Let's go shopping

"Father??" asked Lucinda as she opened the door of her room.

"Good Morning Lucinda" said Sapiens as he stood outside her door.

"Good Morning?" asked Lucinda as she was confused, why was he Father standing outside her bedroom door, this early in the morning? did he have something important to tell her?

"Where is your husband?" asked Sapiens

"Huh?" asked Lucinda as this time she was truly stupefied, why did he want to know where Luke was?

"Where is your husband? Lucky?? or what's his name?" asked Sapiens

"Father it's Lucas, and he's in the shower" said Lucinda

"Alright... tell Lucas to meet me in my office, I want to talk him" said Sapiens

"Okay Father?" said Lucinda

"Good" said Sapiens as he walked away and Lucinda closed the door, still feeling suspicious about the whole situation.

"Who was that?" asked Lucas as he came out of the shower and he tied a towel around his lower body.

"It was my father... he asked to see you??" asked Lucinda as she herself still could not believe it.

"He did??" asked Lucas as he himself was also shocked and Lucinda nodded her head.

"Okay then, I will go" said Lucas

"No wait a minute Luke, this all seems too suspicious, what if he's planning something" said Lucinda

"Planning something like what?" asked Lucas

"I don't know, maybe he's planning to kill you" said Lucinda

"Kill me?" laughed Lucas

"Lucy you think too much" he said

"Don't worry I will be fine, okay" said Lucas as he kissed her on her forehead.

"Okay" she replied.

"Now let me go get dressed" said Lucas as he walked to the wardrobe, but Lucinda was still feeling uneasy about the whole thing.

Meanwhile in the hallway.

"Uncle Sapiens" called Bella as she saw him in the hallway.

"Ahh Isabella, Good Morning, how are you?" asked Sapiens as he smiled, he was used to Bella showing up unannounced at his house, especially when she and Lucinda were growing up, it was more like he had two children, since Bella was always here.

Any normal person would be asking why Bella was in their house at this early time in the morning, but the truth was that she never left, in fact she was still wearing her potion print pajamas.

"I am very good and how are you Uncle?" asked Bella

"I am doing well" said Sapiens

"That's good to hear, now if you would please excuse me, I was on my way back to my room" said Bella

"Okay" said Sapiens

"Ahh Wait, Isabella" said Sapiens.

"What is it Uncle?" asked Bella

"I need to discuss something with you, can you see me in my office later" said Sapiens

"Sure Uncle" said Bella

"Thank you" said Sapiens as he smiled and walked away.

Meanwhile Later in the day.

Bella was walking towards Sapiens office, she had changed from her pajamas to casual clothes when she was about to knock on the door, but it opened before she could.

"Lucas??" asked Bella as she saw the person she was least expecting to be in Sapiens Office, just coming out of it now.

"Good Morning Bella" said Lucas

"Morning" said Bella

"What did you and Uncle S talk about?" asked Bella curiously.

"Nothing much" came Lucas's short answer.

"Tell me, how is my brother?" he asked, and it was enough to move Bella's curiosity

"Ahh well of course he's fine, because he has me" said Bella as she smiled and looked very proud.

"Of course he does" said Lucas as he smiled.

"Well see you later" said Lucas as he turned to walk away.

"Byee, Hey wait, you didn't answer my question" said Bella

"Don't you have somewhere to be?" asked Lucas as he turned around and pointed at the door of Sapiens office.

"Ahh right, well you escaped this time, but I will find out what you guys talked about" said Bella

"Mhmm right then, see you" said Lucas as he walked away.

"Hello Uncle" said Bella as she walked into the office.

"Ahh Isabella, take a seat" he said with a smile.

Meanwhile back in Lucinda's room

"So what did my father talk to you about?" asked Lucinda curiously

"Well it was nothing much, just some things here and there" replied Lucas

"Mhmm, Luke be specific, what did you two talk about?" asked Lucinda

"He asked why there is a cookie shortage in the house" said Lucas

"Luke I can't tell whether you are joking or not" said Lucinda

"Okay fine, he told me to divorce you" said Lucas

"Lucas Sundew, tell me the truth now" said Lucinda, she knew he was lying, he was talking way too casually... especially about the divorce.

"My dear wife, it's between men, so I can't tell you" said Lucas as he kissed the back of her hand.

"You know what fine then" said Lucinda

"If you don't tell me the truth, then I won't ask anymore" said Lucinda as she sat down and crossed her legs and arms and Lucas turned to walk away.

"Your revelation spell won't work on me" said Lucas as he turned around to meet her eyes.

"Why not" said Lucinda

"Because I have zeroed my mind" replied Lucas

"Fine, don't tell me" said Lucinda as she was annoyed, it was times like these, that she regretted telling him how to stop spells from being casted on him.

"My dear, trust me, it's nothing serious, you will find out about it soon" said Lucas as he looked at her softly.

"How soon?" asked Lucinda as she tried to get information out of him.

"Very soon" he replied as he knew was she was trying to do, sometimes she could just be too impatient and it was cute.

"Okay then" she said.

Later in the day.

All the women were talking in the Kitchen and Evie was there too, because of course she was the little gossiper.

"Haha, speaking of which, we should go shopping" said Bella

"What you mean like today?" asked Lucinda

"Yes today" said Bella as she smiled

"No that's too sudden" said Lucinda

"What no, we can go shopping, we have time" said Bella

"Lisa, back me up, isn't it a good idea to go shopping?" asked Bella

"I mean, I haven't been shopping in a while, so it would be fun to go" said Lisa

"Yes right??? Luc what about you?" asked Bella as she turned to look at Lucinda

"Okay fine" said Lucinda as she sighed and agreed, because she knew that Bella would not let her be until she agreed.

"Yayyyy, also you Aunt El, let's go shopping, I am sure you are bored of being here all the time, same with you Sophie, so what do you say?" asked Bella

"Okay then dear" said Elora as she smiled and Bella looked at Sophie.

"Sure, let's go shopping" said Sophie

"Yayyyyyyy, so it's a girl shopping day, I can't wait" said Bella as she smiled

"Haha Yayyyyy, can I come too?" asked Evie

"Sorry dear but, it's women only, you can come the next time okay dear?" said Bella

"Okay" said Evie as she was sad.

"Haha thank you my sweetie" said Bella

"Your welcome" said Evie

"Aunt El, I did not notice before, but that's a nice bracelet on your hand" said Bella as she looked at a gold chain bracelet with a heart on it.

"It is very pretty Madam Elora" said Sophie and Lisa

"Yes Mother it's very pretty, is it new? because I haven't seen it before" said Lucinda

"Thank you all" said Elora as she smiled

"You are right Lucy, It is new, in fact I just got it this morning" said Elora

"Really from who?" asked Lucinda in curiosity

"I don't know, I just saw it in my office, and it was addressed to me" said Elora.

The ladies were just so focused on their discussion, that they missed the subtle, smug smile on Evie's face.

"That's odd, this looks very expensive" said Lucinda as she examined the bracelet on her mothers hand closely.

"Lucy is right, it does look expensive, who could have given it to you?" asked Bella

"Maybe it was father" said Lucinda which made Elora laugh.

"Lucinda, you and I both know that your father is not the gift giving type" she said as she laughed

"Hmm" said Lucinda as she thought.

"Anyway, are we going shopping or what?" asked Bella

"Sure let's go" said Elora

"Well you guys have fun, I am going to see if I can help decorate the garden" said Evie

"Okay Bye Evie" said Bella

Meanwhile outside the house.

"Dad what are we doing here?" asked Matt as he looked at his father as they walked into the nearby forest behind the house.

"Well I want to teach you something son" said Lucas

"What is it?" asked Matt

"Well as you know, we vampires have super hearing, and I am convinced that you are not using it to your full potential, so let me teach you something my father taught me" said Lucas

"Okay, so what do I have to do?" asked Matt

"Firstly close your eyes and focus really seriously" said Lucas and Matt closed his eyes.

"Secondly, every living thing has a heartbeat, including us vampires, we just have faster heartbeats" explained Lucas

"Humans have a regular heartbeat that beats in a rhythm and so do witches, so let's start with them first" said Lucas

"Now focus on the house, and tell me how many heartbeats do you hear?" asked Lucas

Matt focused and he could hear his own heartbeat and his father's heartbeat, and he could pick up some other heartbeats too.

"I hear five" said Matt

"No, wrong, try again" said Lucas

"6" said Matt

"No" said Lucas

"7?" said Matt

"No stop guessing use your ears" said Lucas

"Okay" said Matt as he focused.

"15" said Matt

"Correct, it is 15" said Lucas as he smiled.

"Haha, finally, I did it" said Matt

"Yes, you did, now it's time to make it harder" said Lucas

"How??" asked Matt

"Well we are going to move deeper in the forest and then try to see if you can still hear their heartbeats" said Lucas

"Awww, why do I have to do this again?" asked Matt

"Well it is essential for every vampire, because it enables you to be very alert and you will be able to have an edge over your enemies" said Lucas

"And in a battlefield situation you will be able to know how many enemies you have" said Lucas

"Ahh I get it" said Matt

"So how far do we go?" asked Matt

"About 10 kilometers" said Lucas

"Huh what?? that's very faraway" said Matt

"Okay then 5 kilometers" said Lucas

"That's better" said Matt

Meanwhile back in the Garden.

"Hello everyone" said Evie as she walked into the Garden

"Hello Evie" replied everyone.

"Chris can I please help?" asked Evie as she looked at Chris that was hanging ribbons on a tree.

"Sure Evie, you can blow those balloons over there" said Chris

"Okay, Thank you Chris" said Evie as she walked to a table filled with different types of coloured balloons.

Every one of the children were helping in the garden.

Annie and Maddie were helping Chris hang the ribbons, Ellie and Cellie were blowing balloons while Kaylee and Levi tied the balloons for them.

While Edward, Mark and Frankie were busy arranging flowers, while Noey was playing in the grass.

"Kay Kay, Levi, how many balloons have you blown?" asked Evie

"Ahh well I lost count" said Kaylee

"Me too" said Levi

"No no no, we have to count all of them" said Evie

"Do we??" asked Kaylee

"Yes" said Evie

"Ughh" said Levi

"Now let's get to counting" said Evie

Later that day.

"I'm backkk" said Lucinda as she entered the room with shopping bags in her hand.

"Welcome back Lucy, so where did you go?" asked Lucas

"Ah well Bella suggested that we ladies go shopping" said Lucinda as she dropped her bags on the bed.

"I see, so did you have fun?" asked Lucas

"Yes it was very fun" said Lucinda

"Luke don't you want to see what I bought?" asked Lucinda as she smiled.

"No dear, I am sure that whatever you bought fits you well" said Lucas as he patted her on her head.

"Okay" said Lucinda

"Let's go, dinner is waiting" said Lucas.
