*One year later*
“Where to, sir?”
Erin closes the door to the taxi and leans forward so the driver can hear him. “615 Bluenight road, Bellmore. Just drive all the way to the end of the road.”
The driver nods and Erin sits back in the seat comfortably. He’s been in New York for five hours and already the lively atmosphere is becoming background noise. He pulls out his headphones, ready to listen to some music when his phone buzzes. He grins as he quickly plugs the earphones into his phone and accepts the video call.
“Erin!” Natalie’s cheerful, paint-splattered face appears instantly on the screen. “How’d the interview go?”
“Good. They loved my portfolio,” Erin leans an elbow against the door panel. “One of them even asked how I got so close to wolves without being afraid.”
Natalie giggles and raises a brow. “And what’d you say to that?”
“I told them that I must’ve been a wolf in a past life and they could smell it on me.” Erin grins playfully.
