Lurking Danger
Lucian's manor was quite far from there. Katie was walking speedily so she was holding an open umbrella in one hand while in the other was a lantern to lighten the path.
It was a dark night and rain could start falling anytime. Plus there was even danger of some wild animals.
She shouldn't have stayed this much at the church. Katie scolded herself. Even father insisted that she should stay there but she wanted to return back in hope that she might be able to see Lucian tonight. Clumsy has told that he might return tonight but he wasn't sure either.
"Splash…" the road towards the manor wasn't in quite good quality and the counting rain has worsened the condition.
It was even hard to find a coach or ride at this hour of the night.
There were small puddles of water here and there.
Amidst the pitter-patter of rain, Katie kept moving forward towards her destination cautiously.
