68 Chapter 23: A Night of Chaos [part 2].

AFO smiled as he sent a burst of spiraling shockwaves at Yuki, forcing him to intercept it in order to protect the guards who were in the midst of the evacuation of the mansion workers. A luminous shield cushioned the shockwaves and dissipated them and then broke into dozens of motes of light that morphed into small arrows as they started spinning.

"This is your only chance to surrender Shigaraki, stop this futile struggle, and lay down your arms. The minions that you forced or coerced into doing your biddings no longer support you, and that last of what you had, you have brought here and they have been neutralized and captivated."

"The 'nomus' on the other hand are being dealt with by the security officers as we speak. Reinforcements are inbound from THE GUARD and the Special Forces, your reign of terror is over and you should just simply roll over and accept your fate." Yuuki kept AFO busy as the security officers escorted the workers to safety.

Yuki materialized a blade of light as he charged right at the floating figure of AFO, who formed a hideous looking pike from his hand and intercepted Yuki, but he was no match for Yuki when it came to swords, who had spent years in the Demon Slayer world, perfecting his sword art.

Yuki parried AFO's pike and stabbed him in his lower abdomen and slashed his blade outwards, making a grievous wound on AFO, who was recovering at a visible pace. But his face no longer had that sickening smile, instead, there was a hideous scowl.

AFO dropped any semblance of holding back and started using a myriad of quirks and some in devastating combinations that caused wanton destruction with him as the epicenter.

Yuki could barely form a spherical shield before himself to resist the raging bouts of destruction that had no intentions of ceasing.

The amount of power Yuki had to use was straining his already fragile body further towards its destruction, Yuki went on the offensive at every little chance he got but the regeneration factor of OFA dwarfed the amount of damage that Yuki could do.

Without a doubt, this is the strongest foe Yuki has ever faced, and being in worlds that were easy to complete quests in, this was a cut above the two he has faced, he did not stop, nor did he relent, despite knowing very well that with every passing minute his body is deteriorating and Avalon could only do so much before the divinity corrodes his mortal form.

Just when the evacuation was about to end, OFA sent a powerful surge towards the ones who were about to leave the mansion to the safe grounds or the bunkers, while aiming another right at the security members who were in a skirmish against the nomu.

He formed a barrier around the security members while taking the blow aimed at the evacuating mansion workers with his wings shielding his body. The blast sent him flying as he broke through the walls of the mansion while AFO just smiled.

He smiled at the bloodied form of Yuki that walked out of the debris, "This is the problem with good people like you, you never rationalize enough, you never take the easy way out, you choose to protect the weak even at the cost of your own self. You never understand that a necessary sacrifice of a few can bring salvation to an even greater number. You don't even dare use your quirk freely because there is a chance that innocents might get caught up in our fray."

"Tell me, how does it feel to know that your death will make all of your prior efforts vanish like smoke, the desperate desire you have to make this world a better place, tell me, young hero, how does it feel to know that the ones whom you wish to give a better future face unending despair, for the people you know to bear the stigma of being associated with you. For your family to face public executions, for the women you love to be shamed and paraded."

"Tell me, young hero, how does it feel to know that you will serve as a symbol, a symbol showing others what happens to those who defy me? Tell me…" OFA spoke in a mirthless voice that had great expectations, to be answered, to see the despair on the face of one of humanity's last two pillars.

"I am elated." Came a young voice answering the symbol of fear.

"But, let me tell you that you will never succeed. All Might is here on his way and even if we fail to overpower you, I can be sure to say that the path of mutual destruction is always open for me. I don't fear death, but I guess that's not the case for you. So, why don't you just surrender, sparing us both the need to die an explosive death." Yuki said as the wounds on his body recovered at a visible pace.

"So, what will it be?" Yuki smirked, as he tried to talk his way out of this mess.

"You speak quite the deal for someone who does not even dare to use their quirk to its full potential in fear of harming a few insects. You won't even be able to touch me, let alone defeat or rather do a 'mutual destruction' as you termed it." AFO taunted back.

"Nah, you are going to be thankful that I touched you, just be a good man and live an honest life. You will find it more rewarding than doing all this shady business and besides, the world is facing a new dawn, just turn over a new leaf Shigaraki. There is no soul beyond redemption, even yours, just face the light and …"

"IT'S GOING TO BE ALRIGHT NOW, FOR I AM HERE !!!!!"

And the next thing we all saw was a gallant figure of All Might smashing his fist into AFO's face with extreme prejudice.

Then the round two, bashing of fists and pikes to malformed blunt arms made of God knows what material with Yuki shielding All Might and containing whatever damage he could while attacking at every opening he found.

The devastation was minimalized by Yuki's barriers as the fight dragged on and the now high-ranking officers of Special Forces or the ex-top pro heroes came into assistance with the reinforcements from THE GUARD.

The League of Villains was neutralized along with the nomus and Gigantomachia, Endeavour got into the fight against AFO along with Eraser Head, with the two supporting Yuki and All Might the fight came to an end after a long hour when AFO's cells could no longer cope with the rapid degeneration and regeneration.

The cells turned cancerous and mutated, poisoning him from within, and after a while, he was forced to kneel when his muscles and organs failed to respond to his will or neural impulses.

Yuki came down and his wings and halo dispersed. He slowly walked towards AFO under the eyes of the whole world that was watching the disaster happen on live television.

He placed a hand on AFO's head and his quirk was absorbed into the crystal ball that God gave him. Now finally when his nerves relaxed after the whole ordeal, he fainted. But his body refused to fall, as his figure stood there like a statue for others to admire.

Aizawa, who saw that Yuki was no longer moving, went next to him to see what made his tired-looking eyes open wide in shock.

"The brat fainted on his feet, seriously, what a character," Aizawa muttered as he supported Yuki on his shoulder and walked away from the debris.

The officers from Special Forces rushed in to secure AFO and provide immediate medical help to the injured. All Might who was there when AFO was brought restrained, was shocked by the sight he beheld. There was no sign of the grievous wounds and burns that AFO failed to heal from because of his cellular overload.

There was no sign of any of that, even the disfigured face returned back to its normalcy, his body was no older than a man in his early thirties. He looked at AFO and sighed knowing not what to feel about this man anymore, he knew that Yuki touching him after the battle was not to spite his vanquished foe, but an act of mercy for someone who had lost everything he had built.
