4 - Meeting With My Life Changer(|)

Months later, my business moved smoothly and I made lots of money. People really patronized me, probably because I was a young teenager, hustling. I was able to save some money and planned to save some more, in order to attend collage.

One sad morning. I was speaking with Sandra when all of a sudden, I rushed to the water closet and spewed. I had developed body temperature and became scared. Sandra examined me carefully and knew immediately, what was up.

"Who did this to you? Talk to me dear..." She asked gently. I gave her a puzzled look.

"I don't understand. Please what do you mean?"

"Florence you are pregnant! Talk to me..." I became alarmed.

"I am? Oh no! Not now!"

"What is it Florence? Who did it, and how did it happen?" My eyes became wet.

"My uncle... He is responsible. You remember what I told you he did to me at his house?"

"Oh goodness! What are you going to do now?" I wiped my tears.

"Sandra, I can't keep this baby. It's my uncle's. You have to help me.

" You mean abortion? "

"Probably. Do you know of a very good doc? It may be too late to use pills." Sandra sighed.

"Hmm... okay. I will get you one. But... It's really dangerous you know?. I'm scared of your life."

"I know, but what can I do? I have a lot to achieve in life. The baby can't come now."

"Alright. If that's what you want."

"Thank you so much." We hugged.

Two days later. Sandra was able to hook me up with a doctor that was very good in carrying out abortions. The abortion was carried out successful. But trust me, it was way painful and I bled. After some strong pain killers I was relieved.

A week later, Friday precisely. Sandra and I were done for the day, and we cleared up, then retired for the night. At exactly 1am, armed robbers invaded the area.

They were able to break into our room and of course made away with my savings for Uni and some upkeep money, Sandra had. I wept bitterly and cursed the robbers.

#Anyway, I got to start from the scratch again# I said to myself.

One faithful day. A Benz car pulled over at my place, and a richly dressed man, stepped down to eat.

"Good day sir, welcome. Please what can I offer you?" I said in smiles. The man kept starring at me, wondering why a girl with well spoken English, would be out here at this time. Instead of being in school.

"Sir?" I said, trying to bring him back, after noticing his lost look.

"Yes. Um, fried rice with a soft drink will do. Please do package some for me to take home as well."

"Alright sir. I will get them right away." I left to get his meal while he was really worried and disturbed.

#Could it be family issues?# He asked himself. I served his meal and the packaged. I was about to leave, when he called me back.

"Young lady, please may I have a word with you?" I nodded and stood to hear what he had to say.

"Please do sit. It's not a standing conversation." I sat nervously and listened patiently to what he had to say.

"I am sorry to pry into your private life, What is your name? And shouldn't you be in school?" He asked with much curiosity.

"I am sorry sir to just sound rude, but how is that your business?"

"Please dear, just tell me. I may be of help." I was silent. Then I reluctantly spoke.

"It's a long story sir. My name is Florence Smart. I can't be in school because, I have no money."

"hmm... I am sorry about that dear. How about your parents? Can I at least speak with them?" I shot an angry look.

"Excuse me Sir, are you using tactics to know more about me?"

"Oh no dear, it's not like that. I only want to speak with them, to see if I can help in any way. I mean no harm."

"My parents are dead!" I said and let loose of my tears. I bent down and wept. He drew closer and patted my back, in consolation .

"It's okay my daughter. God will make a way, where there seems to be no way. You see, they are gone and no amount of tears can bring them back. I will help you." I wiped my face and brightened up.

"You will?" I asked, in so much believe.

"Yes dear. Here, call me when you can." He said and stretched forth his complementary card.

"Oh thank you sir. God bless you."

"It's okay. Er... I will take my leave now." He paid for his meal and left.

#What plan does he have for me?# I asked myself, as I continued starring at the card.

#God, may he be the God sent to pay my fees# I said in hope.

The evening approached, and I cleared up, then retired for the night.
