FATED Two souls, one choice

“Run! Sanaya Run! Just Run!” And that’s what I did, for the past 14 years of my life I ran, ran and ran and not once did I look back, not once did I stop, not once did I wait and ask why I was asked to run, I had been running since I was eight, now I’m twenty-one, many times during the past years, I wondered why I’m running, I thought of stopping once and asking the question out loud, but now whenever I stare at the four walls of the cell I was put in, I regret it, I regret stopping, I regret looking back, I regret helping her. /EIGHT MONTHS EARLIER/ My chest heaved up and down as my breathing became rapid and unsteady due to the adrenaline rushing through my whole body as my heart thumped loudly in my rib cage and it felt as if any second from now my lungs would burst, I’ve been running for the past 15minutes now, I need to stop and take a break to catch my breath but I can’t stop, since I was seven, I was told never to stop running, deciding my human legs are too weak to carry on moving, I shifted, not caring about my clothes as I transformed into my wolf, my speed increased and I found myself going round trees and dodging fallen branches as I ran in no particular direction and that’s when I heard it, A heart wrenching, glass shattering scream and without a second thought my paws dug into the ground as I halted, breaking the first rule of my mom /Never stop running/ As if my stupid self wasn’t contented with that, I turned around, breaking the second rule /Never look back/ My eyes searched the area as my ears listened and I heard it again, a scream of agony shot through the forest, shattering the deadly silence it once had, As if on autopilot, my legs started running towards the direction of the scream, as I got closer, my nose was filled with smell of blood. Human blood. Running faster the screams got louder and when I reached, my heart tightened at the sight of the scene in front of me, a girl lied helplessly on the ground completely naked as two guys tried to force themselves on her, her hands were being held tightly by one of the guys and the other one was in the middle of unbuckling his belt when a low growl escaped my mouth and all attention fell on me. “Get out of here you dog” one of the guys yelled as he threw a stick at me, My wolf was small compared to the size of normal wolves and with the light brown colour of my fur, I could easily be mistaken for a dog, but no matter my size, I was still a natural born killer, Without a wasting a second, I pounced on him, my fangs bit into his neck as my claws dug into his skin, a pain filled scream erupted from him as I continued my assault on him, in a second he was dead, from the corner of my eye, I caught the other one trying to escape but I was far faster and stronger I attacked him, killing him in an instant, their blood dripped from my mouth onto the ground as I turned away from the girl who was about to faint, deciding I’ve helped her enough, I ran back in the direction I came. I was in the middle of taking a left turn when something harshly crashed into my side with so much force it sent me flying and my body made contact with a tree, I crashed to the ground letting out a whimper as struggled to stay conscious, two huge black wolves came into view and at that moment I knew I made a mistake when I stopped to help the girl, I knew I made a mistake when I looked back and now, I knew I was about to be taken and because I stopped running, because I looked back,I lost my freedom.
