FREEDOM PART II

We arrived at the outskirts of Annapolis the next day armed with the knowledge of handwritten notes and vague blog posts along with the energy of brekfist on the whereabouts of some mysterious fighter "looks like we're gonna be looking for a while" i said as we wandered the more calmer streets of rural Annapolis "apparently it's hidden in some losers garage not far from here and i bet he's so lonely that he wouldn't have the energy to go outside and even talk to us" mumbled cait as we stumbled upon what looked like the house (house is used lightly since it was pretty run down and had its garage covered in comic books and insist ramen) luckily the one thing that it did have was the fully intact and ready to operate mobile fighter that, once investigated, had no record of ever being built besides the fact that it had an n,a,f,c sticker on the side of the cockpit witch seemed to be also fake " to be honest i more scared to turn it on then to touch it again for fear of it breaking since the joints are probably shit" I said stepping into the messey cockpit "well at least the cockpits clean" i continued. "And it looks like they made an effort to modernize the controls since i can barely understand anything in here" but it was at this moment i guess i'd pressed the power button because before long what sounded like a low humming noise turned into the fighter full on standing up as I realized that it i had somehow turned it on "hey be careful you don't know what the buttons do and you could hurt yourself" desperately yelled cate to no avail as the cockpit door closed around me. I noticed that the cockpit Panels instead of sold Metal were replaced with camera panels wrapping around the entirety of the cockpit providing a 2060 degree view for the pilot along with a reclining chair and modernized controls that accumulated in a very capable piloting sweet "try and engage vernors and attempt to hover the joysticks should have a trigger on it to control it" said cate as i wrapped my arms around the two joysticks that controlled both the verners, leg joint movement, and onboard weapons such as the side skirt mounted verners, the arms were controlled by the mobile fighters internal operating computer located in its chest (keep in mind the freedom was the only fighter to have this system) pressing down on the triggers i was able to walk around a bit and also lightly hover " ok now attempt to engage the Vulcans on the side skirts" cait ordered as i pressed the buttons for guns two turrets appeared out of the side skirts but were luckily not engaged yet "alright last thing try and pepper that tree with guns to get a feel for them" she said as i engaged the vulciens and lightly peeped the tree before me,with i thought would be fine but ended up falling over, "right what do i do next now that i uprooted a tree" I said retracting the vulcines " what I would do now is go and consult the n,a,f,c and try and get it registered if you want to but your not 23 yet so ill do it for you" cait said as i climbed out of the cockpit letting her resume control befre she basted off to downtown at a suffencint enough velocity to knock me back a bit.

N,A,F,C downtown Annapolis

Cait arrived at the north american mobile fighter club in an estimated 2:47 seconds,a new personal best, entering the bar she slapped down the freedoms id card to a not surprised Lexington "what did you find the strike or something" she said dryly "no but i did find one that's not registered called the infinite freedom" but Lexington only laughed at this as according to her the freedom was nothing more then some fanboys wet dream and didn't count as a fieldable fighter "oh come on i came all this way just to get laughed at, at least go and look at it" but Lexington just shook her head and said that she would have better luck at Annapolis comics scene there proficient in comic book history. Upon leaving the club she stumbled upon an eager Catherine "so did you get it registered" i said " far from it, apparently the freedoms not a real fighter" cait said in air quotes before she climbed into the freedoms cockpit "I'll meet you back home i'll set this up in the garage so we can get a better look at it" she said before agen blasting off leaving me fairly confused at her disappointment. Once i was back home i could hear the sound of mechanical clanking and drilling has kate had pretty much completely disassembled the freedom(witch was parked next to her mobile fighter from earlyr) and was examining the onboard computer, which had been hooked up to a larger computer, in vigorous detail, her garage was covered in mobile fighter posters and tools that i didn't recognise but one caught my eye, a large poster with the words "GLOBE PARADE" in bold rainbow letters in the center behind a large globe " hey cate whats the Globe parade" as soon as i said this cate half fell out of her chair "you stupid Californian you don't know what the globe parade is, it's the biggest parade ever since the olympics, you might even say it's bigger than that and it's coming in 5 months so i'm surprised you don't know about it" "cait we don't get any of that stuff in the west coast and if we do it in highlights, so all i know is that the u,s lost last time to France" cate scoffed "well we lost because one,our fighters are crap, and two that damn lafayette kept kicking our ass"

"Do you think we might win this season?" I asked Questingley, but cate shook her head In a dismissive manner "if we have a chance our pilots are going to have to step it up a bit-speaking of pilots I just finished working on the computer and am going to need some help installing it so help me if you can" she said risking from her chair while simultaneously Balancing the computer on her Leg, she looked like a proper mechanic there, covered in wires and with a sense of incredible intelligence that I definitely was a fair bit jealous of it I was being honest with myself "hey please hold the hatch for me while I install the computer" she said as I held up the chest hatch with one arm and supported the computer with the Outer as cait slowly slotted It into the fighters chest. And, after reconnecting some wires, the freedom had a fully programmed computer along with the original data being uploaded to her main computer for later analysis.

Wiping some sweat from my brow we took a step back to admire our handwork "well there you go it should be just as capable as most other high class fighters" cait said expecting me to feel a sense of excitement, but in reality it was more "Well first of I just wanna say thank you, thank you for curing me sense of dread about moving and truly making me feel at home" I said with a chuckle as the two of us Embraed in a hug of Pure companionship.
