Reconnaissance

In the Forest.

A boy with black hair and 174cm height was seen running aimlessly forward. He was wearing his school uniform which was a white shirt with a black tie and grey pants.

Ryuu felt out of breath from running for over 20 minutes now.

It was a miracle that he could even do that much considering his average body and his non-existent muscles.

Stopping at a clearing, he sat on the ground and looked back.

"Akeno-san, are you doing alright?"

He didn't have to hear her answer as she stopped beside him without showing any tiredness.

It seemed as if she was just strolling around when he was running for dear life.

"I'm doing fine, but what about you? I don't think we should just continue rushing forward without proper directions."

Ryuu sighed as he also knew that doing this was not going to solve anything.

"Do you have any idea as to how we can find some inhabitants of this world?"

He asked hopefully as he didn't know the full power that she could bring out.

"Hmmm, I can use my summoning magic and call out some familiars who can help us with finding the way and do recon."

Akeno replied as she remembered the powers and abilities she had.

"Nice, that sounds good. You can do that."

Ryuu nodded as she started using her magic.

A magic circle appeared in front of her as she closed her eyes and recited some incantations.

She raised her hands as dark rays gathered and flew out of the magic circle.

The dark rays turned into figures as a few imps came out of them. There were a total of 6 imps with dark skin, a pointed tail, and skinny wings.

Ryuu looked at the beings that were summoned as they flew around Akeno waiting for her commands.

"They look like the demons of this world, aren't they just perfect to do recon then."

It was the best way for them to explore and investigate more about this world as humans were not welcomed into the towns as travelers here, more like slaves and food the moment they entered.

Akeno instructed her six imp familiars before they flew in different directions searching for anything like settlements.

Sending them away, they both sat down as Ryuu needed to rest and think of some plans.

"So, Akeno. You really can't say anything about why were summoned here?"

Ryuu asked helplessly as knowing about more would be a lot helpful considering their situation.

Akeno knitted her brows but then sighed as she shook her head.

"Yes, Ryuu. There seems to be something that's blocking me and not allowing me to say anything about it."

He did not give up and tried asking several questions that he was curious about.

"What do you think of this world compared to your world?"

Seeing that Ryuu was still persistent with asking questions, she made up her mind to remember as much as she could to help him.

"Well, come to think of it. This world is slightly similar to my previous world with there being many different races here. But this world is more dangerous and terrific as the ones who rule this world are demons."

He nodded as he knew about the original story from Highschool DxD and how their world was.

"What about the power of that monster? Do you think that's some ordinary monster we can find anywhere in this forest?"

She deliberated for a few seconds as she didn't know how limited her powers were compared to her world.

"I have not yet fought with anything that could bring out my full strength, so I don't know how much I can use my power."

"And about those monsters, I think that was something of the lower level in this area."

"Is that so-"

Ryuu could not finish his sentence as Akeno suddenly stood up and looked at their east with a serious expression.

"My familiar made contact with somebody."

She stated and asked him.

"What do we do?"

He stood up and thought for a moment before commanding.

"Tell your familiar to keep them busy while we slowly sneak upon them."

Akeno nodded and started running toward her familiar with Ryuu following behind.

Crossing through the forest, a group of humanoid creatures appeared in their vision.

"Hide!"

Akeno exclaimed and pulled Ryuu toward a tree as they hid there.

Standing at a close distance, with her soft body pressed against him, he could smell her rosy scent which made his body heat up.

"They are demons."

His body quickly turned cold as he realized that there were demons near them who could possibly eat the two of them.

'Calm down...there's Akeno by my side.'

He took deep breaths and calmed down to not ruin their chance.

With a small voice, he spoke as he looked at the demons.

"Akeno, can you use your hypnotizing power and get information out of them without killing them?"

She appeared surprised and thought for a second before replying near his ear almost whispering.

"I can do that but there are about 8 of them and I don't think I can do it on everyone."

Ryuu deliberated and came up with a plan as his eyes lit up.

"Tell your other familiars to come here and cause some disturbance in different directions. Then, when one of them is left alone, use your power on him."

Akeno nodded and was amazed at the quick planning of Ryuu. She closed her eyes and communicated with her familiars. Later, she opened her eyes again and replied to him.

"I did as you told."

"Great, now we wait till they separate and catch the lonely fish."

He smiled as he took a few sniffs of the soft body that seemed to press with more weight than before.

'*gulp*, she is really that Akeno Himejime. Her body is on another level than those real girls. Not like I ever touched one.'

His body again started to heat up as it seem to like changing its temperature. But considering the situation, he tried to think about other things to cool himself down.

'Now is not the time. Amitabha...amitabha....'

Thankfully, the imps seemed to have arrived at the place as they made weird noises around the forest making the demons take the bait and separate.

An imp started moving in their direction while making a single demon follow it.

When the demon was just about 4 meters away from them, Akeno suddenly jumped ahead and used her magic on it.

'Ah there goes the soft body...'

Ryuu sighed in regret before turning around to look at what happened with the demon.

Akeno successfully hypnotized the demon as a purple mist was surrounding it and keeping it in place.

"Ryuu, I've done it. But there's only about five minutes before he can move again."

He nodded as he took a proper glance at the demon.

The demon was brown in color with a bulky body standing at around 2 meters tall. There were tusks coming out of his mouth and he had short black hair on his head.

It was wearing some tribal clothes and seemed really dirty with a lot of scars on its body.

"Try asking it about the place where they stay and anything it knows about the other races."

"Okay."
