27. Take Down The Buggy Pirates

What Izumi had done astonished Zoro, Nami, and even the animal ear cosplayer.

How could they not? It was their first time seeing someone release a thunderbolt from his palms.

"Wohoho. Amazing! I also want to be a ninja." Meanwhile, Luffy was amazed.

The man with animal ears exclaimed.

"Don't tell me, he's a Devil Fruit user?"

"About me? That's right. I'm a rubber human. I ate Gomu Gomu no Mi." Instead of Izumi, it was Luffy who answered.

"I'm not talking about you, damned straw hat!"

Meanwhile, Zoro murmured.

"Is this the power of a ninja?"

"Hey, what the hell is he? Did he just release lightning from his palms?"

"How should I know? I'm new to him myself."

Izumi came down from the building and stood beside Luffy. Glancing at the huge lion, Izumi said.

"Luffy, that lion is so big. We can get a lot of meat from it."

"Meat!!! I suddenly feel hungry."

"Then, I'll take care of it."

Izumi took out two Shurikens. Then, he threw two of them simultaneously. Of course, since the lion knew Izumi was about to attack, it was prepared. Two Shurikens missed the target. However…

"Naive!"

Izumi moved his fingers and hands as if he was pulling something. However, what he did was not as if, but rather he did pull the translucent wires tied to the two Shuriken.

Izumi manipulated the wires so that they could bind the lion. The rider, a man cosplaying animal ears, jumped from the lion to escape the wires.

Izumi took out two Kunais.

"Fuuton: Shinkuujin!"

Izumi imbued those two Kunais with wind-infused chakra through his breath. As a result, the Kunais were sharper than ordinary weapons.

While doing so, Izumi performed the martial art he just learned.

"Cyclone Dagger!"

Izumi spun in the mid-air and then plunged while doing spinning slashes at the lion. There was a cyclone energy effect after he performed those slashes.

*Splatter*

Blood splattered from the body of the huge lion. However, the lion was still able to survive even though the slashes from Izumi were quite deep.

"Merciless Dagger!"

Izumi didn't stop after seeing the lion still survive. He immediately performed another skill. Izumi launched rapid slash after slash that made the man cosplaying animal ears horrified.

*Boom*

The big lion that fell to the ground made the ground shake like a small earthquake. Izumi seemed to want to vomit when he saw a lot of blood splattered from the lion due to what he did. He wasn't used to seeing blood yet. And the smell of blood made him dizzy.

Izumi tried to act strong in front of Luffy and said,

"Luffy, we get a lot of meat."

Meanwhile, Zoro furrowed his brows. He instantly saw him.

"So he's new to this, huh?"

At that very moment.

"Don't move. Or I will kill this man!" The cosplayer with animal ears threatened everyone by using a hostage. The gun was pointed at the hostage's head. No doubt he would shoot if Izumi, Luffy, and the others made any suspicious moves.

It made Izumi frown. He didn't really care about the hostage. But the way that animal ears did made him furious.

Izumi tried to take a deep breath, then let it out slowly. He did it many times until his mind calmed down enough.

His eyes sharpened, his grip on his weapons strengthened, and his mind focused. The current Izumi looked like a starving beast ready to pounce on its prey.

"You bastard, stop! If you—"

Before that guy finished his sentence, Izumi disappeared.

*Slash*

He suddenly saw the hand that was holding the gun thrown into the air. There was also another shadow behind it which was none other than Izumi.

"AHHHH. MY–MY HAND!!!!"

He immediately fell to the ground while holding his neatly cut right hand.

"This guy flipped." Zoro commented after he saw Izumi's change.

Even so, Izumi was still holding his churned throat. He glanced at the old man who was none other than the hostage.

"Old man, get out of here! There are a lot of pirates, so this place isn't safe for an ordinary old man like you!"

"Don't joke around, kid. I'm the mayor of this city. How can I let those bastards do as they please? This is the city I built with everyone. I have the pride to protect my own ci—"

Before that old man finished, Izumi chopped the back of that old man's neck.

"Hey, what did you do to that old man?" Nami couldn't help but shout when she saw Izumi knock that old man.

"He's in the way."

"That's right."

"Indeed."

Even Luffy and Zoro agreed with what Izumi said.

"Ahhh, what the hell did you do to my henchman?"

Someone arrived with his shout. That guy had a round red nose and covered his face with makeup like a clown. There were also painted crossbones going down his face. Not only was his face like a clown, but even his attire was no different from a clown he usually saw in his world. Well, somehow he resembled the Joker from the Batman movie. He was none other than Buggy.

There was also another guy who came with him. That guy rode a one-wheel bicycle like someone performed in a circus. Then, some pirate mobs also appeared afterward.

Buggy gritted his teeth in anger.

"You bastard! You even cut my henchman's hand. I will cut your body into pieces!"

"Heh, I didn't expect one of the crews from the most admirable Pirate King to become so degenerate like this. What a disappointment." Izumi just smirked at Buggy.

What Izumi said stunned everyone.

"Ehhh...You've been on the Pirate King's ship?"

"So what? And remembering that straw hat you're wearing makes me think of that annoying Shanks."

"Shanks? You know Shanks?"

"Of course, I know. He also boarded the same ship as me. Just remembering it makes me sick."

Luffy was really surprised by Buggy's statement that Shanks had boarded the legendary ship where the Pirate King was there. But he wondered why Shanks had never told him about it.

"Luffy, I can tell you later. But first, you need to see your surroundings!"

"Surroundings?"

"It's so deserted, isn't it? It's so quiet, isn't it? Not all pirates sail across the ocean just for adventure. You might become a pirate wanting to be the Pirate King. Zoro probably joined you as a pirate because he wanted to be the number 1 swordsman. But, you also have to remember! Most pirates will rob other people of wealth, happiness, and even life. As they have done in this city."

Luffy, Zoro, and Nami were silent. Especially Nami who felt the same way due to the cruel pirates who had colonized and enslaved her village.

After Izumi said that, Luffy's expression turned serious.

Buggy smirked while spreading his arms, he said.

"What's wrong with that? Pirates do the pirate thingy, robbing, and looking for treasure. This is what is called a true pirate."

"You're noisy, big red nose!" Luffy said in a deep voice.

"W-what did you say?" Couldn't hold his anger, he ordered his henchmen. "Get them! There's only four of them!"

They attacked together by surrounding Izumi, Luffy, Zoro, and Nami so they couldn't escape.

Knowing that Nami is the weakest of the four, Izumi, Luffy, and Zoro surround her to protect her.

"Gomu Gomu no —"

"Santouryuu: —"

"Suiton: —"

Luffy, Zoro, and Izumi were ready to launch their attacks. After the pirates advanced against them, the three of them launched their attacks simultaneously.

" — Gatling!"

" — Tatsumaki!"

" — Bakusui Shouha!"

Luffy released a blurry and rapid barrage of punches to create the illusion of multiple arms. Zoro spun with his swords to create a tornado that slashes and blew away those pirates. While Izumi spat out a great volume of water from his mouth, swallowed up and crushed the enemies with the advancing surge of the wave.

The battlefield was cleaned up after three of them released their AOE attacks. Only Buggy, the circus guy, and the animal ears cosplayer guy left.
