Pretender

"Curtis, I am nervous to meet the King and Queen" said Annie as she looked at Curtis, she was nervous.

"What do I do? What do I say? How do I act??" asked Annie a Curtis turned to look at her as Maddie looked at her as well, and then she turned to look at Curtis, Annie was speaking the truth, for a second it had slipped her mind that they were not just going somewhere, they were going to meet the King and Queen of the Witch Realm.

"Well just be yourself" said Curtis as he replied plainly.

"Wow, that sounds very… well very original Curtis" said Maddie as she had expected Curtis to say something more, that did not help at all, did he seem to forget that they were dealing with Royalty?? But then again, Curtis had been many Kings and Queens, and Maddie was sure of that, which was why this did not seem to faze him at all.

"Believe me when I say, being yourself, is the best way to go, no one likes a pretender" said Curtis as that was the truth, the truth was always best.

"Hmm true, true, you speak truth" said Maddie as she nodded her head, Curtis had a point there.

"Okay then" said Annie as she sighed.

"Curtis, you have met the King and Queen before right??" asked Maddie as she looked at Curtis, this guy had been here wayyy longer than all of them combined.

"Well yes, I have, many times before, and also the King before the current King as well" said Curtis.

"Wow, and you remind me how truly old you are yet again" said Maddie as she laughed and Curtis shook his head at her, well he was currently in the body of a seventeen year old so, they were technically the same age.

"Is that the point you want to bring out in all this?" asked Curtis as he looked at Maddie as he tipped his head to look at her.

"Nope" said Maddie as she laughed.

"Anyway, since you have met them before, are they nice people?" asked Maddie and Annie turned to look at her and she agreed with her, here she was thinking on many things that she did not ask actually important questions, she was so happy that Maddie was here to ask for her.

"Well you never truly know if a person is truly nice on the inside" replied Curtis.

"But they are rather simple people, they can be comely, but do not let that fool you, they are very powerful as well" said Curtis as he explained.

"So I don't get it, should we trust them or not?" asked Maddie as she looked at Curtis.

"Don't trust anyone, until you are completely sure that they deserve to be trusted" said Curtis.

"Okay then" said Maddie as she nodded her head.

"Annie, are you alright? You seem awfully quiet" said Maddie as she turned to look at Annie who had been quiet all this while.

"I am fine, I was just thinking" said Annie as she smiled.

"Okay then" said Maddie as she smiled.

"Well I think it is time that we get going, and we load these bags into the carriage" said Curtis.

"Okay" said Maddie as she stood up from her bed and she touched her bags as Annie tried to lift her own bag.

"Don't worry, I got this" said Maddie to Annie as she smiled and she touched Annie's bad for her as it floated in the air.

"Thank you" said Annie as she smiled.

"Anytime" said Maddie as she smiled and she winked.

"I wonder where my parents are" said Annie as she looked around as their bags were put behind the carriage.

"They must probably still be with Stella, I saw them earlier" said Curtis as he looked at Annie.

"This is not how I imagined spending my afternoon today would go" said Maddie as she sighed and she smiled.

"You and me both Maddie" said Annie as she smiled.

"Hellooo Annie, Maddie" said Ollie with a bright smile on his face as he walked to where Annie, Maddie and Curtis were standing.

"Oh here comes trouble" said Maddie as she sighed and she shook her head as Annie shot her a look that read "Be nice Maddie" and all Maddie could do was reluctantly nod.

"Where's Matt?" asked Ollie as he smiled and he looked at Annie and Maddie.

"He's not here yet" said Annie as she smiled.

"Oh what a shame, you three are always together at all times" said Ollie as he laughed.

"Have you been watching us or what??" asked Maddie as she could not believe this.

"It's to you to figure out Maddie" said Ollie as he smiled and Maddie scoffed.

"Oh Hey, you must be Curtis, I have heard so much about you" said Ollie as he finally noticed Curtis and he turned to look at him as he smiled.

"Prince Oliver" said Curtis as he nodded, he had never met the young Prince before, this was his first time actually meeting him.

"Just call me Ollie" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Hmm" said Curtis as he did not say anything more.

"Anyway, are you guys ready to go?" asked Ollie as he smiled.

"Oh please dear heavens, don't tell me that you are coming along with us??" asked Maddie as the look on her face appeared devastated, she could not stand this guy in an open field, and much more less to talk about a very confined space, he would just talk and talk.

"Well No sadly, I cannot come with you, In fact I need to leave now" said Ollie as he smiled, he had to get to the Castle before them to see his Parents quickly, just so everything went smoothly.

"Oh thank goodness" said Maddie as she sighed in relief.

"Hmm" said Ollie.

"Admit it Maddie, you will miss me" said Ollie as he smiled and he winked.

"Ha, not even in your worst nightmare" said Maddie as she scoffed.

"Oh well" said Ollie as he laughed.

"Anyway, I will see you later Annie" said Ollie as he smiled and he winked at Annie as he walked away.

"Ugh, that guy is the epitome of annoying" said Maddie as she looked at Curtis hoping that he would agree with her, but he just stayed quiet.

"Hey guys" said Matt as he smiled and he walked to where Maddie, Curtis and Annie were standing outside of the Palace.

"Oh Matt, good you are finally here" said Maddie in relief.

"Yes?? What happened??" asked Matt as he looked at Annie and Curtis, and then at Maddie.

"You just missed that annoying Prince, which is lucky for you" said Maddie.

"Don't tell me he's coming along with us?" asked Matt.

"No, No, luckily no, but he was very annoying, more annoying than usual, like he is enjoying this" said Maddie as she scoffed and she shook her head.

"That's a relief" said Matt as he sighed.

"So are you coming with us?" asked Annie as she smiled, Maddie and Matt had their little thing of talking on how just annoying Ollie was.

"Yes, I am, I got permission from my mom and she said yes" said Matt as he smiled, he was so happy that he was actually allowed to go, after his father had convinced his mother to let him go, he would have to thank his father later, when he returned.

"Yessss" said Maddie as she smiled.

"This would be so boring without you" said Maddie as she laughed.

"Maddie is right about that" said Annie as she smiled and Matt smiled, Ollie was right, they were inseparable, they always went everywhere together, and they didn't mind that at all, they were a team after all.

"Curtis, you are coming with us right?" asked Matt as he looked at Curtis.

"Of course I am" said Curtis, where else would he be, if not by Annie's side.

"Great" said Matt as he smiled.

"Sweetie, you are here already" said Lisa as she smiled and she and John were walking to where Annie and the others were.

"Yes Mom" said Annie as she smiled.

"Oh man" said Matt to himself as he sighed, for a moment, he forgot that Mr. Grey existed, this was going to be a long ride.

"Hello Maddie" said Lisa as she looked at Maddie and she smiled.

"Hi Aunt" said Maddie as she smiled.

"Hello Matt" said Lisa as she smiled at Matt.

"Hello Aunt" said Matt as he smiled.

"Matt" said John as he eyed Matt and Matt sighed.

"Mr. Grey" said Matt as he forced a smile.

"Where is Aunt Stella?" asked Annie as she looked around.

"Well she had a meeting darling, but she did wish us all well" said Lisa as she smiled.

"Oh okay" said Annie as she smiled.

"Shall we go?" asked Curtis.

"Of course" said Annie as she smiled.
