The day after. The Palace of the King of the tribesmen.
"My gratitude keeps its place for you. I'll forever be indebted to you."
The king said again, after the Professor had told him that they would be on their way soonest else they would get to Curt late at night.
"It's a pleasure to be of help to someone as thoughtful as you are."
The Professor had bowed slightly before saying that. The king smiled and came on again,
"According to my promise, as you leave, I shall send with you enough horses for the numbers of people who came with you. I shall give you several clothes of exchange. I'd loved to give you cowries too, but it wouldn't be so necessary. You might not get to stay here forever and it wouldn't be very useful to you outside of this settlement. The people of Curt do have their own separate currency."
The Professor bowed again as the king paused. He said,
