25. The War (1)

Dave was shocked to see an existence that was revered by his clan and many vampires, the existence that was considered to be among the powerhouses, the existence that participated in the war 500 years ago kneeling in front of a youngster and calling him master.

When Dave came out of his trance he noticed that Ast had ordered him to go back to his tribe and help them.

"Master if I may then let this boy be accompanied by my two bats, this way when he reaches your tribe we can directly teleport using my bats," said Viktor while still kneeling on the ground.

Ast went ahead with Viktor's arrangement.

"Before anything else, I would like you to answer some questions, and concisely explain who exactly are you. how many soul restrictions are on you if any? and what is my image in your head?" asked Ast

"Master my name is Viktor I am a 2000 years old vampire, I was a part of the vampire faction that took part in war 500 years ago but after the successful conclusion of the war, I was betrayed and thus spend the past 500 years in hiding, trying to heal my wounds.

Master, you guessed right earlier in my life I had to sign many soul contracts but the power that you used on me earlier not only freed me of all soul restrictions, it kind of added something to my very soul. Due to this in my head, you are an existence like a god and my life's only purpose is to serve you to the best of my abilities. My loyalties are only towards you and I would rather die than to even think about disappointing you " said Viktor with a gaze full of worship.

'Looks like this skill is really powerful' thought Ast. Then he noticed that the skill had been greyed out on his panel and he couldn't access it anymore.

"Viktor to serve me to the best of your abilities you should know about me. So firstly.."

before Ast could finish his sentence Viktor interrupted him. "Master sorry for overstepping but I know about your whole life and all events that have taken place in your life up until now. That mysterious skill 'Absolute Servitude' that you used showed me your life in detail, so I could assist you better"

Ast was truly shocked learning about this, for a moment he didn't know how to proceed. But then he remembered something and asked "Tell me about this war, that you mentioned"

"The war that took 500 years ago was a result of accumulated mistrust and anger among the various factions, directed towards the mighty 'Dragons'.

As you know 1000 years ago there was an incident which changed the course of fate for many races, it was the arrival of the Universal system. Nobody knew its origins or the reason for its existence. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that even today what we know about this system is next to nothing.

As I was saying with the arrival of the Universal system things started to change. It wasn't that before its arrival there was no superpower of people with abilities but after the advent of the Universal system, many who didn't even dream of having strong powers or many who were shackled by the upper limits of their race started growing in power. Humans were a prime example of this.

But after the arrival of the Universal system, a peculiar thing started happening. Many people were abducted and turned into slaves, and many clans and tribes faced similar fates.

The race forefront of all this was the Dragon race. Take the example of humans, they were considered a weak race and usually resided in desolate corners of the universe and no other race was even interested in them. But after gaining abilities humans started venturing into the cosmos and in turn, also gave away the location of their planets.

Dragons became interested in such races and started turning them into their slaves they hurried as they do not want a powerhouse to emerge among the humans.

And it was not just limited to Dragons, many other organisations and races were also doing the same thing but they were doing it in hiding and the dragons were upfront about it even arrogant to a certain extent claiming it to be the good luck of humans or other races that got a chance to serve the mighty dragons.

Many races banded together to end the tyranny of the Dragons and others saw it as an opportunity to loot and plunder and thus began the chaotic war"
