A red brick flashed into his mind, and he frowned. Maybe he was finally losing his marbles.

Sebastian sighed wearily and subconsciously held out a finger. The wolf pup sniffed at the air, stepping out slowly, gazing at the finger with interest but fear.

He jerked his finger back. What was he doing?! He hadn't just lost his marbles, he had lost his brains, too!

"Lord have mercy. How did you get here, anyway?" Sebastian asked the wolf, who had hidden again in the haybale. Only its shining golden eyes could be seen.

Those eyes matched the color of Jylan's, Sebastian realized. But then he realized where he was going again and shook the thought off. Lei

"Aren't you worried I'll step on you or something?" the prince continued. "Oh, wait. You're in a haybale. Of course, you are."

Suddenly, a loud knock sounded from below him.

"Do you have a habit of talking to yourself, my prince?!" Jylan yelled from below.

Sebastian sighed, muttering an apology.

He heard Jylan chuckle.

His cheeks heated up. What's there to laugh about, huh?! He looked back toward the wolf instead of replying, more focused on becoming friends with something so that he could forget about his pitiful attempt with Jylan.

"So," Sebastian whispered to the wolf, careful not to disturb the butler again. "Where are your parents?"

Again, the red brick flashed through his mind.

The wolf didn't respond, instead looking past Sebastian toward the wardrobe. Sebastion also looked there. He stared as the light coming in from the room seemed to glow on the wardrobe, the gold glinting and the gems reflecting the light onto all the walls. It was like a wonderful starry universe.

"You want to see what's inside it, too?" Sebastian asked the wolf. "Well, it isn't that interesting. Just some random Valentine's Jiffs that have numbers on them for some reason."

The wolf pup didn't seem to understand what he had said, for just then its shining eyes vanished. Sebastian perked an eyebrow in concern, but before he could do anything, the pup burst out of the haybale and galloped defiantly toward the wardrobe. It opened its mighty mouth and –

Slammed headfirst into the wardrobe, failing at its conquest. It twirled around, dizzy eyes staring up at the roof. Then, it lost its balance and quirkily fell to the floor, conked out.

"What's going on up there?!" Jylan called. "I can't sleep at all, my prince!"

"It's –" Sebastian groaned. Ha ha ha, even in his head, what he was about to say sounded ridiculous. "There's a little wolf up here! And it just tried to bust into your wardrobe…"

"Humor is most definitely not your strong suit," Jylan commented.

"I'M GOING TO CHOKE YOU IF YOU DON'T COME UP HERE!" Sebastian groaned.
