"You know I find this all weird" said Annie as she was thinking.

"What is weird?" asked Maddie

"This whole situation" said Annie as she stood up from her bed.

Maddie and Matt were busy laughing, as Maddie was showing Matt some cute cat photos that she had downloaded on her phone.

"Ahh okay" said Maddie as she went back to laughing.

"Are you both even listening??" asked Annie as she turned to look at them, she was annoyed at how they were both in their own little world.

"Yes we are Annie" replied Maddie as she put down her phone.

"What are you both even laughing about?" asked Annie

"Well cute cat photos" replied Maddie

"Cat photos again" said Annie as she face-palmed.

"Ah Ah Ah, not just any cat photos, "Cute" cat photos" said Maddie as she emphasized the cute.

"Gosh, I wonder how your phone's battery has not died yet" said Annie

"Well easy because I charge it" said Maddie.

"How??? we don't have any normal electricity here, as far as I know" said Annie

"Duh, a charging spell" said Maddie

"Wait, so let me get this right, you would waste your energy charging your phone, just to keep on seeing cat pictures??" asked Annie.

"Mhmm, it's not actually wasting my energy, since I just do it before I go to sleep, so that way it charges when I am sleeping" said Maddie.

"My gosh Maddie" said Annie

"And you Matt, why are you encouraging her??" asked Annie as she turned her aggression on Matt.

"Why are you both laughing so much anyway??" asked Annie

"Hey, hey, hey hold up, firstly Maddie just told me that she wanted to show me some nice cat pictures" said Matt

"And secondly we were both laughing because Maddie was talking about how deadly it would be if all those cats" said Matt

"Ahem cute cats" said Maddie as she interrupted him.

"Okay yes, if those 'cute' cats were the dolosus cattus the sly cat" said Matt

"Oh you mean those deadly cats with absorption?" asked Annie

"Yes exactly" said Matt

"And believe me it's hilarious to imagine all those cute cats as thieves" said Matt

"Oh alright, gosh" said Annie

"Aww Matty, I think our little Annie needs attention, so let's pay her all of our attention" said Maddie as she literally threw her phone to Annie's bed.

"You know what Maddie, I think that you are right, let us pay her attention" said Matt as he and Maddie both looked at each other and they both turned to look at her at the same time.

Annie's mouth was wide open, she was shocked, these two were beyond annoying when they were like this?? when did they agree to join alliance to annoy her?? and they talked about being mature, even the serious looks on their faces was just too good to be true.

"Come on what did you want to tell us little Annie??" asked Maddie

"We are all ears now, so rest assured that we will listen to every single word you utter" said Maddie

"Come on we are waiting" said Matt

"You know what I cannot deal with the both of you right now, so I will just ignore this very wacky behavior of yours" said Annie

"But whatever do you mean Annie?" asked Maddie softly.

"Mhmm, anyway that's enough of that" said Annie

"Okay so as I was saying, before you briefly interrupted me and started acting like clowns" said Annie as she eyes Maddie, and Maddie showed her a very innocent looking smile, that made Annie scoff.

"This is all weird" said Annie

"From Aunt Stella just setting a library out of the blue, to us being trapped there for soem odd reason, with an attack being launched on Azazel's camp, I don't know why but I feel like it was all planned" said Annie

"Annie I agree with you" said Maddie as she went serious.

"And so do I" said Matt

"Do you remember that a few days ago that my parents, your parents, Uncle Jacob, Aunt Stella and Curtis all had a meeting" said Matt

"And it seemed like a really official, important kind of meeting" said Matt

"Oh yeah" said Maddie

"That explains a lot, and with the way Curtis was hesitant to break the barrier for us, it was like he knew why it was placed there" said Maddie

"It did not even seem like he was the slightest bit worried that we were trapped in there" said Maddie.

"Exactly and he was reluctant to tell us what was going on, which meant that we was fully aware of everything happening" said Annie

"I believe that, we all know that Curtis knows a lot more than he tells us" said Matt

"He totally does" said Maddie

"Which is why I think that Aunt Stella purposely set up the library for us, and then the adults did not tell us that they had a plan of attacking Azazel's camp" said Annie

"So they were sure that we were in the library they casted the barrier to shield us, but they must have underestimated the power of whatever attack they had planned, because the barrier obviously did not do it's job, it was only like some glass case for us" said Maddie

"If we were feeling it so strong over here, then it meant that over there, they must have thought it was the end of the world" said Matt

"I can just imagine the terror they had felt" said Annie.

"They don't need out pity, they are the bad guys after all" said Maddie as she reminded Annie and Matt that they were talking about the enemy.

"So what??" said Annie

"They are still people too" said Annie

"Annie you forget that they literally have no problem with killing us if they had the chance" said Maddie.

"I doubt that, for all we know some of those people may have been forced to join Azazel" said Annie

"And what if they were not??" asked Maddie

"Well we don't know that" said Annie

"Exactly we don't know, so they might as well be as evil as Azazel" said Maddie

"But Maddie, you cannot group everyone into the same category just because you think that they belong there" said Annie as she argued her point.

"Annie you cannot be naïve, not everyone is as innocent as you think" said Maddie

"Okay enough, break it, end it here" said Matt as he was sure that this was going to turn into a full blown argument if he did not interfere.

"Fine" said Annie as she looked away, if not that Matt stopped her, she wanted to say that her naiveness caused them to give Maddie a chance, and if not they would have not been friends, but she was not ready for another argument.

"Fine" said Maddie as she looked away too.

"Anyway back to what we were actually talking about" said Matt as he was trying to ease the tension.

"As I was saying, the mistake they made was not knowing that Curtis was in there with us, before they sealed the library with a barrier" said Annie

"If they did they would have called him out" said Maddie

"I am sure that out magic could not break such a strong barrier even if we tried" said Maddie

"True, what I don't understand is why they didn't just tell us what was going on?" asked Annie

"We deserve to know what is going on just as much as they do" said Annie.

"They think we are children, that's the problem" said Maddie

"Well we are not" said Annie

"Why do you think Aunt Stella called for us??" asked Maddie

"You mean she called for you, but you dragged me over here with you" said Annie as she laughed.

"And Matt?? well he just decided to tag along too" said Annie as she laughed and pointed to Matt.

Everyone in the camp knew them by now, they were always together like they stuck together like glue, you would never find one without seeing the other, it was actually funny.

"Yeah yeah, but anyway, why did she called for me anyway, I did not do anything wrong, or so I think" said Maddie

"Maddie why does everything have to do with you doing something wrong?" asked Annie

"You think too much, maybe she just wants to talk to you" said Annie

"Annie's right, you worry too much" said Matt

"Okay maybe you are both right, anyway you are still going with me regardless" said Maddie

"Of course" said Annie

"Sure why not" said Matt

As soon as they got to Stella's office, it was like Stella was already waiting for them.

"Ahh Annie, Matt, it's a surprise to see you, but I only called for Maddie" said Stella as she smiled

"I know Aunt Stella, I made them tag along with me because I didn't want to walk over here all alone" said Maddie as she gave an excuse.

"Oh it's fine dear, you three can all sit down" said Stella, she figured out that Maddie would need her two friends here for what she was about to tell her.

"So Maddie you must be wondering why I called you here" said Stella and Maddie nodded her head.

Stella looked down and she sighed, this was not going to be easy for her to say, but Maddie deserved to know anyway, she needed to be aware of what had happened.

"I'm sorry dear but your mother" said Stella as she looked up and she observed Maddie's face carefully.

Maddie looked at Annie and then at Matt, and they both gave her a look that said that they did not know what was going on either, so Maddie looked back at Stella.

"Your mother is dead" said Stella as she forced the words out of her mouth, and she said them softly.
