22. I Got a Call From Her

Izumi went to the class after lunch. When he passed by Kyouko who seemed to be chatting with her friends, he quietly held Kyouko's hand for a moment. Of course, Kyouko instantly stiffened. But moments later, she felt a piece of paper in her palm. Spontaneously, Kyouko turned to Izumi who only smiled for a moment, then focused on playing with his phone.

She looked at the piece of paper. It contains email and phone numbers.

Izumi understood that Kyouko looked like she wanted to talk to him about something. However, Kyouko looked flustered when she spoke face to face. That was why Izumi gave her an email and phone number, hoping she would contact him. If not, then his hunch was wrong.

What he was about to create was something like a machine that could fly. There was also a camera lens for recording and taking photos that will be installed on that machine. Of course, it was a drone. What else if not that?

The drone has 5 parts.

The first is Framework. The framework is a part of the drone that provides durability to the drone. Moreover, Izumi could add a mini machine gun inside the framework. Since the Dimensional Shop provided a mini machine gun complete with bullets, Izumi bought one so that it could be attached to the drone frame.

The second is the Engine, this engine will provide flight speed and acceleration. So Izumi made a motor, an electronic speed controller, and some propellers whose components were compatible with each other.

The third is the Navigator, which provides navigation for the drone and determines its altitude and range.

The fourth is Energy Core, this energy core obviously provides energy to the drone. In short, a Battery.

The last one is Chip, which is the brain of the drone so that the drone can autopilot, and can be controlled remotely. Izumi also set the chip with system commands so that he could use it with Voice commands.

What is lacking is a battery or Energy Core. He planned to use a battery that was made of something similar to magic as a supply. For example, a Lacrima that was already available in the Dimensional Shop.

Several types of Lacrimas are on the list. There are communications, explosives, surveillance, fuel, etc. But what Izumi needed was a Charged Lacrima. He could recharge with his magic, then attach it to the drone as a battery.

"Well, even though my SC is only 21k, I can buy 2 Charged Lacrimas, and the rest is still enough to buy a Silver-rank Martial Art and a Silver-rank Internal Skill." Izumi said in his heart.

Then, he thought about what martial art he wanted to buy. Up until now, he only learned hand-to-hand combat using fists and legs. When using weapons, Izumi could only use a dagger or twin daggers.

"I'd better buy a twin dagger art or a dagger art. Sword arts, spear arts, or other arts can be learned later, that's if I'm really good at using weapons other than daggers."

"Who is this?"

"What is it? Do you want to ask me out on a date after you've got my phone number?" Izumi chuckled.

"Sigh, this girl... Is she in Tsundere mode?" Izumi muttered while holding the part of the drone he wanted to make. Apart from recharging the Charged Lacrima, he also still needs tuning before putting the parts together to make a complete drone. For the other Charged Lacrima, he will charge it first before putting it into the storage space.

Izumi packed the things he needed to assemble the drone into a backpack. Then he headed to the cake shop his mother owned.

"Mother, I'm gonna take this!" Izumi said while packing the cake.

"It's so rare you ask for a cake. Is it for a girl?" Iori looked at Izumi suspiciously.

Then, Izumi just nodded lightly.

"Short of."

"Eh, since when did you have a girlfriend? You never told me." Iori was surprised. She knew Izumi had always been alone and had never played with a single friend before. Never did she imagine that Izumi would meet a girl once he entered high school.

Izumi shrugged his shoulders.

"You never asked me."

"I'm going!"

Walking around for 15 minutes, Izumi arrived in front of Kyouko's house.

Izumi pressed the bell button and waited. Not long after, the door was opened by Kyouko.

"Come in!" Kyouko let Izumi in.

"Here, Hori-san, I brought you a cake." Izumi said with a smile.

Just like when she saw him yesterday, Izumi's appearance was much different from when he was at school. She wondered, why did he do that.

"Did he deliberately look nerdy at school, and look cool outside of school? The complete opposite of me?"

"Ah, what did I say? Why do I think he looks cool? That's embarrassing."

Her face reddened without her notice because of her thoughts. Meanwhile, Izumi tried to call her.

"Hori-san?"

"Hori Kyouko-san."

"Kyouko!"

After Izumi called her thrice, only then did Kyouko respond.

"Yes!"

"What are you dreaming about? I've been calling you."

But then, her face turned red when she realized Izumi had called her Kyouko.

"I'll prepare the drinks."

Kyouko ran away with the excuse of wanting to prepare a drink.

"She overreacted when I called her by her given name."

Well, calling by a given name is generally used by someone who knows each other well, such as family, relatives, close friends, or lovers.

So, when Kyouko was called by Izumi earlier, she flushed in embarrassment.

Souta ran from inside and said.

"Big brother, you came?"

"Hello, Souta." Izumi reached out his hand and patted Souta's head. Then he added, "I brought something interesting, do you wanna see it?"

"I want to see!"

Izumi sat down and took out all the things from his bag.

"Big brother, what is this?" Souta asked curiously.

"Hehe, this is something like a mini helicopter I made. It's not done yet though." After Izumi replied, he took out the drone parts.

Souta was confused.

Izumi just smiled and began to assemble the drone parts. Souta watched Izumi carefully as Izumi assembled the drones one by one.

"Wow, so cool!"

After all of the parts were assembled, the shape of the drone looked like an eagle with red color and black lines. Each wing had a large and small propeller. At the bottom, a mini machine gun was attached instead of the eagle's legs.
