The husband stared at the car as it passed by. He returned to the house and carried the baby in his arms, whispering into her ear, "I will give you a better life. Please be happy."
He went to the room he shared with his wife and packed her things. There, he found the hairpin she thought it'll suit their daughter.
It was a yellow coloured hairpin with a mini sunflower as a decoration on it. The pin itself was beautiful despite being cheap, and it'll be a contrast on the girl's dark hair. He was lost in thought for a while before heading for the wardrobe.
The man grabbed a small towel and wrapped his daughter in it. The child slept comfortably in it as she drooled in her sleep. That gave the father more work to do as he needed to wipe the drool off, but it didn't matter to him. After all, that would be the last time seeing his daughter.
"There," He pinned the hairpin on the towel. "This is proof of your mother's love. Never lose it, please cherish it."
