Demon's Camp III

Snow kept on walking, trying to blow it off as if it was nothing. The others watching weren't phased by the interaction and ignored them as they went back to their own business.

Beating the demon had kept the weaker monsters at bay, which she was very grateful for. But, unfortunately, the closer they got to the tent, the pressure of demonic energy increased.

Snow leads the way. The closer they got, the eyes cast upon them became more apparent.

Snow couldn't show any hint of weakness. On the contrary, her mind hardened and focused, paying attention to everything around her. If one or a couple stronger demons stepped forward, she would deal with them quickly and effectively.

Each monster, testing their strength against Snow, tries to put her in place.

The ground shivered with delight every time she crashed the demon face-first into the ground. And each win, more and more demons stepped back for fear of her growing power. Lower-level demons even went as far as to scatter further away and hid in the shadows as they watched.

Oddly enough, the four generals weren't touched. It was as if the whole demon race could sense that she was more powerful than the generals.

They were finally able to get as close to the tent as possible.

This time, they were stopped by two rough-looking demons that towered over them. Their muscles were thick and bulky, making them look like a steroid bodybuilder that was on drugs. They couldn't even fold their arms to their side because of how thick their muscles were.

Grey lifelessly skin-colored their whole body, red eyes with black outlines stared back with ferocity. They were adorned with the best armor, glistening like an obsidian stone with red flaming designs that mirrored one another. Tufts of red feathers appeared out of their shoulders and cuffs. Crocodile snouts with sharp white teeth were present, opening and closing as the demon spoke. Long-tails swooshed back and forth in irritation at Snow's arrival.

"Stop." the first one spoke, barring them with a spear.

"I would like to speak with the one in charge." Snow spoke with arrogance.

"Why should we let a commoner like you enter?" The guard laughed at Snow's attire.

Snow snorted, glaring at the monster. "What does it matter to you?"

The two guards went silent.

"A small fry like you should stay in its place." The guard spat next to her, cackling at her weak appearance.

Snow's fist flew first, smashing into the guard's snout.

The guard flew back, right into the tent.

"Now, do you think I'm weak?" Snow cracked her neck and fingers. She went straight to the second demon who was on guard.

They both got entangled in a fierce fight. Snow moved quickly, cutting into the demon's skin with one fluid stroke. Black blood was spilled on the ground, the demon twirled around in a growl. His spear danced in the air, trying to decapitate Snow's head.

Snow moved out of harm's way. She knew that she would expose herself if she dragged on this fight, and she didn't want that.

With a flick of her wrist, Snow was able to cut a few more open targets, and with an aggressive forward kick, she threw him onto the ground.

The demon got up in a roar.

Powerful magic started to spiral out of control, causing a wave of magic to spike around them.

Even Snow was hit with the full blast of magic, making her increase her own magic just to nullify it and not get swamped entirely from the demon's power.

"Enough!" A deep voice shouted with pure anger.

Both Snow and the demon went silent, realizing that the voice had a powerful, commanding air.

An elegant demon stepped outward, wearing a black and white suit. His red and gold eyes, swirling with jets of black, started out with annoyance. His horn was jutted forward and up, looking like a majestic crown. His height was the size of an adult male, while his long black tail jutted out from his back.

"Demon King Daemon." The demon quickly got onto their knees, showing him the utmost respect.

His name rang a clear bell in Snow's mind. She remembered the memory of the Demon King from their last dungeon exploration. To see him here in front of her made her question his invasion of the outside world. Her world.

King Daemon strolled out, his hand behind his back. He took a moment to look at the demon and Snow. His eyes rested on Snow for a moment, observing her every action.

Even the other demons that brought the Black Box came out, wondering what was going on.

"You are?" King Daemon asked.

"My name is Flora." Snow threw up a random name that popped into her mind. She didn't want to tell King Daemon who she was.

"Flora. What have you come here for?"

"To ki-...serve you." Snow slowly started. The words didn't quite come out of her lips the way she wanted.

"You? What demon are you?" King Daemon took a step forward, slowly circling her.

"I am no demon."

"Oh?" King Daemon leaned over, touching her white hair and taking a sniff at it. "You smell of a dragon and a human."

Snow didn't refute and answered him in silence.

"Why would a halfling come here?"

"For revenge."

"Revenge, you say…." King Daemon stopped.

"Yes. My father and mother were killed by a human."

"But, you are halfling. Do you not side with the humans?"

"No," Snow snapped back.

King Daemon chuckled, enjoying Snow's answer, but then his voice became more profound. His eyes glazed over. "You're lying."

Snow froze.

"I can smell it in the air."

The other demons around her started to growl deeply, walking, tightening up her escape. Even the four generals surrounded her, bringing up their weapons to get ready for a fight of their lives.

Snow barked out laughing, startling everyone by her sudden laughter. They lowered their guard, wondering what she was laughing at.

Eventually, Snow stopped, wiping away her tears.

"What is so funny?" King Daemon asked. He was baffled by her outburst that he wasn't sure what to do.

"Everything." Snow replied, smiling.

Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw Dairen sneak into the tent and come back out. He disappeared into the crowd, taking one quick glance at Snow. Their eyes met, understanding one another.

A surge of power welled up inside Snow. She knew that she didn't have much time. From the rate that everything was falling apart, she would either be killed here or taken captive. She didn't want either.

"Well, King Daemon." Snow stood up straighter. The clothes she was wearing started to burn from the blue fire that she had conjured up, revealing the white and gold armor she usually wore.

A bright figure of exponential holy energy escaped her body, blinding everyone the moment they made eye contact on her figure. The monsters cowered, overwhelmed by the pain, and quickly pulled back.

The only ones who could withstand a powerful light were King Daemon and the four generals that she personally protected so they wouldn't get affected.

Summoning up White Gryphon from the Black Box series, she lunged.

King Daemon waved unconsciously and put his hands up, which Snow was able to cut off his right hand with one fluid motion. With a screech, he stumbled backward, holding his hand in pain. He couldn't move forward as the light blinded him, making it difficult for him to find her.

"Quickly, we need to get out of here!" Snow yelled at the four generals, who burst into action.

In seconds, it became a slaughter-fest.

Hundreds to eventually thousands of swords of lights appeared before Snow, each slicing, stabbing, or even piercing a demon that got in their way.

"Holy Redemption!" Snow yelled, buffing up all four generals and herself. The speed and power of all five of them became a force to reckon with.

From the left, the Tortoise general always kept a barrier around the four generals and Snow herself, while the Tiger general slashed through mobs of monsters with its claws, taking out monsters in close-quarter combat.

The dragon general blew out fierce flames of dark flames that would devour their enemies as they shrieked in pain or death. While the phoenix general constantly healed each one of them when needed, flying overhead as it spat out fireballs of magic.

"Division of the Sun!"

Small sunlike energy balls circle around Snow. It floated toward the middle of a heavily invested monster infestation. It shook a blast of a beam of light, shooting out from all directions, causing damage. The light energy ball flickered and erupted like a bomb, washing away the rest of the monsters that didn't die.

Anybody who caught sight of this ridiculous power inside the demon army would have been dumbstruck by the sheer power of what Snow and the four generals had caused in the short amount of time that they had.

Snow and the generals were able to break away from the main demon army.

A roar of pure anger roared throughout the camp, causing the area to crumble by the waves of dark energy.
