch callouts.

" Rose Reaper Gundam, launching!"

" Gundam Grounded Rose, taking off."

" GN-X Charger, setting off."

The three Gunpla entered the battlefield as it was announced.

[ FIELD ONE, SPACE.]

Silva had set everything up and told the two beginners, as he had spent a fair amount of time in this universe beforehand.

" Before we go at each other, I think it would be best for you two to get familiar with the controls first since they can be surprisingly complicated."

" Okay..."

Ruby grumbled but agreed, and Summer nodded as she wanted to enjoy this game with her daughter as much as possible. The snow leopard man hung back as the two tried to get used to the controls and was a bit surprised when he saw Rose Reaper emitting rose petals instead of GN Particles. As the Custom Gunpla moved, it left behind a trail of rose petals that faded away after a few seconds. Silva complimented the younger Rose as he was impressed by her cosmetic choice.

" The rose petals are a nice touch, Ruby."

" Thanks! I had to rack my brain like crazy on how to pull it off when I was not studying."

" Mind showing me how you did that later, little rosebud?"

Ruby quickly agreed to her mother's request, and they both went back to getting familiar with the controls. The snow leopard man observed as the two Roses messed around until they got comfortable with the controls. The younger Rose called out to him.

" Hey Silva, I'm ready now!"

" Same here."

The elder Rose added as they faced Silva. He smiled as he replied.

" Okay then, I will come at you without holding back."

The GN-X Charger turned red from triggering Trans-am right away as its pilot wanted to make this battle short and sweet.

" Trans-Am right off the bat!?"

Ruby exclaimed, then grinned as she did the same as it sounded fun, and Summer smiled as she triggered her own enhancement system she added to her Gunpla.

" How hot-blooded."

The elder rose said as her Gunpla erupted in violet flames, coating the model, and Silva recognized it.

" The NITRO System?"

He grinned as he started charging at Ruby with the enhanced speed of his Gunpla while having a GN Barrier on. The pilot of the Rose Reaper was surprised by the speed of her opponent as it used thrusters both on the machine and main weapon but did not stand in place as she moved but with inferior speed. The difference between both the pilots and Gunpla was made apparent as the GN-X Charger managed to tear off part of the GN Shield Cloak during its charge. As Silva came around for another charge at Ruby, he was met with suppressing fire from Summer.

Unfortunately, the GN Barrier is well suited to shrugging-off range attacks with minimal impact, like weaker beam weapons or standard ballistic weaponry. As the GN-X Charger closed the distance with rabid speed, the pilot for the Rose Reaper called out as she used one of her special weapons.

" Eat this!"

Rose Funnels came out from the GN Shield Cloak and started to fire on the enemy, but they could not bypass the GN Barrier. The next moment, the Rose Reaper was impaled by the GN-X Charger, making Ruby lose the battle.

" Oh, come on!"

" Sorry, Ruby, I said I was not going to hold back."

The beam ax of the Grounded Rose soon clashed against the barrier but to no avail. Silva fired his Beam cannon at point-blank range and ended the fight. While Summer and Ruby had spent over a month on their Gunpla, their quality was just inferior to Silva's due to experience and design choices. The deciding factors were the high defensive power of the GN Barrier and the superior speed of the GN-X Charger. The match ended with little damage to the Gunpla since the damage setting was at its lowest.

Ruby pouted at Silva as she complained.

" No fair..."

" Of course, it isn't fair, Ruby. You have been at this for a few months at most, whereas I have actually lived in this world for several years, and this applies to others as well since you are new to this. However, don't worry; you will have plenty of chances to battle again and learn how to improve."

She nodded at Silva as she picked up her Gunpla and went to her room. Summer then interjected.

" Don't you think you were a bit harsh for a game?"

" Maybe a little, but it would have happened eventually, anyway, and likely on a higher damage setting, so it's better for a bit of bitterness now than a lot later since losing has more meaning with the damage actually being dealt to the Gunpla can be seen as you hold it in your hands. All the effort and inspiration put into a tiny bit of plastic to be torn apart is not a pleasant thing to see. Again, this IS a game, but because it's a game, it can be taken seriously. After all, it would not be as fun otherwise."

" That makes sense, I suppose."

The elder Rose shrugged as she went to see her daughter, only to find the younger Rose already researching how to beat Silva. Summer quietly chuckled and left Ruby alone.

" So I can do this, but how to get around his speed?"

The younger Rose muttered as she looked up videos and written tactics for Gunpla battling in order to get a win from the snow leopard man in a rematch.
