Ch 17: Wrong time to be asked out
Lisa's heart calmed down by the time she reached the school entrance.
The further she distanced herself from what was happening inside the school, the better Lisa felt. She felt grounded when she stepped outside the school.
Lisa's feelings lasted only one minute before someone yanked her.
The female yanking Lisa behind her had an iron-like grip. She was young and beautiful but also had a sharp air around her.
"Hey! What are you doing? Let go of me! Do you want me to call the cops on you?"
Lisa threatened her would-be kidnapper, but the female only hummed in response.
Her carefree actions gave Lisa hope of becoming accessible again. And just when Lisa gave up trying to tug herself free, her would-be kidnapper let her go.
She had been dragged in the middle of who knows where, but the older female dragging Lisa did not seem to care.
Lisa was finally let go once she reached the park, but she did not drop her guard even then.
"You! I've heard rumors about your curse. I need you to go out with me to get the boss to date me. So, where do you want to do first?"
The impatient female asked Lisa while tapping her feet.
With a hoodie covering her face, Lisa's kidnapper looked intimidating. She was also tall and a slight buff, and how she held herself reminded Lisa of a bodyguard.
The female's imposing posture was the first thing Lisa noted, followed by her words.
"You…want to date me…because of the rumors about my curse? Aren't you too old to believe in things like that?"
Lisa asked in a hesitant voice. Even though she asked this question, Lisa maintained just enough formality in her voice to not come across as rude.
However, the older female did not consider Lisa's thoughtful gesture necessary!
"Curse! Superstition! It doesn't matter to me. As long as I get what I want, I don't care what method I use. And just before you get any ideas! I was not suggesting that we go on a date. Starting now, we are already on a date.
I, for one, will take all I can at my disposal to grab what I want."
Firm words and unwavering eyes were the trademarks of the female standing before Lisa.
Intense eyes glowed when the female looked at Lisa and held her hand.
Those intense eyes reminded Lisa of her mother, and she unconsciously moved toward the extended hand and grabbed it.
Lisa tried to pull back her hand, but it was as if different powers controlled her mind and body.
Before Lisa knew it, she had placed her hand in the outstretched hand of the older female.
There was no smile on the other female's face when she closed her hand around Lisa's and tugged her behind.
"Let's go out and get something to eat first. Then, we can get you some clothes. Don't look so worried! I am not going to eat you. At least, not as long as I need your help."
It did not take long for Lisa to get dragged on one of the most uncomfortable dates of her life.
The food tasted good, but it was impossible to swallow once Lisa saw the prices.
A single dish costs more than Lisa's monthly budget, and that thought made the food lose all flavor.
Somehow, shopping for clothes made the situation even worse.
Lisa was dragged to the branded stores one after another, but nothing seemed to fit her. (Those clothes fit just fine, but the price tag made Lisa feel uncomfortable)
The more Lisa rejected these clothes, the more annoyed her kidnapper looked. She might even snap if Lisa did not make up her mind soon.
So, with that in mind, Lisa decided to get a cap and be done with it. However, even that cap costs the same amount as Lisa's monthly tuition.
'I would have preferred it if I got money instead of these branded clothes and fancy food. Would I get anything if I sold them second-hand? I think this brand fetches a good price on the second-hand market!'
By the end of the day, Lisa had finally relaxed, but she had not let her guard down. She did not want to die because she had let someone else get close to her. Especially someone as dangerous as the person in front of her.
The date ended just as it had started- in the park with the pair standing around awkwardly.
It was disturbing how Lisa had spent a whole day with this female, but she did not even know her name or anything else about her.
The only thing Lisa knew was that the older female looked and felt familiar.
"So we completed our date. Now tell me! When will I meet my soul mate? How long will it take before the boss comes to me and embraces me as his woman?"
The older female grabbed Lisa's shoulder tightly and shook her around. It made the food in Lisa's stomach churn, and her head spun around.
Lisa placed a hand on her mouth to stop the food from coming up. But it did not feel as if she would be successful.
That's why Lisa broke this female's hold on her shoulder and quickly sat down in case she was going to be sick.
Nothing happened to Lisa, but her throat did hurt because of all the heaving she did.
The kidnapper left Lisa alone for only two minutes before her hand tightened on Lisa's shoulder with a tight enough grip to leave a visible mark.
"Hey, I asked you a question, so you had a better answer. Otherwise, your fragile shoulder would pay the price of angering me. Do you think you can get away from me that easily?"
The older female asked in a terrifying voice, and Lisa felt all her energy leaving her body.
"I don't know! I don't know how the curse works and when it works. I just know that anyone who dates me will find their soul mate! I'm sorry I cannot be of any help to you."
