Anathema - The Curse

In the sea again, naturally.

I push myself up towards the surface again and climb on the wing. Deva, this is tiring.

The others were not very down the surface and are now climbing on the wing again.

"This is getting tiring." Anya says. My girl and I are of the same mind.

"We need to get to land. Any land." Gregor grunts out. His words make everyone aim a glare at him.

"Oh really! The great Gregor Sokolov has found an idea. Pray tell where there is land around here." Grace snaps.

Everyone chuckles at her words except for Noah. This attitude is so Grace. She tends to have a short tether of patience with everyone and everything. But the lack of any kind of response from Noah is very concerning.

I look towards Noah only to find him scrambling for something in his backpack.

"What are you doing, Noah?" I ask him.

"You guys might not believe this, but I think I saw something in that direction. I just need- got it!" Noah exclaims.

Noah peers out through his binoculars while everyone has their attention fixed on him. When he turns around, he has a grin on his face which turns into a flinch when he sees that everyone's gazes are fixated on him. Noah never likes to be the centre of attention.

"What?" He interrogates us.

I just raise my eyebrow while Luca says, "Now that the professor has collected apparatus, experimented and observed, I'd like for him to give us a conclusion."

Everyone laughs wholeheartedly at that while Noah glares at Luca. I love this. Even though we are soaked to the bone, out in the middle of nowhere, with less chances of survival, we are still living in the moment and enjoying ourselves.

Nothing can defeat us against our will.

"Luca, you-" Noah starts.

But I cut him off saying, "Luca, stop teasing him. This is serious. Noah, tell us about what you saw."

"But it's so fun." Luca shoots back.

"Shut it, Luca." Grace says, slapping his arm.

"It looks like there is some sort of land in that direction and it's not too far from here." Noah states.

"Is there a civilization?" Anya asks.

"I don't know. All I could see was flora." Noah replies.

"What if there is no civilization? What if it's a forest island full of predators who will tear us into pieces and crunch on us like we are chips." Graces says in a scared voice

"Ewww." Anya says and scrunches up her face.

"Stop being a scared cat, Grace." Luca says in a teasing voice.

But before Grace could retaliate back, Gregor steps in.

"Luca, stop your teasing or I'll smash your teeth out. Grace, look I'm not good at consoling but we are out in the middle of nowhere and if we remain here like this, we will die. We need to be on land to survive." Gregor says.

"As long as we are together, Grace, we will survive and get home." Anya says and embraces Grace in a tight, loving hold.

Yeah, as long as we are together, we will survive and get back home.

Home sweet home.
