Chapter 104
When Dean raised his head, the kingfisher had gone, leaving the branch bobbing. Without hesitation, Dean took the slope to a level at the right. From there he walked along, breaking out onto a path with steps leading both up and down. He took them two at a time heading up, slowing as he drew closer to the source of the noise.
“So what’s your take on love?” A woman’s voice rang out.
“Love is for suckerrrrrrrrrrrs.” The response sounded young and male.
“Cocks are for suckers,” another male voice said.
Dean blinked, lips twitching with amusement. If there were a way around the group he’d take it, but chances were he would have to pass right through them. Their voices came from behind a walled area a little way above. Until then he’d forgotten there were other guests at the manor.
“Typical bloke. It’s all about a man’s genitals.”
The voices, if not the conversation, made Dean think of a public school education.
“Let’s ignore a woman’s needs.” Sounded like the first woman again.
