BAB 1 Lucky or Not

It was his lucky day, the school sucks ended quickly, and on his way home, he found 1 enc. 1 enc = 10 dur, and 2 dur can buy a loaf of bread, of course the 1 enc he finds is not to buy bread. But he was wrong, his luck was too good, instead of getting a rare idol card, he won the grand prize on a holiday on a Moon island.

So here he is, sitting on a tour bus with other tourists. Listening tiredly the tour guide tells about the history of the island and the flora and fauna that are characteristic of the island.

He regretted this holiday.

When he came home, he was so proud of winning the lottery and showing it off to the entire orphanage. The sisters congratulated him, and the other children looked at him with envy. He was so happy and very smug.

But now he regretted it. If he gave this gift to one of his friends then he would not have to sit for hours on this bus without air conditioning. There's no need to feel suffocated and nauseous from smelling the unpleasant scent of the fat woman sitting next to him. And trapped on this hot and humid island.

When he first arrived on the island, he saw blue beaches and luxury hotels and wealthy tourists sunbathing on the beach. His feelings were very happy, but the vehicle that took him to the hotel kept passing and away from this beautiful place. Seeing that he asked the driver. The driver laughed at him and said

The boy realized his folly and fell silent. The car continued to drive, entering a deserted street, finally the car stopped at an old building with a sign that read 'Welcome to Wilbur hotel'. The sign looked very worn, with peeling paint and rotting wood, the boy was afraid it would fall on him.

The situation inside the hotel is not much different from the outside. And the smell of old buildings made the boy want to leave the hotel immediately. But it was getting dark and he had to stay there. In addition, his savings were not enough to buy a direct return ticket, so he had to be patient until the return date in the ticket accommodated by the Lottery ended.

The hotel has 3 floors, the first floor has a dining room and lobby, the second and third floors each have 5 rooms on the floor which are guest rooms. Behind the hotel there is a building which is the hotel owner's house and kitchen. There are also only a few hotel employees, including the hotel owner's couple, there are only 4 people.

According to bellboy, because of the holiday season, now the hotel is busy, and only 1 vacant room is available. The bellboy also told him the strangeness of the hotel visitor. One of them is two men, one very tall and one as tall as a child, always book the same room every year and never leave the room until check out time. In addition, there is also a fat woman who has a very smelly body odor that the dog behind the hotel does not dare to approach the hotel when the woman is staying. Then the bellboy passionately told a story about a beautiful girl who always came to the island every year to teach at the village hall and stayed at the hotel for two weeks. The bellboy told how beautiful and elegant the girl was with various parables until they arrived at the boy's room.

"Well Mr Howard this is your room, and here is the key. If you need anything you can use the telephone provided to call the hotel staff. For breakfast there is a buffet in the dining room. And you can use the equipment provided by the hotel such as towels and combs but don't forget to leave them back in their place when you check out. Good night and have a good rest. And Mr Howard it was a pleasure to talk to you."

Even though it didn't live up to his expectations, the first-time vacation experience was still thrilling for him. The feeling lulled him and took him to dreamland.

The next day, still excited, the boy got up and went downstairs for breakfast. When entering the dining room the boy can see the visitors to the hotel. Through the bellboy's description yesterday, the boy recognized a fat and smelly woman, a beautiful and elegant teaching girl, a family consisting of a mother and father and two children, an old man with thick glasses, and a fat man with a narrow face. After taking his food, the boy ate quietly while paying attention to his surroundings. The dining room was quiet, apart from the clinking of plates, the only sound was the sound of the brothers and the mother's conversation with the girl. This made the enthusiasm he had when he woke up faded, He decided to finish his food quickly and returned to his room.

When he returned to his room, he ran into the owner of the hotel. The owner of the hotel is a cheerful man with a thick mustache. The hotel owner who saw him immediately called him and told him that soon the tour, which was a package with the Lottery prize was leaving, the boy was asked to get ready.

The plan to just stay in the room failed. Tempted by a day outside the hotel, the boy immediately got ready.

But shortly after the tour started he began to regret it. Aside from getting a seat next to a stinky fat woman in the middle of a hot bus, what happened next made him question whether this vacation was luck or not?
