No matter what the young man does, she only makes noises of distress, fearful of any interaction with another. He decides that he can’t get her out of there in the unwilling state that she is in, and becomes determined towards satisfying his curiosity as to who this girl with wings is, and why she is locking herself up in his wardrobe. Jumping Right Into Things.

"Welcome to the magic academy, the pride and joy of our kingdom."

Hmmm… I don't really hate these entrance ceremonies, since after all, how many times should I expect myself to hate them?

Every single time?

Haha, please, I've been alive for 100 years already, there's no need to have such cliched reactions anymore.

Anyways, there is something I haven't experienced before though, and that's living in a dorm with fellow students.

Huh? You're asking why a 100 year old is going to a magic high school?

Where are you from, Earth?

Well, whatever, here on our planet, it's safe to say that science has ultimately lost its purpose, since now all that exists is the mysteries left behind by our ancestors that we must rediscover instead.

Earth is this ancient legend of a place in the sky that Is spherical compared to our flat plain with an invisible dome around it, and it's believed to be the origin of magic.

Magic is just a tool created by science, however, science has been lost, so although we know how to use these tools, we have no idea how they originated.

One such magic tool is the ability to prevent aging, as well as having complete control over what memories one person can access, making reincarnation obsolete since pressing the amnesia button does pretty much the same job.

However, even though the old me has already erased his memories multiple times throughout these past 100 years, it's safe to say that I feel like a 15 year old, since that's as far back as this very body can remember.

Sometimes I wonder why I always end up choosing to erase my memories, but I guess I'll figure it out again once I feel as though this chapter of my life is over as well.

So, now that I am here as a 15 year old 100 year old, it's fair to say that re-experiencing my youth for the first time again is definitely my highest priority.

However, the idea of the fact that I'm technically a 100 year old, has made me think about my situation in an unconventional way, which is why I see everything as an over done cliche despite not feeling as though I've never experienced it before.

Hmmm… maybe I should stop that if I want to be able to enjoy what's in front of me right now.

Wait, am I speed running character development right now?

Anyways! That's enough mental monologuing, the entrance ceremony appears to be concluding.

"… Thank you all for listening."

——————————————————————————

Everyone goes to their assigned dorm rooms by following the school campus map that was uploaded to our display systems, and I do the same.

"325… 327… room 329!"

I use my key to enter the room, and once inside, I take a deep breath at the hotel-like atmosphere from the space.

I then start looking around at everything bit by bit, excitedly exploring this new room that I will be living in for the next few years.

There is a white bed, a magic tv with console ports, an incredibly shiny white bathroom that has a bathtub in it as well, a small kitchen, and last but not least, the wardrobe.

I then unzip my bag in order to get my Ninjutsu Switch hooked up to the magic tv, since that's a major priority of mine.

Then, after I get the wires all straight and tidy by pressing the auto clean/adjust button attached to the magic power-box, I start getting the clothes out of my suitcase to get ready to put them on the hangers in the wardrobe.

*bump*

'What was that noise?', I think to myself as I turn my head to the wardrobe.

I focus my eyes, and notice the door slightly peaking open before becoming fully sealed shut.

'WTF?', I step away, worried that there might be a monster rat hiding inside.

I then quickly tap my feet together to have my entire body begin to float off the ground, as to not have any body contact with the rat if it chooses to start running out.

I float over towards the door and open it, ready to shoo it out, and then back out and choose to pick up the broomstick that is sitting next to the front door, in order to open the wardrobe's doors from afar.

'Shit shit shit shit!', it's freaking me the hell out, I have no idea just how big the rat may be.

I get ready to whack the wardrobe, and after I muster the courage to do so, I give it a light tap in order to hear any reactions.

*BANG*

In an instant, the doors of the wardrobe get hit open slightly from the inside, but then immediately close automatically.

'… something alive is definitely in there, there's no doubt about it.'

I then quickly use the end of the broom stick to hook onto the left door hands of the wardrobe, and the first thing I see is large blue feathers beginning to flap.

"WHAT IS THAT?!"

It responds to my frantic yell by having its body, obscured by the feathers, move further into the wardrobe in order to hide behind the wardrobe's right door.

I then quickly hit the right door open as fast and loud as I can in order to scare it out, since that's my way of dealing with scary situations.

The louder I scream or the harder I move, the more I feel as though I have a fighting chance; this is something I've picked up after watching horror movies… I can't bare to sit in silence.

"YAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!", I scream at it.

The door flies open and hits the wall behind it, revealing the blue feathers once again.

The blue feathers are beginning to prickle, and are shaking violently.

"OH SHIT!", I yell while floating out of the room with broom in hand.

I don't turn my back to it, but once I make it to the front door near the kitchen area, I see the feathers stretch out as a large wing, and quickly grab each door one at a time and closing them back in on itself, slamming itself in shut.

Some of the fellow students step out of their rooms, into the hallway, to check out the racket.

"What's going on?", they ask me while laughing to one another.

"There's…", I stop myself. I don't want to admit that whatever is in that wardrobe was enough to scare me.

I know it's stupid to have my pride at this point, and even though most others would also be scared in this situation… talking about my problems is not the way I do things.

'I can do this myself.'

Determined, I enter the room, close the door behind me, and open the balcony window instead of the front door, ready to fly out of the dorm room with this winged creature chasing me if I must in order to kick it out of my room.

I then begin my plan of attack once again.

I use the end of the broom stick to open the doors as quickly as I can, and then as the wings begin to react, I then start poking at them while anticipating it to start flapping and chasing me out of the room through the balcony.

"Eeei!", it winces.

I freeze for a moment, 'That sound. Was that a voice? It sounded almost human!'.

"WHAT ARE YOU?", I shout.

"Ei!!", it keeps hitting my broom away while trying to squeeze as much of itself as it can into the corner of the wardrobe.

I decide that the only way to get it to chase me is to pry the wings open and to reveal the body behind it and start poking at that instead, however, I'm extremely scared about just how angry it could get as a result.

I keep fighting it's wings with the broom, but eventually I start seeing glimpses of the body behind the wings.

'HAIR?!', a feathered creature with hair. This thing was really strange.

The next thing I saw, was slender shoulders, 'A PERSON IS IN THERE??! IS IT EATING HER?'.

I then start getting serious, and I no longer care about getting it angry, I'm ready to hurt it if it means saving the person that I assume is a girl, "RAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!".

I start whacking at the wings in the direction that wouldn't end up hurting the girl who is in the middle of the situation.

"Aaaa-aaaahhhh!!!", I hear the girl crying, choking on her tears.

I then pin one of wings with all my might against the left side of the wardrobe, fully revealing the girl.

She's stretching out, crying her eyes out and trying to get the broom off of her wing that I'm damaging.

My heart sinks, "OH SHIT! I'M SO SORRY-".

"WAAAAAAAAA!!!!", she cries in pain.

"I'M SORRY! I DIDN'T KNOW THESE WINGS WERE YOURS!! I THOUGHT THAT A WINGED MONSTER WAS EATING YOU OR SOMETHING!!-"

"WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAEEEEEIIIIII!!!!", after retracting my broom off of her damaged wing, she then tries to close the door using it but is unable to move it without hurting, so she quickly runs out of the wardrobe in order to close its doors using her hands to lock herself inside.

"WAIT! THAT MIGHT BE A SERIOUS INJURY!"

Her muffled cries inside of the wardrobe aren't allowing my words to get through to her.

After dropping the broom I go over to open the doors with my hands, "Let me heal you!-", she fights back for the door and hits my fingers.

"Ow! Wait! YOUR WING IS BROKEN! LET ME HEAL YOU!!"

She keeps crying and hitting me, and the guilt of being the one who broke her right wing with a broom is killing me more than anything has ever done so in my entire life, from what I can remember.

'What is wrong with me! I'm such an idiot!! I WILL NOT JUSTIFY THIS WITH THE EXCUSE THAT IT WAS A MISUNDERSTANDING, THAT DOESN'T CHANGE THE FACT THAT I HURT THIS INNOCENT GIRL!!!

How am I going to fix this…'

I then get the idea to quickly treat her with healing magic and then leave her in the wardrobe since that's what she wants.

It's just hard to heal her while she's hitting me and is hiding her damaged wing like this.

'… looks like I'll have to scare her some more whether I like it or not… seems like the only way to reach that wing is by force…'

"I'm sorry, I really am. I know you won't trust me, and what I'm about to do is going to make you trust me even less, but your health is what matters more than my dignity.", as I say this I fight my way deeper into the wardrobe, leaning over her body as she hits me and cries.

I watch her feel more and more in pain with every movement she takes out of fear, which results in the pinching of nerves in her wing, which makes the pain harder and harder for her to breathe because of the heavy crying.

Finally, I reach the wing, and I quickly cast a healing spell in order to get her suffering to end.

Before she even realises it, her wing is healed, and I quickly leap out of the wardrobe and close the doors on her as she wanted.

She's still crying, even louder than ever, but since I'm no longer 'fighting her', she's trying to move as little as possible out of fear that her nerves will pinch at the slightest touch once again, meaning that she has yet to realise that she's been healed rather than the pain not existing due to precaution.

"…I…", I can't even say anything, the guilt I have makes me feel unworthy of helping her, since my help will only be a burden to her right now.

I don't know what to do, and I just stand there, waiting for her crying to calm down.
