CHAPTER THREE - Tomato? more like my face.
Treason? Plotting against the Royal Family? Manslaughter? Felony Murder? Drugs? Illegal activity?! ALL OF THEM?!
Why was this guy here? To sentence my face to a lifetime in jail? Or hanging? No, please! I want to keep my head, at least until this year ends. I glanced nervously at Noa. I was pretty sure he hated the old Amaria. Which made sense. Not all people like a girl boss, I guess.
"Amaria-" Noa began, but I was busy standing up from my chair. And then, I did something Amaria didn't have muscle memory for. Because she had never done it before.
I was bowing.
You know, to be safe. Previously, it was really rare for me to reincarnate as a noble (Since the commoners surround the nobles 100:1), so I had never talked to Noa. "Whatever I did, I'm sorry! I promise to leave behind all my past sins and become a good person! You won't hear a peep from me anymore, I swear! I'll even go to church every day to pray!" I said, making a face. I quickly glanced up, to see Noa gaping at me. "Are you… the Amaria I know?" He said, flabbergasted. "I was here to tell you you got a letter…"
Boom. I blushed bright red and sat down. Tomato? More like my face. Ha… Noa burst into laughter, and, after a few seconds, I started laughing too. Ahh! This mouth of mine will be the death of me one day! Or maybe today! Might as well die today!
"Ahem… sorry…. but where's the letter?" I said, desperately trying to change the topic. "Oh, and why is the crown prince giving me this himself? Aren't you in a higher position than me?" I asked as I took the envelope Noa handed me. "Ah. Yes, but… I also wanted to ask if you wanted to be my partner at the ball." Noa said, and I froze as I was about to open the envelope.
what?
