An Eternity With You

In a trembling voice, she asked, "Where are you? Where are you watching me from?" "Relax sweetheart. I am not peeking at you through a window if that's what you're thinking. Are you doing something a lady shouldn't be doing? Care to humor me?" Aurora blushed, understanding what he was insinuating. She didn't like having the wolf in her mind. "I am not doing anything indecent but it is indecent for you to ask that. Are you not a proper man?" "I guess I am an improper man." ..... Growing up Aurora heard a beast would one day hunt her down and try to kill her. But Aurora believed it was just a story told to scare her when she misbehaved until she started to have dreams of a creature chasing after her. “I will come to save you,” the creature promised her in the dreams. Aurora was confused by these words because she believed she needed to be saved from the beast, so why was the beast promising to save her? Soon enough Aurora will discover the life she knew all along had many secrets and it wasn’t the beast who she needed to be scared of. The cover was done by IG r.voh.k

Being watched (1)

Strange things were occurring in her life one after the next but thankfully she had gotten the book to let her know more about wolves. Aurora hurried home as fast as she could because her life being stuck in her room by Minnie depended on it. She followed the same path back home and carefully took her time climbing up the pillar.

When Aurora entered her room it didn't look like anyone had come to check up on her but she couldn't be too sure. She would know in the morning if Minnie comes back to scold her.

The first thing she did was change her clothes just in case Minnie would later come to visit. After she changed into her night garments, Aurora double-checked the bedroom door was locked before sitting on the bed with the book she brought from the witches.

"Please tell me something important about the wolf," She mumbled, flipping through the pages and seeing other creatures but she wasn't interested in those ones right now. Only the man who was speaking in her mind. "The alpha," she said reading the title.

Aurora was curious to know who had gathered this information on the wolf. Was it the witches themselves or someone else? She checked the front and back of the book for a name but found nothing. The way the book was written looked more like a diary.

"The alpha is at the top of the rankings in werewolf society. He appears to be like a king ruling over the others and is the only person I knew who could change into something of a beast under the full moon. Werewolves tend to have blue eyes under the moon but the alpha showed golden eyes and on a rare occasion red eyes. The villagers got together in groups to kill him because they've never seen a beast like him. A creature straight from a nightmare standing on two legs like a man. One of the devil's pets who came up to this world," Aurora read softly then flipped the page.

"The wolves worship the Moon Goddess because it was thanks to her they were given strength. I've seen her many times and then one day she disappeared. The wolves may be the only people who knew where she went. Coming into contact with the alpha, I thought death was on my doorstep. He was a cunning man who knew no bounds with the words he spoke. He lurked in the shadows of humans, blending in as one of them."

"I believed the alpha was not one to be tamed until one day he met a- No no no," Aurora repeated when the words were smudged in the book. Why now out of all places? She flipped the page to continue the rest of the words. "Beware the man who smiles the more the moon rises to a full moon. That's it? What the hell tamed the alpha?" She questioned going to the next page but it was just information about regular werewolves and not the alpha.

Someone had torn out a page out of the book for some reason. Aurora wondered who was the person who wrote the book and if they had another one with more information. They must've been a special person to study these creatures.

Aurora continued to look through the book in case the topic of the alpha came up again. It was mind-blowing to see the many creatures the kings have claimed to drive out of the kingdom. Creatures you would only expect to see in nightmares. Creatures that people of this generation thought to be a myth because they had never seen one.

Creatures were mentioned in history because of the past kings saving their people from these same creatures. The stories of how the kings saved their people were told in schools to children and were written up in scrolls. These days you could only speak of creatures when mentioning the good things the king did for you. King Darius did not like when people spoke of creatures with curiosity or interest. This was why Aurora was scared of what would happen to her if anyone found out she came into contact with a werewolf.

Would she be burnt like the chants in her head said? What would happen to her family for being associated with her? She was already so strange-looking that people would believe something was wrong with her in a heartbeat.

"I just want to be normal," Aurora whispered, closing the book and placing it in a secret compartment she had found beside her bed. This was the only place she could hide it for now. Minnie, Rachel, and her father had access to all the rooms in the house, so when Aurora was younger she searched for places to hide the snacks she liked from the kitchen.

The book contained other things which seemed interesting but right now the alpha was her biggest concern. "What on earth does he want from me? I don't feel like I need saving and my family has never hurt me."

"The book said he was cunning, maybe he was lying to me? But still, what makes me so special? Why choose me to lie to or to truly protect? He claimed to not want to kill me now but I still don't believe that."

The book was helpful a little bit. It said to beware the man who smiles the more the moon rises to a full moon. Aurora knew it meant when the moon becomes a full moon, the alpha would reveal itself. The harvest moon festival was almost here where they would attend the festival under a full moon. Aurora had a feeling she would be running into the alpha that very night.

She remembered its golden eyes from what she believed was a dream but it was unfortunate she didn't see his face. Aurora knew she had to figure out who the alpha was before the harvest moon. She couldn't let him catch her off guard and do something to her.

"I don't know if you are listening but I am going to find you first mister alpha and find out the truth. Why do you want to protect me and why is Minnie suddenly acting so strange since you showed up?"
