9 Grandmother

Outside of his consciousness

There was a commotion outside of the mansion. The people saw a huge shadow on the horizon. They were trying to figure out what it was as its speed was unimaginable. It was a speck from afar at first but in just a couple of seconds, it had become a blurred shadow. With a *swoosh* a giant majestic bird was seen landing at the big lawn of the mansion. The big bird made a chirp as it stomped its feet while circling a couple of rounds before calming down.

The back and the long pointed wings of this majestic falcon was bluish black with a slate of grey and the wind tips are jet black. The white to rusty underparts are barred with thin clean bands of dark brown or black. The tail colored like the back but with thin clean bars, is long, narrow, and rounded at the end with a black tip and a white band at the very end. The upper beak is notched near the tip, an adaptation which enables falcons to kill prey by severing the spinal column at the neck.

Although the falcon was majestic it was not enough to cover the aura that was spreading from the person riding it. She had the aura of a grandmaster magus, the white emanating from her was like a shining sun brightly covering the earth. The aura was grand but it felt refreshing and calming, the people who were able to feel this aura around them felt relaxed as if their bodies have been cleansed. The people watched in awe and respect as the said person went down and walked as fast as lightning. Her steps were fast as if she was floating as the gravity did not do anything to hinder her steps.

The door of the room flew open and a person was seen standing in front. She was dressed in white mage clothes, her staff was made of wood but the power containing within it was explosive. There was a gem stuck right in the middle reflecting a violet light.

The woman looked like she was in her early 40's, she had brunette hair that was tied in a bun. Her height was not so tall and yet not short at the same time. Her figure cannot be seen clearly because of the robe she was wearing, it was fluttering still as she was in a hurry when she entered.

"How is Max?" that was the first question the lady asked. Her eyes were filled with worry, and fatigue can be seen on her face. She had traveled nonstop to be able to come at the fastest speed possible. She then approached the bed was Max was laid and check on his body. Sensing that nothing was wrong physically, she used her own aura to examine Max's constitution and mana flow within the body. She was surprised to see that the mana revolving in his body was continuous like a stream. There were no blockages that can be seen, it had come as a surprise since children at the age of three even for those gifted do not have meridians as clear and wide as his.

She gave a sigh of relief when she found out nothing was wrong.

"Do not worry, it is just a matter of mana overuse. He is in a state of unconsciousness since he has not learned the proper meditation practice to control his spirit when the body experiences this." She said this with confidence.

Both parents were so happy to hear this while Anna could not stop the tears from falling. Her nerves had been in a state of constant highs and lows from everything that happened. She was happy that her son could be considered a genius magician and has a lot of potential, however, she was extremely worried as she does not know if Max will be able to wake up anytime soon.

"Thank you for coming, mother. I know you are very busy and we had to trouble you." Robert felt ashamed of himself as he was the head of the family. He felt that it was his responsibility as a father to protect his children.

"What nonsense are you saying, Robert. He is my grandson, I have not seen him when he was born. Just take this as an apology for not being able to be there when you gave birth to him." She was smiling while looking around she asked. "Where is Alicia? How come I have not seen her?"

"She locked herself up in her room since the incident happened. She is blaming herself for what happened. I did explain in the magic crystal the whole situation, I told her she was not to blame but she would not believe me." Robert sighed, he investigated the matter and found some clues on what the real circumstances were, however, he does not any definite proof so that the person will be punished. If he reports this incident without anything to support his findings then it might be fixed in underhanded ways.

The Kingdom has been experiencing some turmoil from the attack from the neighboring kingdom and constant barrages and assassinations from the demon country. If it wasn't from the great pillars of their kingdom then they would have been in a precarious state.

"I see, do not worry, there is a spell to awaken Max from his state of unconsciousness. I will need the prepare. I have gathered the materials necessary, I just need to install formations to maximize the effects of the spell and materials. Everything should be ready before midnight." She said.

"I am also worried about Alicia but when Max wakes up, I bet she would appreciate it more if it's Max who would say that it was not her fault."

The parents both nod their head as confirmation since they have tried to talk to Alicia with no avail. They both know how Alicia adored and cherished her brother, she would surely get back to her old self once Max wakes up.
