101. Conference

2 days later.

In the luxurious conference room inside the demon lord's castle, five Evila warriors are sitting at a long table. A total of eight chairs were arranged on each side of the long table in the fashion of confronting each other. Five of them were occupied while one person sat at a position overlooking them with an attendant standing next to her. The one who sat in an overlooked position was of course a demon lord, Eveam, herself. And the one next to her was Kiria, her attendant.

The five Evila warriors are Marione Judou Crisis, a man with white and copper-haired color, a curly mustache, and a big scar around his left eye. Ornoth, a man with a wolf face and blue fur on his body. Grayald, he is a dark-skinned young man with dark yellow hair color and eyes. Iraora Grokin, a dark-skinned bald head man with a huge body. And Shublars Crusel, the only woman among the Cruel Brigade members, has a voluptuous body and seductive aura. She has long hair that reaches her waist with blue-violet color on her hair and eyes.

Then two people came from outside the conference room. Those two people were Aquinas and Izumi. Eveam had been told by Aquinas that Izumi would be joining the Cruel Brigade, and she immediately agreed because she had seen his abilities and received a recommendation from Teckil. Moreover, by letting Izumi join the Cruel Brigade, the demon lord gained a new power which she considered to be almost on par with Aquinas'.

Aquinas announced.

"There will be a new Cruel Brigade member." Aquinas saw Izumi and gestured to introduce himself.

"My name is Izumi, nice to meet you."

The members of Cruel Brigade except Marione didn't expect they got a new member. Different from the other Evila, he has longhorns, although the other one looks broken. Then, golden snake eyes and long white hair reached his waist. He also has red hands and long-sharp nails. What made him look attractive was his kimono with an autumn maple leaf pattern that fits pretty well with his appearance.

"What a charming young man."

Izumi heard a seductive voice from a woman. Izumi turned his head toward her.

"Such big weapons." Izumi responded straightforwardly while glancing at Shublars' breasts which looked almost spilled out.

Everyone didn't expect Izumi to say so straightforwardly.

"Ufufufu, are you interested?" Shublars chuckled and tried to tempt him.

"Only a fool won't be interested in those." Izumi nodded.

*cough* *cough*

"What is it, Aquinas? Do you need medicine?" Izumi glanced to his side. It was as if Izumi was asking if Aquinas was sick.

"Fuck kid! You're in front of the demon lord! Don't say something indecent! And who the fuck needs medicine if it's not you?" It was Marione who yelled at Izumi.

"Since when did I say something indecent? You're the one who said "Fuck" twice. Your Majesty demon lord is still 18, don't try to teach her inappropriate words! And Aquinas was coughing, while I'm not, it means he needs medicine!" Izumi yelled back while pointing his finger at Marione.

Aquinas twitched. He wanted to respond, but…

"Silence!" Eveam stopped them.

She continued.

"We have an important matter right now. Please take a seat, Aquinas, Izumi!"

Aquinas and Izumi immediately took their seats.

Eveam started to talk.

"I apologize in advance for not informing you that the Gabranth plan to cross the border to wage a war. Although Marione over there had been informed by his subordinate when Gabranth was about to cross the border, I'm sure he planned to take action, so I had to stop him. And thanks to Izumi, the bridge was destroyed."

"I don't understand why Your Majesty wanted to stop me. Even if the war starts, Evila will win in the end." Marione said in displeasure.

"Hey dude, that cliche line sounds dangerous! People who say that, most of their lives end earlier." Izumi thought that line was some kind of death flag from supporting characters he often read in the novels.

"Are you trying to curse me, kid?"

"That's right. What do you think? Got a problem?" Izumi gestured with his hand to come over.

"Wait, wait, don't get too heated!" Shublars tried to break up their quarrel. Marione wanted to argue back, but at this rate, this meeting would take up a lot of time.

"But, why need to destroy the bridge? Although he managed to delay the war while preventing any harm that would befall the Evila by that, didn't that mean it contradicts Your Majesty's wishes to make the possibility of bringing the two races together?"

This time, Grayald spoke as if he wanted to make Izumi take the blames.

What Eveam desired was a world where everyone join hands and support each other. Not only to make peace between continents, but she wanted every individual to live as equals.

The bridge was the last remaining symbol that acted as a connecting thread between the two countries. As long as that bridge existed, there was still hope that the countries could eventually be able to treat each other as if they were friendly neighbors.

But Izumi destroyed it. Gabranth had spent so much effort preparing the stage of the war, by destroying the bridge, it would feel as if their pride had been trampled on. It means they will be more hostile to Evila.

"Heh, I even made Barid, one of three warriors, become half-dead in my hands. They should be grateful that I just destroyed the bridge, not killed them." Izumi crossed his arms while retorting Grayald.

"You! Shouldn't you feel guilty that you've made Her Majesty's wish vanish?"

"Her wish? If she decides to counter them with force, a lot of blood is still shed which she will reject because what she wants is peace. If she stays silent and lets Gabranth wreck around Xaos, her wish is no more than fart! If you have a better idea then spill it out right now! I want to hear!"

Grayald was just silent after he heard what Izumi said. After a moment of silence, Eveam said.

"Because the previous demon lord was the one who sparked the flames of a feud between the other races, we left in bad shape. The other races are under misunderstanding that I want to exterminate the other races. That's why I want to clear this misunderstanding."

After Eveam said that, Marione couldn't hold up anymore and pent up his complaint.

"Such ignorance! Your majesty, you're completely ignorant about this continent's current state of affairs! That spark of flame you've been talking about has already transformed into a war. In order to protect the Evila people, no, to protect our family, we need to take up arms and fight!"

Although Marione's words were so presumptuous, what he said was true.

Eveam shook her head.

"If we could light up the fire, then there must be a way we can put it out!"

"The only way to get rid of the fire is by force. The fire is not as weak as you can simply extinguish with your nonsense words, Your Majesty! They had already accumulated deep hatred because of the former Demon Lord's actions. And the chains of vengeance can't be broken that easily."

And at this time, Marione's words were improper. So, Izumi responded.

"Using force isn't going to change anything or solve the problem. It will just make matters worse."

"Then, tell me how to make Gabranth and Humas stop this feud!"

As they were arguing, Aquinas decided to cut their conversation.

"Stop it, both of you!"

Marione was quite annoyed by Aquinas who suddenly cut them. He shouted.

"Who are you to order? You're not in the same position as Her Majesty."

Aquinas responded with nothing, but let out his killing intent toward Marione which made Marione stiffen in fear. Marione exhaled and decided to restrain himself.

After a few moments. It was Shublars' turn to say.

"Well, I think both Her Majesty's sentiments and Marione's ideals have their own merits. However, the bridge is already gone. So instead of complaining about what happened, would it be better if we thought about what our next plan would be?"

Eveam quietly shut her eyes while opening her mouth to speak.

"We will form an alliance with the Humas!"

As soon as she said that, time seemed to stop. The Cruel Brigade's members didn't expect Eveam to say something so ridiculous like that.

"Stop playing around, Your Majesty!" Marione filed a direct complaint. However, Eveam put a serious expression.

"I'm completely serious this time."

Eveam told them about the previous letter she had sent many times. The Humas race had been caught in a trap because of such a letter in the past so they would naturally doubt the credibility of the peace treaty letter that was sent this time.

They argued about how dangerous it would be to have a peace treaty conference with Humas. But, Eveam insisted.

Eveam thought, since Evila destroyed the bridge, the Humas race probably understood that Evila didn't want conflict. So, this was a chance to make contact with the Humas.

Eveam glanced at Kiria and said.

"Kiria, please prepare the letter immediately!"

"As you wish."

Kiria respectfully bowed her head, then went out of the conference room.

"This Conference is done for today. If the situation changes, then I will immediately convene another conference. Dismissed!" Eveam ended the conference after she told Kiria to prepare the letter.
