And There Was Light

A soul is reincarnated as a deity with unlimited power. Follow it's journey as it creates world, adds life, and watch them grow. Note: All chapters are free because they have bad grammar and horrible writing. I'm a first-time writer, so don't expect LOTR-level dialogue, plot, and writing. Also very few originality. MC comes from Earth after all. And yes, it's somewhat of a self-insert for me. Schedule is all over the place. For the RoyalRoad people I've posted this on RoyalRoad.

Chapter 2: New Gods and Realms

I decided to start by creating gods to manage their respective domains. I was a true God, yes but I couldn't do EVERYTHING. I considered just adding a belief system where the more people that believe in you, the stronger you become, but then I realize it would be absolute chaos with two Gods of Evil fighting each other, committing war crimes NEVER conceived by even the most deranged of minds.

So after a little bit of thinking and brainstorming with Amica, I decided to keep the belief system but create a race to deal with a problem if it got too slightly out of hand. But for now, I would create some 'main' gods that would manage everyone else's pantheons.

The first god, named Florence ("Nobody from Earth to tell me I stole the name."), would be the Goddess of Magic and Sorcery.

The second god, named Constantine, would be the God of War and Strength.

The third god, named Ria, would be the Goddess of Life, Nature and Prosperity.

The fourth god, named Appalachia, would be the Goddess of Hope and Progress.

The fifth god, named Mauritius ("It sounds cool, OK?"), would be the God of the Oceans, Seas, Water and Natural Disasters.

The sixth god, named Gehenna, would be the Goddess of the Underworld and Death.

The seventh god, named Solus, would be the God of the Sun and Healing.

The eighth god, Lunaria, would be the Goddess of the Moon and the night sky.

The ninth god, Amoura, would be the Goddess of Love, Beauty, and Lust.

The tenth god, Beatrice, would be the Goddess of farming, agriculture, and fertility.

The eleventh god, Einstein, would be the God of Knowledge and Wisdom.

The twelfth and final god, Ragnar, would be the God of the Forge, Fire, and Technology.

He made sure that all of the gods' personality would include 'loyal' to him and him only. As for everything else, he would let Amica decide and fine tune. Speaking of Amica...

"I have told you for the last time, that I will NOT make you a goddess. You are just my companion after all." Amica had been pestering him to make her a goddess the entire time he was designing the gods.

"Aww, please Alan. Just give me Einstein or some lesser god. I promise I won't do anything stupi-"

Amica's pleading was immediately cut off as Alan gave his capitulation agreement. "FINE, you can be the leader of the angels I mentioned earlier. But no more." It looked like she agreed with the terms, as she stopped whining every chance she could get.

After everything was done, he decided to continue by adding some new realms. First, there had to be an underworld for Gehenna to rule and another realm above for the angels to live.

He was very familiar with Dante's concept of hell. It was nice and cool, but it didn't make much sense. So he decided to incorporate both heaven and hell into one, like the Underworld in Greek mythology.

The good souls would live in the upper levels, known as the Fields of Elysia. The best souls would live in the main city, which was essentially a futuristic cyberpunk city.

As for the bad souls, they would live in the lower levels, known as the Inferno Wastelands. There, they had no peace, no comfort, and no hope. It was only when their time (decided by the Court of Heaven) was up that they would be able to jump into the Pool of Reincarnation and start anew, albeit in a less fortunate soul, and vice versa for the good souls.

As for the worst of the worst (Austrian painter and Stalin for example), those who had no hope of being saved nor changed. They would be tortured for eternity and had to live in terrible conditions.

All souls were sorted and judged by the Court of Heaven, a system that worked a lot like the American court system, but the lawyers are replaced with the person who they loved and hated the most, everyone else being angels and the jury being those souls with a balance of evil and good.

So while Amica was constructing the city (called New Eden) and setting up everything, Alan would create the angels and their home, the Aether.

Angels were almost the exact same as Amica's avatar and personality, just more righteous and just. There would be 10000 angels to start with, but all other angels came from the noblest of people and the purest of souls.

The Aether was a realm consisting of several floating islands in "The Sky", which was infinite in all directions. He would imagine that the Aether would closely resemble New Eden, but since he wasn't an architect, he would let her design the city, it's name being Eden.

He spread the islands out and created a massive central island, which was the home of the governing body, the Angelica and many military bases. Their military technology would be... all over the place to say the least.

Yes, he sent a message to Amica to design the most advanced tanks and planes ever conceived, but there also had to be a normal, medieval military to not give the races, most specifically the humans ideas.

He summoned the angels and let now returning Amica ("Why do I have to do everything?") sort everything out.

"Oh, and also create some bases of operations for the gods here too. Base it on their domain too. Like Ragnar would have a giant volcano with a forge in the middle while Ria would have lush ecosystem with diverse fauna and flora. Thanks!" And a pouting face was the last thing he saw before teleporting back to the overworld.

Can someone recommend personalities and appearances for the gods? Would be greatly appreciated.
