DESTRUCTION

on the 2nd day of our journey, we reached our destination the edge of the black forest.

after dismounting we decided to set up camp for the day and begin the hunt tomorrow, the place was a little clearing surrounded by trees for extra cover.

the next morning me my father and two other hunters and leaving behind the other three people we brought to take care of the carriage and to look after the horses.

my dad said that the forest is the place in which the guardian dragon we worship lives and that a portion of our hunt every month is given to the guardian as an offering.

well, that's something new I learned today.

the only thing I knew about dragons was that they are the strongest in the world and even the weakest of them can obliterate a small mountain.

maybe ill get a chance to see him up close during the hunt, that would be cool.

as we are entering the forest, dad pulls out his sword which was crafted using the body of the griffin that he killed, he says that there are a lot of strong creatures in this forest, like goblins and orcs.

after the hunt, we went back to our camp organized our spoils, and went to sleep for the day.

the next day when we were getting ready to set out we heard a roar coming from the black forest.

~ROOAAARRRRRRRR~ followed by a slight tremor ~Boooom~

our houses were really agitated, to say the least, I asked dad what that was and he said that it was probably the dragon in the forest fighting.

after about a minute of continuous roars and a few tremors here and there, a lot of forest creatures rushed out seemingly to get away from the dragon and whatever it was fighting.

after seeing all this dad also decided to postpone the hunt and decided to head back to the village and come back another time.

after a day of journeying back, we saw a dragon flying in our direction and destroying anything that moves with its breath coming from the direction of the forest.

seeing this dad immediately ordered us to take cower and hide in the trees and away from its sight.

we abandoned the cart full of spoils and rushed into the woods to hide.

the dragon getting closer saw the cart full of meat and dived down into it and started eating.

only after it landed did I realize how big it was its head is big enough to eat an entire mammoth whole, and its wings stretched out twice as far as the length of its entire body.

we also saw it also appeared to be injured, with huge bite wounds on its long neck and tear marks on its humongous wings.

after eating it all the dragon took off to the skies, but after realizing the direction it took we quickly followed it in pursuit and wished it is not going where we all thought it was going, to the village.

after a few hours, we lost sight of it but we never stopped and headed straight for the village at top speed.

on the way, we caught a glimpse of an old man on side of the path grilling and eating a rabbit, dad asked him if he had seen a dragon pass by here and he said yes and pointed in the direction of the village and said it went that way, and we thanked him and continued or pursuit.

but why didn't it attack the old man? as far as we have seen the dragon killed anything living in its path so why was he okay?

I put these thoughts away as we see smoke clouds rising from the direction village.

when we reached the village gate all we could see was fire and burned bodies.

despair and sadness hit me as I suddenly rushed towards my house hoping that at least she is alive, but when I reached there all I could see was a burned-down hut and my mother's body half-burned and lying on the outside of the front door.

my knees give out in front of my mother's body I cry holding her body in my arms.

"DAAMIITTTT!!, two of you follow me and the rest stay behind my son and look for any survivors"

"Yes chief! but where are u going?" a hunter asks back

"I'm going to kill that bloody dragon," the chief says Oozing bloodlust. and takes off to the place the dragon is located with his sword drawn.

just then the dragon land in front of dad and used its tail to knock every one of their horses bud the chief managed to jump off and used to attack the dragon with his sword drawn aiming for the wounds already on the dragon and attacked it

the dragon screeched in pain and took into the skies and shook off the blade after locking eyes on the chief the dragon used its breath but was all avoided by the chief, the dragon seeing none of its attacks hit dived close to it to land an attack

after a while of fighting due to an attack was going to hit Kuro who was on the sidelines the chief put himself in front of the attack and used his body to block the fireball using his sword but still got burned.

using this opportunity the dragon quickly came and using his mouth ate the chief

but couldn't crush him in its mouth due to the chief using all his strength to hold the moth from barely closing and killing him but the dragon used its breath and directly burned the chief alive in its mouth and killed him.

Kuro was watching all this in shock and despair as one by one the rest of the hunters got killed one by one by the rouge attacks of the dragon after finally only he was alone.

his dad's sword flew out of the dragon's mouth and stuck itself into the ground before Kuro.

seeing his dad's sword a resolute look flashes in his eyes as he approaches it and takes it in his hands as he feels the residual heat from the sword.

he screams and runs towards the dragon in full sprint and the dragon returns by firing a full-power blast right at him.

just as the two were about to clash something crashes in between the two and dissipates the blast and throws Kuro a meter back by the sheer force of it

after coming to his senses Kuro looks towards the crash site to see the old man whom he had seen on the way back.

the old man looks toward Kuro and says "ill take it from here"

as he brings his hands close a blue energy ball comes into being while he chants

"kaaaa...meeee...haaaaa.....meeeee...." feeling the danger from the light ball forming in the newcomer's hands the dragon hurriedly brings all its strength and releases the strongest breath attack by far and releases it towards the old man as he's finished his chant "haaaaaaaaaaaaa...."

BOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!!!!

as the two attacks collide the blue one instantly overpowers the other and falls on the dragon and slowly reduces it to ash.

after obliterating the dragon the old man comes before

Kuro seeing all of this asks the man "who are you?" before passing out...
