Chapter 9: A Dangerous Discovery

Snarling, Damien shifted his position, getting ready to spring. When he pulled his lips back, Parker saw fangs instead of canines. They were small enough to be easily concealed, but she was looking for them now.

He was a vampire!

Not realizing the danger she’d put herself in, Parker held her hand out to Damien.

“Does blood make you squeamish?” she asked, teasing slightly. Damien snarled at her again, and he tried to lunge at her. With a growl, Lucien shoved his hands into Damien’s chest, pushing his brother into the wall with enough force to cause the paintings to fall from their hooks.

Damien was momentarily stunned. Lucien moved too fast for Parker to see, grabbing her wrist so tightly she was sure he would bruise her. He yanked her from the room, dragging her at a speed that caused the room and house to blur around her before they stopped in a bathroom. Lucien locked the door as if attempting to keep someone out.
