Bleeding

Blood, that was blood, Annie was sure of it, but why would Curtis be bleeding? Was he hurt?

Annie was filled with fear, she knew something was wrong, she just knew it, but she had not been sensitive enough to notice it.

Matt looked at Annie, he was worried for her, he could sense that she was worried, he could hear that her heart beat became unsteady, he happened to pick up her frequency of her irregular heartbeat.

Maddie was also uneasy, Curtis was bleeding, of all things why was he bleeding.

Annie stay rooted in her spot, she did not want to move at all, not until they all suddenly heard Curtis begin to couch violently as he started to gasp for air.

Annie did not care at all, Curtis was in pain, she could feel it, her feet had a mind of their own as they rushed to Curtis.

"Annie don't…" said Matt as he knew what she was thinking, but it was already too late, Annie had rushed to Curtis.

"Curtis..." said Annie in worry as she looked at him.

"Oh boy" said Maddie as she sighed, they had already been compromised.

"Come on let's go" said Maddie as she sighed and she walked to where Annie was as Ollie and Matt followed after her.

"A…nn…ie" said Curtis as he gasped for air and he looked up at Annie as he coughed even more.

"Oh Curtis, what happened to you, what's wrong, you are bleeding" said Annie in worry as she looked at Curtis, his entire nose was covered in blood, and so was the ground around him.

"Oh my G…" said Maddie as she was taken aback, this looked serious, very serious, she doubted if Curtis was okay, he was loosing blood, a lot of it, she wondered how this was even possible, he was a book wasn't he?

"A…nn…ie… I…" said Curtis as he gasped for air and he began to couch even more.

"Don't say anything Curtis, don't" said Annie as she looked at him, her top priority was to stop the bleeding, she saw that it was coming from his nose, she was scared that he could loose so much blood from his nose.

"We have to stop the bleeding" said Annie as she did not hesitate at all, and she help Curtis' head up as she pinched his bloody nose with her other hand, she knew what to do here, holding his head in this position would stop the bleeding.

"Someone get me a cloth or something, so clean up all this blood" said Annie as she closed her eyes for a brief second, the smell of blood was so strong that it made her feel so uneasy, it was not good for someone to bleed like this.

Curtis began to couch even more as Annie did not know what to do, the bleeding had to stop first before she could let go of his head.

"Here" said Matt as he tore a piece of his shirt and he handed it to Annie as she took it from him and she began to clean Curtis' nose and face, her hand and the piece of cloth were now covered in blood, so much that she was starting to get scared, she did not know if the blood had stopped, but to her relief Curtis stopped coughing as he began to breathe through his mouth.

Maddie found this sight truly horrific, she felt like Curtis was suffering, it looked like he was suffering so much, if she felt this way, she could only imagine how Annie felt, all she wanted to do was to help in anyway that she could.

Annie was panicking her hand was soaked in blood, Curtis as closed his eyes, but Annie could hear that he was still breathing, Annie was worried looking at him, she did not know what to do next to help him, he looked weak, very weak, his skin looked pale.

Ollie quickly thought of what to do as he bent down and he rummaged through his backpack, he knew that it was a good idea to bring it along.

"Maddie, use this, get Annie some water to clean Curtis' face" said Ollie as Maddie looked at him and he handed her his water bottle as she took it quickly and she rushed to the stream as she bent down and she filled the bottle with water.

"Annie what do we do?" asked Matt as he walked closer to Annie.

"I don't know what to do, I am trying to stop the bleeding, but I am not sure if it actually stopped" said Annie as now she was panicking, the sight of blood did not usually scare her, but when it was this much, she was so worried and scared, worried that she would lose Curtis, and she did not want to lose him at all.

"Here Annie, maybe some water will help" said Maddie as she walked to Annie.

"Thanks, can you hold his nose up for me?" asked Annie as she looked at Maddie.

"Of course" said Maddie as she gave the water bottle to Matt as he held it, and she held Curtis's head up and she pinched his nose as Annie let go, her hand was covered in blood, so much blood.

"Here Annie, come and wash your hands" said Ollie as he walked to Annie with his second water bottle as he got some more water from the stream and Annie placed her hand in front of her as Ollie poured the water and she washed her hands, she did not want to taint the stream with blood.

"Hey Annie, I think he stopped bleeding" said Maddie as she called out to Annie, she was sure that the blood had stopped.

"Wait, let me check" said Annie as she had no time at all to dry her hands as she rushed back to Curtis, and Maddie was right, the blood had stopped.

"Alright it stopped" said Curtis as Maddie used her free hand to check Curtis' pulse on his neck.

"His pulse is weak; he needs to lay down" said Maddie as she looked at Annie.

"Alright" said Annie as Matt helped her carry Curtis and they moved away from the stream as he laid Curtis flat on the ground.

"His breathing Is weak, and I think he passed out" said Maddie as Ollie helped her wash her hands, not that he did not want to help directly, but Annie, Matt and Maddie all seemed to know what they were doing, and he did not want to pry, he only wanted to help in the best way that he could, and if that was to provide them with water, then he would do so.

"Curtis, Curtis, please wake up" said Annie as she touched Curtis' cheek, she had never seen him like this before, it made her scared, she just wanted him to wake up, she feared the worst seeing him in his state.

"His heartbeat his irregular" said Matt as he could hear that clearly.

"He needs to wake up, Curtis, please wake up" said Annie as she felt like crying, but she did not want to cry, no not now, she had to be strong for Curtis, for him, she would have to be strong.

"Curtis, please, please don't do this, wake up" said Annie as she pleaded with him.

"Maybe try spraying some water on his face, that might work" said Ollie as Maddie, Annie and Matt all turned to look at him.

"Alright yes, water, get me water" said Annie as she nodded her head.

"Here" said Ollie as he gave Annie his bottle of water and she took it from him as she started to drop some water on Curtis' face, but it was not working.

"Just pour the whole bottle on him, trust me, that should wake him up" said Maddie as Annie did not waste a second at all as she did as Maddie suggested and she removed the cover of the bottle as she poured the whole bottle of water on Curtis as that seemed to do the trick and Curtis gasped as he opened his eyes and he coughed.

"Curtis, don't go back to sleep okay, stay with me, stay here" said Annie as Curtis looked like he was going back to sleep anytime soon.

"Don't sleep Curtis, stay awake" said Annie as Curtis nodded and he looked up as he tried to keep his eyes open.

"We need to get him back to the camp now" said Matt as he was worried, Curtis' heartbeat was still very irregular.

"Okay, let's go" said Annie as she stood up from Curtis's side and Matt carried Curtis.

"Be careful with him please" said Annie as she looked at Matt.

"Don't worry Annie, I will" said Matt as he knew that Annie was just very worried right now, and he understood that, she was very worried for Curtis, and so were the rest of them.
