27 Finn's Wish!

Chapter 27: Finn's Wish!

Shiro came in and was immediately confused by the situation.

From his perspective, from the moment he came in, Apollo glanced at him and then started spitting blood.

The protection mechanism in the seal was automatically triggered, and after leaving a bunch of incomprehensible words, he returned to heaven.

The captain of Apollo Familia, after seeing his beloved god returned to heaven, left the meeting room as if he had lost his soul, to carry out the last orders left by Apollo.

"So what were they here for?"

"Apollo probably wanted to probe the secrets in you but got counterattacked and nearly killed himself."

Shiro remembered the skill he possessed, named [Celestial Star Spirit's Protection].

He had guessed that the one who could resurrect him and grant him the ability to traverse different worlds must be stronger than the gods of this world.

However, he hadn't expected that a mere counterattack from the blessing on him could send Apollo back to heaven.

"Wait a second, if Apollo returns to heaven, will other gods know about my problem?"

This was the most severe situation.

If Apollo returned to heaven and retained his memories from the lower world, even if he couldn't descend again, as long as he informed other gods who were about to descend to the lower world, they would find a way to uncover Shiro's secrets.

"Well, you don't have to worry about this; Apollo is already 'dead'."

As a partner, Loki still has the obligation to clarify Shiro's doubts.

"You might not have noticed, but Apollo's divine power didn't actually resist the counterattack from the blessing's owner on you."

"Should I say they were of the same origin? Instead, Apollo's divine power was turned against him, used as a knife to bring about his downfall."

With palms joined, she sliced downward in a forceful cutting gesture.

"He's been killed by his own divine power, and it will take tens of thousands of years before he can be resurrected. Now that he's returned to heaven, he's in a state akin to sleeping from a human's perspective."

"The words from before were Apollo's last words, huh." Shiro murmured.

"Then about the reincarnation..." He couldn't help but ask.

"That's true. Why do you think some gods don't want to fall in love with mortals?" Loki questioned.

"It's because their lifespans are too short. If a god falls in love with a mortal, the god is always the one who ends up being heartbroken."

"However, there are also gods like Apollo who seek out their partner's reincarnation."

"However, gods of such nature are more likely to be feared and shunned by mortals, rather than being seen as romantic."

Her expression was slightly despondent; it looked like she also feared that one day, the children of her Familia would all leave her.

However, Loki's mood was not depressed for too long, and she quickly returned to her usual cheerful demeanor.

"Let's not talk about this anymore; the expedition is about to start."

"Finn learned that you have a magical artifact and wanted to ask you something, but I can't make that decision for you. I just want you to make sure to come back alive."

After saying this, Loki clamored to buy two more bottles of wine and cleared out the remaining wine in the meeting room.

The time came to evening, and Shiro found Finn, who was dealing with things necessary for the expedition.

However, the first to speak was the other party.

"Is everything okay over there with god Apollo?"

This wise Pallum captain had already guessed that the reason for Apollo's return was not as simple as merely invoking divine power.

However, he wouldn't say it out loud; instead, he preferred to subtly probe, employing a questioning method typical of the wise.

"The guild's verdict is already out; our Familia won't be affected by this incident, and we'll even receive the property left by Apollo Familia."

Shiro's message was clear: the guild's investigation results were already available, and they should be regarded as the truth; he couldn't reveal the actual situation.

"Is that so? Then, I have more responsibilities on my shoulders. I don't know whether that's good or bad, and I also heard from Lefiya that you have a magical artifact that can store items."

Seeing Shiro's secretive manner, the tactful Finn didn't probe further. Instead, he asked about the main reason for seeing him.

"Yes, I do have such a thing."

"Can I ask what its storage capacity is?"

"It should be able to hold almost all the supplies needed for the expedition."

"What about the restrictions?"

"Only I can use it."

By this point, Shiro also understood the other party's intentions.

The manpower and material resources required to transport supplies in the dungeon were too high, and Shiro's artifact could easily solve this problem.

"Can I trouble you to transport some of our supplies during this expedition? I can increase your share of the income by two levels." Finn asked.

Shiro is also a member of Loki Familia; technically, Finn could ask him to transport supplies without any compensation, and this task wouldn't cause Shiro any trouble.

It was just a matter of thought.

However, Finn still chose to improve Shiro's treatment, showing that this Pallum captain had his own ways of winning people over.

"No problem, but why only some supplies? Why don't I carry all the supplies?"

Shiro didn't know much about the logistics aspect and, driven by his curiosity, asked Finn for clarification.

"Our Familia needs to go to the deeper floors, so most members will camp and rest behind, while our executives continue to explore downwards."

"We also need to consider contingencies, so the supplies need to be divided into several parts."

"The part you're carrying is the hardest to transport, which indeed results in significant savings of time and energy for our Familia."

After hearing Finn's explanation, Shiro also understood why Finn had been busy with paperwork these past few days.

Even though Finn was quick at processing files, there were too many factors to consider in an expedition, such as the distribution of supplies among different groups, who should carry how much, the Familia's finances, and the impact on the team's combat strength.

However, it was said that Finn had been training Raul as his successor.

"By the way, Torajirou, may I ask a personal question?"

Just when Shiro thought the other party would ask about who taught him his swordsmanship or something similar, the other party asked him a weird question.

"Do you have any unique insights into relationships?"

"...Why are you asking me this?"

Finn displayed his usual benevolent smile.

"I've noticed you've been getting along really well with Ais and Lefiya recently, so I wanted to ask if you have any special ways to enhance relationships with women."

"I'm still single, and for now, Ais and Lefiya are just my friends." Shiro hurriedly explained.

"Don't you want them to be your lovers?"

Finn's words rendered Shiro speechless.

Honestly, both Lefiya and Ais are very beautiful, their appearances surpassing even celebrities from his previous life.

And, well, it's natural for men to have some lewd thoughts once in a while.

But to say it out loud, it seems only mature adults can bring up such awkward topics so casually.

Shiro felt he had underestimated Finn, who usually looked like an inexperienced shota and was single, leading him to think of him as a naive virgin.

But weren't there many women pursuing Finn in Orario?

Why was Finn still single? He couldn't be gay, right?

Shiro's gaze towards Finn became somewhat strange.

Noticing the change in Shiro's expression, Finn quickly explained.

"The reason I joined Loki Familia was actually to revive the Pallum race. I also asked Loki to fight for the alias 'Braver' at the Denatus. So, I wanted to ask if you have any advice on relationships."

Ah, so even a shota wants to play the harem game.

But restricting it to a single race doesn't seem right; people should be free to choose whomever they like.

However, Shiro really had no solid advice and could only tell Finn to keep looking, suggesting he might find someone eventually.

So, Finn simply left a message, 'If you have any good advice, feel free to tell me,' and then led Shiro to store the supplies.
